Whoa, where the heck u get this idea from?
ness4life was talking about this a couple pages ago. The idea has actually come up several times before...
So obviously it has quite a bit of potential!

There's really no reason for that though. If a shield could have extra abilities, I don't understand why people would be against it. As long as they were balanced it would add to character individuality and that's a very good thing and I would love for shields to better represent the series with different shield traits.
The keyword is "balance". It's obviously next to impossible already to totally balance (or even sort-of balance) a roster.
What's going to happen if you give every character (or even most characters) new, unique abilities? Shielding would become more and more important and used more and more often...
However, you (or maybe not you...I don't recall) brought up the idea that shields should be un-breakable. I like it, though in that case, I think that if you just sat there and blocked, after a certain amount of damage your shield
would break...or maybe you'd start to take
decreased damage rather than none.
And of course, grabs would still trump them.

Yes for the Ganondorf sword attacks.
Am I alone in desiring a Ganondorf who fights with the Trident of Power? It always seemed like his signature weapon to me. I mean, he only
has a sword in two games, and of those, he only fights with it in one.
Plus, we already have a big-sword user in Ike.
...A trident would be awesome, but I suppose it depends on what Ganon's up to in the next Zelda.

I still like the idea of a Power Smash or Power Special. Anyone whose played Darkstalkers or Third Strike might be familiar with ES/EX moves and this system is somewhat similar.
The idea is you perform a certain command involving A or B and you would perform a souped up version of a smash or special attack. How it affects the move could be char specific and move specific.
Oh you and your meter fetish.
I think I've said this before, but this idea seems out of place in Smash Bros.. One of the underlying concept of the games is that they're very, very easy to get into, but obviously, as this website attests, there's untold depth hidden away in the system.
But a system like this is just outright deep. There's a clear way to better your game by using the system.

Also, does anyone have an idea to declone Falco and Wolf's special moves? Falco's Down B is a start, but we need more.
Wolf's Side+B should have the same damage and effects, but when used in the air, you can tilt it downwards in the same way you do Link's boomerang.
Also I think the "shotgun" qualities of his blaster should be more pronounced. The gun hits coming out, we know. The actual blast deals more damage the closer the enemy is to Wolf, so what I propose is that the beam isn't really a "bullet", but rather a short but wide plume of energy that the blaster emits. A bit more range than Aura Palm, maybe, but with a wider vertical hitbox (though to do the most damage, you'd want to hit them straight-on).
EDIT - Also, Tails beats Knuckles in probability-for-Smash.
We know it goes Hero > Sidekick > Villain.
Tails is the primary sidekick. Knuckles is sort of a...anti-hero maybe. Let's not get into villains, but my point is: Tails is the clear next pick, assuming there would be another Sonic rep.
Personally I doubt it, but that's the facts.
