To those who were wondering WTF happened here: I had the unfortunate luck to have the building manager that has a huge agenda against the Gaming club during SNF 3. He's always looking for a reason to shut down the gaming club, because of something that happened 10 years ago with people who no longer go to this school, and neither do their friends. He saw a wad of cash on the table, and asked me what it was for. Because it's been the 5th or so Smash tournament, and there's also been many Soul Calibur and Halo tournaments that have also been run in the school, I really had no reason to lie to him. He said that it was gambling, and wanted me to shut the whole place down because of it. So, the prize money for low tier got handed out at Quiznos, and the rest of the tournament became free.

I had a long talk with the cool building manager who was working that evening. He told me that there's going to be a huge meeting about tournaments, and whether or not they can be run with cash prizes and entry fees. And more than likely he said, it'd return back to what it had always been like within a few days.

Just so you know, as long as the activity in question requires skill to determine outcome, putting money on the line for it is legally not gambling by definition. Gambling is only things such as sports betting, where you are betting on someone elses skill, or random generators such as lotteries.

Lol I posted my "shoutouts" in the wrong section so you can see them there, but basically I said that I had a great time playing chess and doing team matches (Schmik and Squam it was a lot of fun!) and talking or playing almost everyone. Lot of talent all around and I always enjoy seeing the turtles return for those short intervals like they did last night! The old days of smash were a thing to behold *sniff* and it makes me glad to see them return even for a single evening.

It was a pleasure everyone! Oh and congrats to our singles champions! I wanted to enter but I couldn't resist chess which I almost never get to play.

Oh and before I go, this tournament won an award! It was the first event KoreanDJ avoided a money match! Go me!
