Way too much freaking HA.

Too many spin attacks when basic stuff could've worked. Work less on trying to fake out the opponent and just go with the guaranteed stuff, like at the very beginnning of the match when you could've probably DAed.

Wi-Fi is never a good indicator or your true playstyle, for all I know you could be playing much differently without the hassle of button lag and screen delay.

You use SDR as an approach attack move, if this wasn't Wi-Fi/you foguht an opponent who knew anything about how to punish a Sonic/a combination of both, you would be getting obliterated.

You're decaying your kill moves before killing percentages when tilts should be the ones doing the job of racking up damage.

Stop using DSmash so much, it's an attack that's suppose to be used as a spotdodge/rolldodge punisher and/or a replacement if your FSmash won't kill. It is your 2nd best kill move afterall.

Use any attack besides Dair out of Spring to gain more horizontal distance. Even an airdodge could work.

I think trying to use SpinShot as a recovery is what made him lose the only stock he lost in that match.

acually I don't really know how to do a spinshot it just happends randomly, I've been trying though I just can't get it down.
Easiest way is to SD (Down B) and press Cstick in any direction while ur still pressing B.

Yeah...but your main concern is mastering the basics. Don't worry about spinshot and stuff, you're not ready yet (lol /pit)

But seriously, try playing matches without using any specials (only to recover) it'll force you to become more well known with Sonic's basic moveset, and it'll help you with essential things like spacing.

Basically, just listen to what Kinzer said. He hit it right on the nail.

Well you wouldn't want to spinshot to recover anyways. It uses up a jump which you sometimes need to live :x

Righto, Twinkles.

The best method of recovery is just freefalling back towards the stage, you should never have to use Spring unless it's a last resort, and if you're at the upper corners of a map you can kill time by HA stalling so long as it doesn't lock-on to an opponent.

If you apply momentum canceling with SC or SD, that should do as well, and you just jump when you might fall below the ledge or when you risk getting hit out of your ball form by an opponent.

I almost always recover via spindash...then when I get close to the stage I just jump cancel it.

I miss single-button mode; it was great for stuff like this.

Here is what i think you need to do
1 spinsot more it helps alot.
2 try and mix things up like ASC to sheild cancel
3 WAY to much HA its making you too predictable.
4 grab more and try and chain moves together.
5 try and predict what your opponents going to do sometimes the best offe:sonic:nse is the best defence.
6 Sometime don't be unpredictable because it can throw them off and then start to be unpredictable when you see what your going isn't working.

IN OTHER WORDS JUST MIX UP YOUR MOVES AND SPINSHOT MOAR,
thats all i can give you hope it helps.

well every1 has told u that u homing attack too much.....

so ill skip it.

u roll too much. aside from a few matchups ...rolling is really frowned upon in my eyes. against ness there is no reason for you to roll. u can do aerials out of ur shield such as the upair and fair to stop him from trying to run a train on ur shield. also if he misspaces (which he did alot in the vid) u can shield grab. or if things are really chaotic run away and reset the situation to see if you can get better results. rolling tho...is just a no-go. sonics roll isnt anything special like lucarios or metas roll (or @ least i think metas roll is good...it looks so fast lol) so you should really try doing that alot less.

another thing is u didnt even really attempt to edgeguard @ all. i guess we can attribute that to wifi because i wouldnt go off the ledge on wifi either lmao. but in ur offline game u need to be more aggressive off the ledge against most characters...

also there was alot of jab combos and not alot of tilts. very strange. i cant really say that its a bad thing but i can say that tilts are a better option.

also...ignore the spinshot for right now (im sure cith is gonna kill me). recover with the momentum cancel and the side-b for now....the spinshot is just an occasional mixup to keep your opponent unsure as to where ur going to recover from...how fast and when. but when ur @ 170% all the way @ the blastzone of FD u dont need a mixup...u just need to live. so drop the spinshot for now and just side-b. the spinshot will come later.

other than that i think u should mess around with the dash animation and just kinda do ur own thing with it. every1 uses it differently but not involving it in ur game is not a positive thing @ all.

oh yeah and...ur kill moves...we didnt really get to see them in action because of ness's recovery but i would like to see how u get them. what risks u take and what u c as setups for them.

You use homing attack too much.
When you recover try to use the spring and jump instead of just the string

otherwise I think you did pretty good
