****, my 4 years cost me $28,000.
The tiger mom stereotype is quite accurate in India. Education is universally seen as the best way to ensure a good job, so government schemes for cheap education receive broad public support. And so most people can afford college without loans.

I mean, if you are a heart surgeon and only remember half of what you were taught it's going to cause some problems
I never got this example, because if we're going to base it off heart surgery than anything under an A should be failure.

Not only that, but a grade can inaccurately reflect your knowledge, for better or for worse.

For instance, I'm failing sociology. Why? Not because the subject is hard, I've learned quite a bit from it, but on vocav I get anxiety since we have to draw pictures. And I get frustrated even with stick figures. So I end up not even turning vocab in.

This is why I consider none academic jobs/careers too, especially being a model.

So I just had another moment where hearing a complaint about BotW led to it simmering in my head and my having a dawning realization about the care put into BotW.

This time it's about people complaining about the muted and often lack of soundtrack. Now, in most other sorts of games I love the loudest, most exciting music I can get, but considering what happens when I play games with exploration that have more pronounced soundtracks, I actually respect the silence in most areas of BotW for one very big reason: an awesome song for ten minutes is fun. An awesome song for dozens upon dozens of hours looping constantly is GRATING.

Even the best music can be completely soured by overstaying it's welcome. BotW is the first game with exploration that I've played that utterly sidesteps that. Exploration is mercifully quiet, and even the battle theme starts as more of a quiet warning than a song and takes long enough to escalate that you're probably fighting something pretty serious if it gets to the exciting part, which you won't very often.

As a soundtrack in a vacuum there's probably quite a few games that have a larger number of songs I love, but as a soundtrack that respects your sanity and the type of game it's in I can't think of any game that does better.

So knowing the subtle sensation of irritation from song overdose all too well as I do, I actively applaud Nintendo for the likely careful and deliberate choice, possibly even made after they had played those other games and had the same realization of what too much music while exploring does to your enjoyment of a song that I did.
I love the hell out of the music in the game, and that it only shows up in towns, battles and certain other areas.

tbh the stupidest thing about American grades is that the ****ing system can't spell. A, B, C, D, F
Where the **** is E?
To explain, the reason E got skipped over, to my knowledge, is a carryover from when report cards were handwritten. People could easily change an E to a B with one added line.

Not that F is much better since it requires one extra line, but that was the justification. Unless that's just a myth. In that case *shrug*

You think that's bad?

Try 35,000.

This is no joke.
Actually I don't think my $28g is bad, I'm proud but thankful if anything.

Capcom announced a Disney collection of 8 Disney NESX games made by Capcom, included Ducktales and it's sequel that I literally never heard of before
But it's not coming to Switch smh Capcom
It's not the Chip/Dale or Ductkales 2 remaster I was hoping for but I'll take it. No Switch version is uber lame though.

Ducktales - You should already have your own opinion, if not why don't you?
Ducktales 2 - Just as good as the original.
Chip/Dale - Very hard until you let enemies walk into your attack, awesome music
Chip/Dale 2 - Less frantic than the original but has better platforming/bosses/graphics
Darkwing Duck - Mega Man but more annoying

Haven't played Talespin yet, heard it's an average shooter at best. Hopefully this lowers the prices for these games on the second hand market.

The fact that we don't have a Switch version (at least that we know of that the moment) is bothersome. Having these games on the go would be perfect.

Still, I hope this does well so we can see these other games get the DuckTales: Remastered treatment.

I'm betting Capcom is just gonna put them all on the virtual console just so they can charge five bucks a pop for them

We get both points and grades. The grade is the only one that matters though.

It's like this

>90 = O
81~90 = A
71~80 = B
61~70 = C
51~60 = D
40~50 = E
<40 = F(ail)

So getting 81 on a test and 89 is the same for your GPA.
Why "O" and not "S"?

