And, yes, I have won plenty of state championship smash tournaments as well as a Pacific Northwest regional champion.
Rose City series, GameClucks, etc. and even took top 10 at nationals/majors.
You know what drove me to such heights of success and being a champion?
Scrubs and noobs slinging their big-mouthed words to compensate for their lackluster performance and they wanted to target me specifically. So I showed them up.
You don't get power by talking big, you use power to invest in actions. The actions powered by good become good actions and those powered by malevalence are bad actions. I spent a lot of time, energy, and effort helping build a Smash community in Oregon so we all could even have events at all and to promote players and help bring Oregon players up in skill as well as get them recognition. This is the foundation of the Oregon Smash Community.
Setting yourself up as a spokesperson for current scene is disgraceful. For shame talking to a longstanding veteran of Smash in our state the way you have done and I hope your actual heads of your clique censure what you have done as I am doing now. The irony is that I helped build your scene you are advertising for, not just the roots of Smash in general in our state which I am native to, but also directly where your scene is now that was born out of my direct involvement with either establishing Melee or even today's Ultimate scene with Synergy/Unity and where it was taken currently.
Like I stated before, if you do not appreciate Competitive Principles and the founding figures of your current scene then take your 3 month old smashboards account and your Smash Rookie title and GTFO and over to your clique that organizes special events for special people who need validation rather than working hard and earning by merit.
But if you want something greater than stay and root yourself in a greater foundation that is nourished by competitive principles.
Your choice.
