Are you able to get a rotating Brinstar Depths in the future? I mean just from the WIP alone I'd be satisfied because the lava actually looks good for once!

Thanks!! It would be fantastic if the screen may rotate , but is currently not posible... in this moment I'm working only in the aesthetic changes.

Well... I remember there being a Icicle Mountain stage on the vault that actually moved up/down. So I'd contact the maker of that stage and see what he has to say. You can also look at Frigate Orpheon's coding and see how they got it to "switch". But in any case, I'll be satisfied with a better looking Brinstar Depths for now.

I'm working in the "reflection". A new model with more elements for a realistic effect.

I need some help about the shaders. Which do you like more?


The brighter (new), or the darker (original)

This looks GREAT! I think I like the lighter reflections personally, but it's hard to decide without seeing it in gameplay.

FoD looks really good, but the splash effects kinda ruin it for me; they're huge. I guess that isn't really a problem with the stage, but with Brawl itself... If size of the splash fx were ever to be changed down the line, I think it'd be necessary to make your stage official because it's just straight up better looking than the current FoD in every way.

Anyway, have you considered doing anything to the platforms? They're kinda plain as-is.

Man that stage looks awesome in action! I can't wait to throw this in my build and see what else you're adding. I agree about the splashes being a little distracting though. They're very big and noticeable to me.

Ummmm I like the splashes but... I could do 2 versions, one with normal collision and the other with the water collision (splashes). Do you like the idea?
You know. Watching that video again, maybe I do like the splashes after all. Could just be throwing me off after having played Fountain of Dreams for so many years. Think I'll wait for the final version before I pass judgement.

Yus. But Kraid still has that stiff tail and lava/acid/whatever doesn't anyhow moves when Kraid rises. Its more like he clips through it. Will this be fixed? I hated both of those problems on DSX8's version.
If I were able to get a hold of a better Kraid model for you, do you think you would be able to put into Brinstar Depths? If so, I'll give it a shot.
Wouldn't that model (if its one im thinking of) lag the game with 4 players or even less?

I want add the splash effect when Kraid rises and hides into the "lava", also improve the animation. About the model... well, it's better than nothing xD

It might, but it's worth a shot, and heavy optimization is always an option.

The reason I appreciate Edwguard's work the most is that any detail that seemed primitive before is improved in some way. The Kraid model's definitely a little outdated, so it's worth trying to replace it with something better (both in terms of the model and its animations).
