This thread is for the ghostly gunner John Raimi

John Raimi

I'll give you three guesses

So, John raimi was from the game Geist, which never really got great reiews, a 7.0 press average from IGN.com with 37 press ratings.

Anyway, I recently picked up this game again, and somthing strange happened, I was more attracted to it this time around. Sure, it's flawed with annoying frame rate, but still enjoyable to some extent. The multiplayer is still and always will be the best of the game, no matter what.

Anyway, I pictured the Ghost version of John Raimi (I told this to my friend, and he said Snake is the only "real" human character that should be in Brawl, so I decided to clarify it now)

STATS
Height- 4/5
Power- 4/5
Speed- 3/5 Floats
Jump- 2/5
Gravity- 2/5

MOVESET

B- Shotgun- John raimi puts out his hand and it begins to glow red. The more you hold, the more red gows. When you release B, those little red balls come out with force. The more you hold B, the farther they go. Y'know, like a shotgun

Foward / Back B- Posses- Now this move you cn have some fun with. John Raimi posses the opponent and you can control them for a while. Any damage down to you while you are possesed happens to both you and the possesed. You can use all their moves. The posssesed can mash the buttons to escape, ike in the Yoshi's Egg or Jigglypuff's sleep

Up B- Intangiblity- Basic Teleport move, but will also teleport people near him along wth him.

Down B_ Grenade- John Raimi calls back the red balls and throws them on the ground creating an explosion on both sides of him.

SUPER SMASH ATTACK- POLTERGEIST- John Raimi dissapears and then all the gun items in Smash Bros appear (Ray gun, Super Scope) and the melee items (Beam Sword) appear. First the guns shoot everyone, then the melee weapons come in and attack everyone.

STAGE- Taking Suggestions

SYMBOL- taking suggestions

Kirby hat- Kirby gets the red balls floating around him

So yeah, it's slim, but it would be cool to see John Raimi in Brawl.

When I beat the game, I'll see if Nintendo has rights, like they do with Golden sun! Or, if someone can provide this info.

a possibility, but the game wasn't as good as expected, so don't get your hopes up.
Yeah, at least tjhe multiplayer had SOME replay alue, but the game over all wasn't tht good. Good idea, bad way of expressing it. Same thing happend with "Eternal Darknesas" good lord, I can see it now...

No, simply because there are many other 3rd party characters I want in over him.

There's a problem with that though... Eternal Darkness is a game by Silicon Knights and Silicon Knights = Micro$oft's Newest *****... Count on good ol' M$ to crush our dreams... :(

Pious would be an awesome addition though, but I'm not so sure about this Rami guy...

It wasn't a BAD game, but it wasn't one of the best games I ever played either. 6.5/10 I guess.

However, Pious was the uber-pimp :pimp: and should be in Brawl.

I decided to get into more detail with this on account I replayed the game and found it better this time around. I put in movesets and everything, so this is a major +BUMP+

The Possess move is, of course, the best part of that set. The Super Smash is kinda... lame, to be totally honest. Maybe something where all the items on the stage disappear? Or all the players suddenly get lifted into the air and slammed down again? Shadowy weapons appearing from nowhere sounds cool, but the way I envision it isn't that exciting. I think if he did something where he actually contacted the player, and didn't create items out of thin air, would be a lot better.

And what's with the dual stats for this guy?

While I must admit I still havent played the game, mainly due lackluster reviews, the character
John Raimi himself would be a most interesting addition - though with n-Space being third party, it's not too likely. At any rate, I wonder if the new Wii game currently in development is a Geist sequel - that might actually help his chances, but probably not that much...

Nintendo owns Eternal Darkness and all related to it (characters and music for example).

I heard the same thing regarding RARE's Blast Corps. and Jet Force Gemini, but I believe those claims were proven false - and it's probably the same case with ED. If Nintendo does infact own the rights to ED though, could you please provide a link?

Geist was developed under the supervision of Nintendo and it's owned by Nintendo (there is even a Samus suit and a GC in some lockers). Proof here.

I didn't see the GameCube, but I saw Samus's helmet. Thanks for conirming, but because of Samus's Helmet and Hideki Konno being producer I thought that Nintendo had rights (they also published the game), but now we know. ITS FUN TO LEARN :p

Those links don't work for me, but I guess I'll take your word for it. However, cameo appearances of various Nintendo paraphernalia is moot for evidence as MGS:TTS featured just that, and last I checked Metal Gear still belongs to Konami, not to mention it's their signature franchise...

Back on topic, you raise an interesting point hemi (can I call you hemi?) as before Geist, all n-Space produced were liscensed games like Rugrats and Mary-Kate and Ashley, along with some Duke Nukem spinoffs... :psycho: Geist is so far their only original title and we have Nintendo to thank for that. And since Nintendo was involved in its creation, they may infact own the rights...

Well, you know what I meant

You can call me hemi, although I'd prever HMBG because it sounds alot like TMBG, whom I named myself after :chuckle: but It's you choice. I'm pretty sure Nintendo owns Geist, but if they where to put in a "serious" Nintendo character next, it would be M-09 from Project H.A.M.M.E.R

Actually that's what what I was gonna call you, but everyone else seems to call you hemi - very well, HMBG it is. Actually, I don't think M-09's chances are that good either, despite being 1st party (NST), but I guess we'll just have to see...

BTW TMBG is awesome! Istanbul (Not Constantinople) is one of my favorite songs ever, and its partially responsible for turning me into a history buff... :p

I suppose it would depend on if Project H.A.M.M.E.R does well, which I'm sure it will. Who doesn't want to smash thing with a giant hammer:chuckle:

TMBG are indeed awesome.

*WTF BUMP?!*

At any rate, I saw Geist at ol' Wallyworld for under $20 (finally...). Does anyone know if it's worth getting. Also, Mr. Raimi seems to be getting A LOT of support over at N-Siders , and seeing how Sakurai-san seems to aknowledge it as the "official" Smash community, does this help his chances?

It's ALRIGHT. Not as good as others in the FPS genre like Half-Life, GoldenEye, etc., but it's a fun try.

I loved Geist. Any game where you can hurl plates like frisbees and smash them across a chef's face is a AAA title in my book.

I played Geist in front of a bunch of people and they all loved it.

As for Raimi, he'd be a VERY interesting character. So much so that he falls under the Ice Climber heading as being interesting enough that you could include him even though his game wasn't that popular.

I liked giest, it would be neat to have raimi in brawl
You asked for arena suggestions right? well here are my thoughts

Haven, Volks Corporation: A virtual reality world, complete with green grass, a small stream, and a waterfall with rabbits running around in the backround. if you look carefuly on the waterfall, you would see a volks sign

Volks Lab, Volks Corporation: journey through a side scrolling world with the persistant hydra on your tail, every once in a while attacking frome a pipe above. when it screams, exposing it's bright red throat, hit it, and the map will slide into the next frame/room of Volks Lab. the place still is a floating land mass, but when you hit the hydras red throat everything moves to the side, putting you in a new room.

another thought, a clone of Raimi would be the ghost, that the main antagonists buddy, the ghost that was in Raimi body most of the game, then went into Rookes body, then it got killed. i dont know of this ghost had a name, but it was similar to raimi and was a boss.
a symbol could be the volks symbol; the V thing

nice ideas. I was thinking the virtual reality room could be used. The one with the Hdrya sounds neat too
