its easy mode when you use a different character.

i mean... when you actually do this, and see how easy it is to mop the floor with kids that were giving you trouble.... it really puts sonic's tier placement into perspective.

i wish i was a tier hore.

Hey Gf2tw I don't know if this helps but how about facing a level 9 cpu to work on your basic skills and then when you feel you have enough training take on a real person hope this advice helps.

for Sonic, outplaying is far more important. Reading opponents and doing proper reactions to their approaches is far more valuable to helping you win than learning Sonic-specific AT's. Otherwise you wouldn't have people like Mr. 3000 or Anther winning/placing high in tourneys.

Sure, you can read a computer's movement and counter their approaches.

But they don't mix things up, and they rarely ever DI.

:[ unfortunately for me, I can't control other characters too well. lol they're too slow.

Yeah but there good for practice to improve reflexs cpu focuses on direct attacks so that will help you on defense and when to dish out attacks.

I know, but if being technically proficient/being able to use the techs were so important, Anther and 3000 wouldn't have placed high in those tourneys. ;l

Oh? I haven't seen NL's Sonic.

But yeah, pretty much.

the only thing comps are good for are practicing movements, but correct reading and punishment is far more important.

Don't worry KASR all you got to do is stay releaxed and focus don't think about the negative think positive like how will show off Sonic and Kirby.

Don't make misteaks. The Sonic boards are counting on you. Your honor is at steak here. Piledrive that tournament into the ground like a steak in a tent.

Are these puns getting to anyone yet?

Steak.

Not at all.

Also I love it how some people find Sonic more annoying than MK, and they can laugh too when I taunt them saying "LOL I'm annoying".

On a random note, the current second place holder on the gamebattles ladder is an Ike. Or at least he was yesterday, haven't checked again. Thats pretty darn impressive. But then again, Ike+lagfi =win.

How do you get challenges for Gamebattles? Their way of running their thing is even more confusing than the free play chatroom on AiB.

completely agree with this post. obviously.. every character SHOULD play differently vs other characters, and even different players.

BUT sonic has to change it up EVEN MORE. because, basicly... sonic doesent have a single overpowered move that actually works accross the board on all characters... i mean the closest things he has to that .. are probobly... Bair and fsmash... but thats still nothing when you compare it to mk's dsmash or zelda's bair.... those just work vs every character.

thus they have to change less..

sonic cant use utilt vs some characters, but it ***** others.

ASC is practicly un-unsable on some characters, while... it massecres others...

and i agree with you, i can't play other characters very well compared to sonic.
I have been solidly playing only sonic since.. 2 weeks afters brawls release, and other characters feel too slow like you said. thats why somtimes i pick wolf for fun, because he is the easiest char in the game to pickup (smash/lazor spam goes a long way with his noob magnet) and its funny to **** my friends with wolf when they just gave me a pretty good fight and beat me when i was sonic. I am pretty confident that if i picked up a top tier char, like D3, G&W, MK, or Falco... i would run circles around a lot of people i have problems with...

its reminescant of the time that i got 2 stocked sonic v wolf, and then i counterpicked wolf for the mirror, and i 3 stocked the kid, and then he picked g&w and i three stocked him again.... in a tournament. .....

Sonic just is very unique much like when some one first plays snake

my friend who mains D3 randomed sonic a few days ago, and from what he was saying, he felt like he was playing a different game when he played sonic.

Then why is Wario in your pic? Nothing against him though, he's awesome.

puffball is actually right. if you make a misteak with sonic, your screwed... other characters seem to have more room for error.

like.. every game i play... ill hit my opponent like 5 times to their 1 hit on me. But i'll still lose.

How much do i have to outplay you to beat you?... well thats fine, im getting pretty close to a zero error sonic, and then Imy opponents wont land ANY hits.

It's hard to transition from Sonic to certain others, but I do very much enjoy Sheik, and I'm pretty good with Samus (but only because I mained Mewtwo on Melee and Samus plays more like him than Lucario).

My "Team Triple S" FTW
Sonic= speed/ pressure
Samus= power/ range
Sheik= defense/ disruption

I never said it kills, just that it absorbed life energy from its victims, like Aura Sphere it draws power from converting the nonbelievers, not killing them.

yes. it is true that going from sonic to other characters can be difficult. It took me a long time to get where i am with sonic today, and after playing so many hours on a char that is really too fast compared to the rest of the cast, its no wonde ri suck *** with d3, despite him being a really good character.

BUT if you need to play a normal char... and u have been maining sonic... just pick up wolf.. he is freakin EZ mode im telling you, and u will walk on all ur friends that thought they were as good as you because they are 50/50 with your sonic.

Nah, it's an accepted fact.

Pretty much the number of people that regularly frequent this board are probably close to the amount of competent Sonic mains in the world lol.

So you can replace the bad players from our group with the random prodigies/others who picked up Sonic but are good with him and you'd still have about the same number lol.
