W/E happens don't panic...
Been thinking more on ideas for a playable Zelda...
More Spin-offs...the easy way out...since Smash and Hyrule Warriors are the primary games where we can actually get a playable Zelda...but I'm talking a pure starring role for her, rather than another All-star crossover...
Split campaigns...You get to choose which path you want to play...Play as Link you get the Path of Courage, play as Zelda, the Path of Wisdom (perhaps even a Path of Power if you want to play Ganondorf wynaut?)...but the idea is pretty much like in Skyward Sword except you can choose either Link's or Zelda's point of view...some areas can only be accessed with whichever character, perhaps after certain events are cleared some areas will now be opened (because the other character would've cleared that area at that time) and some events can cross between both campaigns such as co-operative boss fights or during certain cutscenes...kinda like in Sonic Adventure 2 for example...of course I did have this idea long before 'breaking the conventions' happened with BotW since this sort of story would ruin the freedom in an open world...
Sharing the Spotlight...Didn't really know how to label this one but in certain games like Resident Evil and Final Fantasy for example sometimes you get to play as different characters for one reason or another...Perhaps starting the game you could play as Zelda to go in search of Link or something to get his journey going or perhaps partway through Link gets injured/missing/unconcious/killed and Zelda takes initiative for a time...past Zelda games have allowed for a small time to play as other characters such as Kafei in Majora's Mask for example...
Items/Game Mechanics...going off the idea behind the Command Melody from Wind Waker or guiding Zelda's Phantoms in Spirit Tracks...perhaps there are certain elements of a game that allows the player to take control of another character...not exactly the most prominent way to do it, but it's one that definitely can work (because it already has) to make Zelda playable in a mainline title...
