As Sakurai said himself...
The way I figure it is the characters that will be unlockable via other methods will be the ones with traditional unlocking, like Luigi, Jiggs, and maybe even C Falcon. ((even though you did unlock Luigi in adventure mode in melee..)). On one hand, I want to see some characters unlockable in their tranditional ways, but on the other, Subspace would feel incomplete without some of these characters being in it. Maybe you can't continue in the Subspace (like event modes in melee) without unlocking some characters another way?
All I know is Sakurai made this game way too diverse to unlock all the characters in only one mode, The Subspace. But the question becomes did he put enough in this mode to make it feel complete? What's your take?
In other words, some unlockables will not play a roll in the Subspace. How can you have a character you haven't unlocked yet and you don't do it through the Subspace? You can earn most characters by playing through Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary. For those of you who look forward to those encounters, I recommend you clear this mode before playing Basic Brawl.
