So with Joker coming to Smash (I still cannot get over that I am saying that.) I think it would be fun to come up with spirits to represent all of the characters in Atlas's wide collection of moody usually post apocalyptic JRPGs! I got a few ideas myself
Spirit: Yuske Kitagawa
Character: Chrom (Black Alt, Or White)
Stage: Luigi's mansion (Closest thing to Madarame's palace I can think of, unless I am blind.)
Conditions:
-Hostile Assist Trophies will spawn (Vince)
- The enemy loves to taunt
-The enemy get's faster as the battle progresses
On Equip: Start the battle with a Freezie, or Become a Light Weight.
Where do I even begin with this one. He has a sword, he has blue hair, he is voiced by Mathew Mercer in English. This is too good of an opportunity to miss and it is why I came up with this forum in the first place. See as how elegant Yuske is, he needs to taunt quite a bit. The Speed boost is a reference to the fact that Yuske can boost the entire parties evasion in Persona 5. and Vince is self explanatory.
Spirit: Sojiro Sakura
Character: Dr.Mario (Pink Alt) teamed up with a Default Inkling.
Stage: Prisim Tower or Fourside.
Conditions:
-Super Spicy Curry and food are the only items that will spawn.
-The enemies get more powerful after eating (idk if the Curry counts for that)
On Equip: Start the battle with Super Spicy Curry
Who has not compared Futaba to an Inkling at one point or another? You could flip this around and make it a Futaba spirit, but I think Sojiro makes more sense for both the equip effect and and making a curry themed battle around him would be a wasted opportunity.
Spirit: Sae Nijima
Character: Bayonetta (Bayo 2 orange color)
Stage: Joker's stage (whatever that may be)
-The enemy shifts between being metal
-The enemy gets stronger as the match goes on
-The enemy starts the fight with a Franklin Badge
On Equip: Elite Spirit, Defense Type. Three slots.
I think this is the best way to represent Sae without going into spoiler territory due to the ambiguous nature of spirits. There will be a spoiler filled description bellow
Bayonetta reminds me a bit of Shadow Sae in her appearance, and the metal transformation being a reference to her second phase. This phase makes her stronger of course, but the boost in strength is also a reference to the gamble mechanics of her fight. Lastly, the Franklin Badge reflects how Sae counter attacks if you do not obey the rules of her battle.
Spirit: Chie Satonaka
Character: Zero Suit Samus (Green Alt) teamed up with giant Shiek (Yellow recolor)
Stage: Onett
-The enemy favors kicking movse
-The enemy gets stronger after eating
-The enemy is easily distracted by items
-Defeat the primary target to win
On equip: Increase the power of kicking moves
Chie kicks everything you fight in Persona 4. Pro Wrestler? Kick it. Demon Baby? Kick it. GIANT TOWER??? Kick it! This is of course possible to her Beef diet of course! Shiek is her Persona Tome!
Spirit: Yosuke Hanamura
Character: Pit (Black Recolor) teamed up with giant Greninja ( White Recolor)
Stage: New Pork City (Battlefield Variant)
Conditions
-There are strong winds in play
-The enemy has light weight status
-Defeat the primary target to win
On equip: Become immune to wind effects
I chose New Pork City because it's gaudy nature reflects Junes, with Greninja being Jiraiya. I chose Pit because he is about as dopey as Youske, he even has a shadow! Also Pit's double glaive style is the closest thing to Youske's Kunai fighting style.
Spirit: Akihiko Sanada
Character: Little Mac (White recolor) Teamed up with giant Samus (Fusion Suit recolor)
Stage: Luigi's Mansion (Omega Variant)
Conditions:
-The Floor is Electrified
-The enemy does not like jumping
-The enemy has powered up punching moves
-Defeat the primary target to win
On equip: Increase the power of punching moves
I chose Luigi's Mansion because the giant moon with the green sky is reminiscent of Persona 3's dark hour. Little Mac is self explanatory, while Samus is Polydeuces
-The enemy starts the battle with a black hole
-The enemy's attack power is increased after a while
On equip (Support): Increases the power of darkness moves, such as Ganondorf's and Mewtwo's specials.
Spirit: Yu Narukami
Character: Mii Swordfighter (Yu Narukami costume... ...guys, we know it's going to happen!) teamed up with Pit (Black recolor, Yosuke), ZSS (Green recolor, Chie), Zelda (Red recolor, Yukiko), King Dedede (blue recolor, teddie), Capitan Falcon (black recolor, Kanji) and Bayonetta (white short hair recolor, Naoto)
Stage: Onett (Battlefield)
-Mob battle
-Defeat the main fighter to win (Yu appears at the end, only three enemies at a time)
On equip (Main): Legendary Attacker, increases the power of weapons when equipped.
Spirit: Caroline and Justine
Character: Small Zelda (blue recolor) teamed up with Small Bayonetta (blue recolor)
Stage: Persona stage (whichever it is)
-Timed battle
-The enemy heals itself when it sustains mayor amounts of damage
-The enemy randomly increases its attack power
On equip (Main): Advanced Defense, can evolve at level 99 into ... (I don't know how to use spoilers, but you know who if you've played persona5)
When evolved: Legendary Defense, when equipped increases FS charging speed.
Spirit: Margaret
Character: Female Robin (white recolor... closest to blue!)
Stage: Final Destination
-Timed battle
-The enemy heals itself when it sustains mayor amounts of damage
-The enemy randomly increases its attack power
-The enemy favors special moves
-The enemy's special move power is increased
On equip (Support): Grants a 12% chance of a devastating critical hit