So in my quest of Breath of the Wild:
-First of all, got all memories, including the memory you get from Impa when you find all 12 photo areas(but not that very last one, Memory #18). I absolutely love the characterization of Zelda in them and that one involving Zelda's despair is so sad and beautiful. :crying: That memory has so much impact if you view it as the last one as intended.
-That being said, who's idea was it to make Photo #8's memory be gotten in Hyrule Castle? Seriously, for most people, they'll most likely go there after they've done all the other major stuff, yet that memory is best seen just before getting to Photo #12's memory. Why exactly is that memory at the area that you are least likely to go to when you aren't finished with the other major things you want to do? :glare:
-Also got to all of the Goddess Springs. So I managed to get a scale from each dragon.
-Found the White Horse, which is possibly the descendant of Zelda's horse in the memory scenes. And just as you would expect, the Horse takes a good while to bond with and tame. And you also need a good amount of stamina to stay on when you first mount the horse. I didn't want to name the horse Epona, so I just went with Shiro for something basic, but sensible.
-I've also defeated a few Lynels since the Barbarian Armor requires Lynel stuff to upgrade. That being said, Stasis+ is a huge boon against them. And at the same time, the Lynels have such good equipment. From the White Lynels, you get a Bow from them that not only has 38 Attack, but also fires 3 arrows at the same time. Easily one of the best bows to get.
-And I've also gotten the Ancient Armor Set. I'm greatly amused how Link's hair grows longer when wearing the helmet armor. :smirk: But that being said, the extra defense against Guardians will be helpful.
-Need about 48 more shrines left and I'm not even dang close to finding all the Korok seeds. At the very least, I've been having less moments where I've been having to throw or drop weapons in order to get other ones. But that doesn't mean it doesn't happen anymore. It still happens......a lot...
Either way, still having lots of fun with Breath of the Wild. So much to do.

Don't worry, it's just for an event. And they can't be revived within that event, you still get to keep them in the main game.

you know how you are taking a test but you know you failed it so you stop trying and watch time tic by? Thats how I felt today

well, time for me to stop playing the game. Having no permadeath is what kept me playing
It's just for an event.

I don't see any indication of the characters not being able to be revived just within that event.

Although I understood that it means permadeath only in context of that event, so in the worst case it should amount to people avoiding that event entirely.

I managed to get FEH to work on Bluestacks at an amazing 10 FPS
Got about 25 Orbs for just logging in. Thanks I guess.
Gonna try to get Lucius, Jaffar and Ninian now
Why "O" and not "S"?

Probably because in Hindi, "superlative/super/special" doesn't begin with the letter S
Actually, what does it stand for anyways?

O stands for Outstanding. Really, that's the reason.

And about that, higher education in India is entirely in English actually.

Well I mean, in the US at least, the letters don't actually stand for anything, beyond maybe F for Fail.

Well, a newly released Dorkly documentary video explains why there was a long absence of Pokémon Rusty (and a decrease in sprite-based video game animations in general): They got jobs.

But I'm glad they're making one more season of Rusty. Can't wait for Saturday for it!

So in some sadder news, some very reliable sources (I'd link, but the website is getting 503'd) are saying that Lego Dimensions is getting quietly cancelled, and that they'll finish up Year 2 only, and not the original three year plan.

I gotta say, that really sucks if it's true. I was waiting to jump in in case a Switch port happened, but it looks like that won't be happening. And if the Skylanders rumor is also true, it means that amiibo is the last surviving toys to life line left.

I was hoping they'd add Jack Sparrow to year three. Oh well, despite the bugginess of year two, at least some cool sets came out throughout the game's lifespan. I mean, Chell and Sonic have Lego minifigures now. That's awesome. :p

Senator Armstrong was a monster. Only person that came close was Jetstream Sam. That's what politics and nanomachines do to you.

Now this is the second to last Metal Gear Solid poll, using two more spinoff characters and a few canon ones. These are Bladewolf, Mistral, Volgin, and Solidus Snake.

There was a problem fetching the tweet

Now if you excuse me, I need to help someone finish off these cheese fries.

Just about everyday you taunt me with this. >__>

Spent the 80 orbs I built up with the new banner and got a 4* Kagero at least, my second most wanted. Plus 4* Chrom and Priscilla. When reinforcements and defense get added in I'll be interested to see if healers become more impactful, support has always been my favorite in RPGs.

Just beat Breath of the Wild.
Wow.
What a horrible final boss and ending.
I can see how some people feel that way with Dark Beast Ganon because you can beat him with your eyes closed. I didn't mind it so much because the game was 100% about the journey for me, going into the Sanctum was my call to conclude the adventure, and it was epic despite being no harder than the previous bosses. As for the ending, I'm not sure what is so bad about it, the world can begin recovering and Zelda can finally be who she wants to be.

Going for Volgin.

He has lightning, something the others don't have. And he's badass.

So Toys to Life confirmed to be in the same hole as motion controls.

A mostly dead genre-of-sorts that only Nintendo still actively support*.

*not counting certain long running series like Just Dance.
