I got emulation for Mario Kart Arcade GP DX working.

The colours are super vibrant in this one. The controls feel amazing too, I think I honestly prefer how the controls handle in the Arcade games, it's got so much more weight.

Only issues are that the emulator makes Avast go crazy and it tries to delete important files and stop processes. Tried making exceptions but in the end just decided I need to disable Avast while playing this. There's no virus or anything here, it's just a bunch of false positives.

Also the UI and menus don't scale with the resolution set to 3840x2160 so that's why all of the icons are in a little corner. Still playable though, you don't need that information all that much.

Also this is the Japanese version so I can't read it but I seem to have a good enough grasp of how to play. You can even play online on the official servers.

This game and many other modern arcade games are actually run on Windows-based machines so there isn't actually much emulation going on when it comes to running the game itself, that runs natively. The emulation is just to emulate the arcade cabinet of the original game, such as it's specific buttons.

I'll have a video of this up tomorrow.

I usually watch more shows in English, it's my native language and all. Kyle Hebert and Chris Sabat being among my favorite voice actors ever also helps. I wish Sean Schemmel did more shows, he's got good range too. Dragon Ball in Japanese has always been weird to me, though Norio Wakamoto's Cell is really cool. Then again, Wakamoto usually does awesome work.

I did mostly watch JoJo in Japanese, since the English dub wasn't out yet. I'm hoping to watch the rest of Stardust in English than jump into Diamond is Unbreakable in English later on, since I already watched the first version/read Part 4.

In other news, I did beat Mega Man 10. Overall it was much easier than MM9 was in terms of the stages, most of the weapons were still fun, though Commando Bomb and Thunder Wool weren't too great for direct fights. MM9's weapons had more purpose to them however. Played through a bunch of the challenge mode for MM10 as well, and it was pretty fun for what it was. Still, now that I beat it, I unlocked Bass and the Hard Mode. Though I don't know where to fight Enker, Punk and Ballade. I'll figure it out later though.

I think MM10's soundtrack beats out MM9 just slightly. Mostly because the songs on the Wily Stages are some of the strongest out of the whole series.

I'm gonna play through Mega Man 8 next, after that, I'll have played every console Mega Man game, barring MM11, which I want to get during the Holidays. Looking forward to playing that one too.

There's this TimeSpinner game that looks like a Mega Man/Castlevania type of platformer, so that could be neat too.

Forget TimeSpinner, looks boring. But The Messenger seems cool.

Nice! What kind of emulator? I know the first two arcade titles ran on a modified GameCube engine and thus can run on Dolphin. Is DX's engine based off a Nintendo home console too?

After a couple hours of playing Overcooked with a couple friends, I'm feeling pretty mean tonight. So what do I do? Decide to use that overworked energy in getting housework done. Surprisingly useful. I still hate life though.

I can’t beat Megaman 10. I’m gods awful at it.
If you got the Legacy Collection, save scumming can work if you have trouble at certain parts. It also starts on with an easy mode available too.

For the boss order, Sheep Man would be the best bet, as he's the easiest boss to fight Buster Only.

I'm terrible at all 2D platformers.

I still love them though! :D
I feel like this is me.

They're just so fun and refreshing when I'm in the mood for them but my gosh I can hardly beat any of them.

I think I managed to clear Mega Man 10 on Easy Mode back when I played it on PS3, though.

Easy modes on hard games are built for a certain catharsis. Ever play Ecco the Dolphin 3D on Super Dolphin Mode after attempting to bash your face against the vanilla version one too many times? Ohhhh yeaaaah. Welcome to the Machine is still stupid and impossible even with all the perks in the world, though. Screw Welcome to the Machine. I mean Ecco's kind of iffy to call a platformer admittedly because the entire point is that you're swimming but I say same boat.

DX is Windows-based. Meaning it's literally a Windows executable. The arcade cabinet is essentially just a Windows PC, even has an NVIDIA GTX 680 graphics card IIRC, so it's pretty easily compatible at the native settings if you have that or anything more powerful. The game itself doesn't really need to be emulated per se because of that, the emulator is more for emulating functions specific to the arcade cabinet, such as it's unique controller layout and connecting to it's official online servers (and creating an account to use).

The emulator is TeknoParrot.

https://teknoparrot.com/

If you're interested, here's the video guide I used. There is a Google Doc link in the description that contains a link to the game download (it's the 1.10 JP version, which is the latest and presumably final Japanese update for the game), as well as the Fix files you need (they're .dll files that need to be placed in your System32 and SysWOW64 folders - they don't overwrite anything though and are safe to use, the game needs them to run though).

If you have any controllers with XInput (like an Xbox One controller), TeknoParrot supports those natively. Also, if you've played any reasonably recent games on your computer and/or are running on a modern system like one that came with Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, then you should already have the NET Framework and Microsoft Visual C++ stuff installed, so you can probably ignore that.

Other than that just follow the video.

Oh, and depending on your anti-virus software, you will probably get a bunch of false positives due to the fact that a lot of the techniques the program uses to connect to the network and such are comparable to certain malware exploits, but rest assured, it's not malware. If you get that, just add exclusions and keep re-adding the files it deletes. I also found temporarily disabling your anti-virus and letting Windows Defender give you prompts to allow the game to connect to online through your network helps too, after that your anti-virus leaves it alone it seems.

Ah, I see. Pretty kewl.

Probably won't bother as while I have fun when I play it at Dave & Buster's, I don't think it's exciting enough to emulate.

So here's my team in Crystal Clear at the moment. Pseudo-evil team (I mean, Slowbro is a Shiny, so I wasn't saying no to him). I think I'm gonna add Scizor to it and call the team made.

To be fair, Slowbro is pure evil. And I should update my crystal clear sometime.

Good news and bad news.

Good news is that I got my first regular Hector ever after nearly 2 years.

Bad news is that he's +Spd/-Atk. Literally the worst stats possible.

But hey, that means I have a good Distant Counter fodder that I can't possibly feel bad about sacrificing, so is it truly bad?

How are you guys so unlucky, I've gotten two normal Hectors out of focus and one in a free summon lol

When you said “good news and bad news” I was worried.
