Sup everyone?! RagingCherry here with another pretty awesome announcement! #SmashTheRecord (#StR) is going to return in 2016 with an even bigger and better event space than previous years! We are incredibly proud to announce we upgraded to a venue over three times the size of #StR2015! We are also very proud to be raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital once again! 100% of donations received (live and on stream) during the event go directly to St. Jude! Though I currently reside in SoCal, #StR will always remain to be held in the Central Florida area!

For those who are unfamiliar with the event, here is a brief summary. In 2014, Gahtzu stayed up for 72 hours to break the world record for “Longest Video Games Marathon Playing a Fighting Game” while we raised almost $14,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital! In 2015, we were able to add Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. (64) to the lineup, which helped bring out a crowd of over 800 attendees!

Registration Goes Live on June 1st at 3:00 PM EST
Registration Ends On October 17th at 11:59 PM EST
Super Early Bird Registration (June 1st - June 15th) - $35
Regular Price Registration (June 16th - August 1st) - $40
Late Registration (August 2nd - October 17th) - $50
Registration at the Event (grants access to spectate & side tournaments only, not recommended) - $60
The venue fee is one price, whether you are entering the tournament(s) or just spectating. The venue is a beautiful 27,000 square foot ballroom in a convention center (over 3x the size as #StR2015)!
Be sure to register before we hit registration caps for doubles events!
Side event registration will be taken throughout the duration of the event!
Speedrunning Information
Anyone may submit a run to be considered for #StR2016! If you would like to be apart of the Speedrunning section of #StR2016, please submit an application to do so here
Event Schedule
Side events are currently being updated, but doubles for ALL games will be Friday morning, singles for Super Smash Bros. Melee & Super Smash Bros. for Wii U on Friday and Saturday evenings (6 PM - 10 PM EST). Super Smash Bros. (64) will not be returning as an official event of #StR2016. Speedruns will take place throughout the duration of the weekend. We REALLY wanted to focus on more of the side events this year, giving an experience unlike that of any other Smash tournament has before. The main hours of each day will consist of events not generally hosted at Smash majors (see events below).
