Before I say anything else, here's a few sources:

You can google for more if you want. "Oculus Rift"

Seems very legit to me, considering some of the articles were made from way before April Fools 2013, on random months that have nothing to do with April. What do you guys think?

Well, you can try it out by buying the dev kit.

And since tf2 joined in, I do believe they already have some sort of mode.

The fact that this exists makes me giddy. And we know it'll stick around, because erotic games are already in development for it.

I've actually gotten to try it at my college, since I have a class client who wants our group to work with it. The camera is a touch fuzzy and it will give you a disembodied sensation, but it's really cool nonetheless.

TBH, I'm apathetic to the Rift. Guess it never really interested me. I'm yet to even be in the vicinity of one of these things, but if I ever get the chance to use one, a play test would be cool. The novelty with virtual reality is that it actually immerses you into the setting of a game rather than imputing yourself into it through characters.

I can see virtual reality becoming the next big 'fad' gaming tech. Seeing how it has ton of innovative potential, we could see something similar to the motion control fad. I can very well see Nintendo leading this charge.

Yet at the same time, we're yet to get a virtual reality console that can actually fare off against The Big 3. I'm also concerned if the impact of virtual reality would put the conventional, controller-based input of games we know and love to be obsolete. I certainly hope this won't be too big or find a way from them to coexist.

But hey, until we get something akin to Sword Art Online's NERV Gear, I'll just stick to keyboards, controllers, and waggle sticks. :p
