That's just redeeming Gold points for EShop credit, you're not redeeming them for the actual game, it's just a really small discount. You can redeem it on eshop. When you go to buy it, it gives you an option to use the gold points along with money

If it wasn't because of Switch, I would totally want Nintendo to make a powerful console, but then when rumors on being a hybrid console while it was pretty cool but it didn't blew me away at all, not even the trailer initially.Exclusives are the only reason I have a Switch and PS4, since I can just play literally everything else on my PC. Just so happens that Nintendo's first-party games look amazing in spite of the hardware they run on, so I'm neutral on whether or not they should make a more powerful console.
This is where I somewhat disagrees with OJ, I mean yes I get that Nintendo was never too focused on Online Service until now, while I don't care about the P2P stuff, I do think Nintendo might just have the time to work their online better. For some people, it isn't "Nintendo selling their soul" when it comes to asking Nintendo pulling more huge third party games to Switch and have better online, like I said I can definitely see two sides having both reasonable points. The only thing I want them to get with the industry on is their online service. I'm still going to pay for it because $20 a year is a drop in the bucket compared to many other yearly subscriptions, but their online is still back in 2006 compared to the other consoles.
Why are we still using friend codes in 2018?
Why do their online games have no built-in voice chat?
Why are they still using peer-to-peer instead of dedicated servers for most of their online games? (excluding Smash and Mario Tennis, games that work well with P2P)
AND WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE DELAY-BASED P2P INSTEAD OF ROLLBACK P2P?
Whats's NOT FINE in my opinion is no save backups right at the getgo. It doesn't even need to be cloud saves anyway, just for some reason you can't backup your save data via SD card or USB connect...Friend Codes are fine honestly.
They let me use and change usernames whenever I want and honestly what's the difference between adding someone by name and adding someone by number?
A powerful console that go along with the Switch???? Wouldn't it be a bit similar to Wii U?Just minus that you can take Switch on the go. Speaking of...I have considered the idea of Nintendo just making a powerful home console to go along with the Switch since it seems that, at this point, "it's a handheld" is the only selling point the Switch has. Literally, nobody talks about the Switch as a home console experience and that is probably due to the fact it's very subpar as a home console experience.
As cool as it would be and as much as they could definitely afford to do it, and as surprised as some might be to hear this from me - I honestly think that, in today's landscape, it doesn't make a lot of sense for Nintendo to do such a thing.
Not sure why you regard people play console games on the go is "niche", I think that's the necessary evolution for home consoles. Moreover, now I can explain to you why Switch is successful other than it being a hybrid console. (I mean look, I know I am gonna be Switch fanboy again, but I just have to)The Switch is successful for no other major reason than it fills a niche, being a "HD" handheld that plays console quality experiences. While there are other little appealing things about the system here and there, if you took away this one major aspect, the Switch wouldn't be near as successful as it is now.
I mean... you should look at NGC more rather than Wii U... it was powerful, and yes it had some flaws, but then again it somewhat shows that Nintendo making powerful console just don't work. But even if Nintendo did make a powerful home console, even something more powerful than the Xbox One X, I doubt it would do well right now. The Xbox One X and PS4 Pro already have 4K gaming covered for console games and the PS4 especially has a huge install base already. It basically goes back to how the Wii U generation was, where all Nintendo can do to attract consumers is put out loads of great first party titles. And I doubt they could since they haven't been doing so with the Switch.
Let's just safe to say that Nintendo doesn't give a damn about 4k gaming lol, and probably never will in this gen at least. But this would also introduce the issue of Nintendo having to split resources once again between Switch ("handheld") game development, and Uber 4K machine game development. While some games would release on both, others would not so they have to split their staff between the two. Which was something the Switch was designed to fix, they wanted to unify their staff.
This is why I understand on people like you thinks that Nintendo should just port their games to PC... which is literally "Nintendo Selling their Soul" according to OJ.At this point, the only thing that makes sense to me if Nintendo wants to provide cutting edge experiences in their games, is for them to port their exclusives to PC. It would take an awful lot less effort than building a whole new console.
Archaic? For some aspect, definitely (They already get rid of some though), pride? Not sure where you are coming from when it comes to pride...However, this is never going to happen anytime soon because of Nintendo's myriad of archaic philosophies and their pride.
I don't think that's a legit point this time because like how Iwata mentioned, Nintendo would cease to be Nintendo if they do that... which yes it was stubborn, but once they are in, they did it right and had success with games like Mario Run and FE Heros.Just look at how long it took them to get into mobile games, and even then they are taking their sweet time releasing anything there.
I will always go for PC if I can even build one, but as someone who never prefers emulators, I think I'll pass.At the end of the day, if you want to play Nintendo games and push them to have cutting edge graphics or at least get them close to that level, build yourself a good PC and start emulating those games.
I mean I would love to play Botw with sweet clean graphics on PC, but... then again what about other games that I want to play as well that is not on the emulators yet?Breath of the Wild is already near perfect on CEMU (and should be literally perfect come the next update or two). Switch emulation development only started a few months ago but it's already progressing rapidly and a lot of 2D games are becoming fully playable, and I reckon 3D games will start becoming viable in a few months at this rate.
Ashley reveal today?Well guys.... I think Nintendo of America finally went mad.
There was a problem fetching the tweet
Either way, this is basically just a WarioWare Gold reveal and promotion at the end of the day, so...
EDIT: And it looks like Wario has invaded their twitter account now.![]()
Ashley reveal today?
Working on a new PC build. At the moment I'm pricing out GPUs. Anyone around here any good on this stuff? I'm not willing to go much higher than £200/€220 on it, which seems to limit me to a 3GB GTX 1060 at best; I could save quite a bit by dropping down to the 1050 Ti, so I'm trying to weigh up the pros and cons of that. For what it's worth, in terms of gaming I probably won't be doing anything much heavier than Dolphin or Cemu, and emulators rely more on CPU power, so the GPU may not be such a big deal for me. In terms of actual PC games I probably won't be doing anything heavier than maybe Metal Gear Solid 5 or such; not really bothered about most of the graphically-intensive PC games. So, what’s everyone doing today?
For Wario Ware Gold, yeah.Ashley reveal today?

I think a 1050 ti should be fine. It should be able to play most modern games at 1080p medium, and medium looks just fine usually. There's not much difference in most games.Working on a new PC build. A lot of people I've spoken to have said right now isn't a good time to buy, due to stuff like Bitcoin/Ethereum miners eating up all the GPUs they can find, and the rumours of the 1100 series being launched at Gamescom, but I need this sooner rather than later - end of August or early September at the latest. Gamescom is in three weeks from now, so I might wait until then.
I mean admittedly I was just making a joke. Pretty sure it’s only for WW Gold.I want to hope, honestly, but I really do think it's just a promotion for WarioWare Gold. Nintendo has surprised us in the past though, so I can't be completely sure... but I feel the former is the most likely to happen.
