Yes, it does. It just means Florida isn't the ****, it doesn't have the "cool kids" who smoke and hang on the corner. Therefor NY has more tournaments and statistacly, Florida should not have more tournaments than NY, simply because the number of people living there. Now I know nothing about American geography, but I can just tell Orlando is a ****ty city, AMIRITE?

In Rochester, when melee started getting big, a few friends of mine, went to a lot of the tourneys that were held...
It just so happens that one of the few people the played melee all those years ago, became the part owner of the only LAN center arcade in the city... So since he already worked there, he had the space, the resources and the connections to other people who like the game, to run his own tourneys in the building that he ran anyway...
and since it was the only lan center in the city, theres always new people showing up, and every once in a while somebody who really liked smash would walk in, and the community would rope them into coming to tourneys and thus our scene grew...
Im assuming that in NYC, there was a group of friends that really liked smash, and eventually that group of friends either met up with another group of people that liked the game or just by itself became so big that they thought it would be a good idea to have a tourney. and they just moved up from there.
So to answer your question, why does NY have more tourneys than FL.

The only pro I know is Dark Sonic and it isn't that there is now tournaments it's just that it's kind of far and I'am not familar with the downtown part of Orlando I need a tournament closer like Winter park or altamonte (both orlando).

aight aight aight....heres how u do it. lemme tell u from personal experience. u go up to your dad and u tell him. dad...u wont even know they are here (this is a lie...so make sure u exaggerate how quiet we will be). they are just going to the tournament and coming back here as a place to rest. you dont have to feed them (this is true) or even supply blankets so we wont have to wash anything that we wouldnt be washing usually (this is also true). basically it will be of absolutely no disruption in his everyday life. that how i sold my parents on it. i made all smashers sound like mindless drones who only sleep and make no noise....worked like a charm.
but on a more serious note....what is this 1 way? if its gay im not down...if its cleaning or somethin like that im totally down. if its beating him in some sort of contest...ill give it my best shot. if its some sort of being omega polite and meeting your family and the perfect guest...im still totally down.
