So apparently the Wii U is definitely going to stop being produced now.

So much for "NX won't replace Wii U".

Well, I've been looking up a bit of speculation, and it was suggested at one point that they might have Obi-Wan'd us with that phrase.

Basically it's possible that it actually refers to the NX not being backwards compatible with the Wii U.

So that phrase WOULD be correct. . .in a manner of speaking.

After all, you can't outright REPLACE the Wii U with the NX if the NX can't play all your old Wii U games. You'd still need your Wii U to play all of those games. That also falls into the "grab a Wii U while you can" category.

Basically two contradictory statements that can still technically both imply the same thing.

To be honest, when i heard the whole "NX is not going to replace the Wii U" thing, i didn't believe it for a second. Especially when they are pulling a Twilight Princess with Breath of the Wild.

Also for anyone who is interesed, the NX version is gonna have "Different Visuals, but the same experience" I don't wanna jump into conclusions, but that likely means that the game will likely look better on the NX because.....it's the NX.

Oh and now we know why the game was delayed.

To be fair, wasn't the NX intended to come out sooner originally? Plus, wasn't that said before Iwata passed away? I guess a lot of stuff and plans changed, but that could also be due to the Wii U doing poorly(which a lot of it is Nintendo's fault, like poor advertising, lack of power/being hard to developer for in the case of 3rd party support, and the Tablet costing a crapload of money to fix/replace).

I mean, it's too bad, but it might be better to let it go before they lose more money. It was a cool idea for a system, but the cost to produce it is a lot higher than it should be. The tablet, again, is a big problem. It costs too much to make, and to fix. So I can see them dropping it to move on and save a lot of money overall. Only having to fix it at best should make them a little more money, depending on how much it cost to produce it in the first place(it depends if they're simply fixing it with tools, replacing tons of parts, giving you an entirely new one, etc.)

That's what makes this annoying, I don't know why they keep lying about it when it was obvious the NX was gonna replace it from the beginning. The Wii U is not sustainable past this year and the the lack of effort going into Wii U games for this year (Zelda is the exception, but it's also coming to NX) just proves it.

Well Breath of the Wild had all touch screen controls removed in order to be identical between Wii U and NX, so anything with touch controls is right out in terms of being ported unedited.

Heck, that even includes Splatoon and Smash, come to think of it. Inkstrikes for the former and screenshot doodling and stage builder for the latter. And Miiverse compatibility for both.

If they want to pull those features or modify how they're used then those games might see ports, but if they're altering that much then they might see a larger degree of alterations than that. Or perhaps they'd just skip porting and outright go for sequels.

I personally think that Nintendo surveyed hundreds of third-parties to evaluate how much power they want the NX to be. And I think most will say equivalent or more than the Xbox One.

Last boss is literally a glitched queen sectonia flower head(from kirby),on a pokey body from mario.
And the arena looks like a crappy version from polygon man's arena from PSABR.

Confirmed, i checked.

Makes sense since you can fight against the Final Boss of the game from the beggining. (by strong i assume that means Link can move rocks and stuff without any sort of bracelet.)

It's kinda creepy. Many of the information detailed here matches with many of the new infromation we got recently.

The only things that are not in this game (yet) are things like the Flying Animal Companion and Tingle and the Beedle.

Maybe it's just coincidence....................or maybe not.

Not surprising but now that we have confirmation, do you guys think they are trying to copy the wii's success? Which based on comments here and there, it might actually be working. Only time will tell though.

I think they will have BC and every game will be available. There either be gamepad support( but it won't be the primary controller), or the NX will have a new way of making touch screen/bottom screens better. If they don't do either. Then Smash bros definitely makes the most sense as it be a great kickoff to the NXs life cycle. Mario Kart 8 could make sense to, but I wouldn't deem it likely. It's still popular and a pretty good entry in the series. Throw in more characters and a few new cups, bring back older modes and that sells it right there. Pokken also makes sense since it launched late into the Wii U lifecycle. Mario Maker and splatoon could be used as reasons to still play your wii u, and keep them going till an NX sequel at some point.

And While I don't think it's as likely, a Hyrule Warriors port again would just be funny to see. Another Warriors could definitely happen with the success of Zelda though. I'd take a guess and say that Fire Emblem could be next. IT allows so many options and there are a lot of fan favorites they could use, plus it follows a similar front to Zelda. Mixed class weapon game, a generally fixed story in which you fight for what's right, etc. It works well since they have the main warrior games focusing on similar concepts.

I could see this, but as I mentioned above, I wouldn't be surprised to see an alternate to the Gamepad that works the same, but feels better in the hands of the player. It will be interesting to see what they do for Wii U games though.

They realized that shantae could accomplish more then them, even with a lower budget, so they just gave in. Mighty No ( belongs to Wayforward now.

I was miffed the whole time at the game because it looked like it was an exact carbon copy of Mega Man with the serial numbers filed off with no originality to it's name that Inafune only created to cash in on a Henny Penny wave of paranoia.

It turns out they tried something original after all, and it somehow demonstrated even MORE that they were incapable of coming up with anything original by having the attempt at originality utterly suck.


If you guys want something styled like an old Mega Man game to an extent, I'd recommend Shovel Knight instead. The requests for him to be in Smash are a bit of an overstatement of his value, but at least then you'll have a game that actually tries to be original and manages to benefit greatly from it. Also it's a knight with a shovel, so that's always a plus.

I just realized that the flying mount being referred to in the Zelda leak might be Loftwings.

I also think it's the Loftwing, especially because the artstyle of the game has that certain Skyward Sword feel to it, epsecially on Link's design, so the Loftwing wouldn't look too out of place.

I think Beddle will definitely be in Zelda U. Tingle as well. They both could travel the world selling items and maps like wind waker. It be a good way to navigate the world a little easier.
