Alot of it could be simply diagonsis as well. Pretty much running software that connects and disconnects repeatly to test for delays, problems, and so on.

Nice find. It wouldn't be hard to imagine that they've had this many connections combined since the 16. There's a ton of testing that goes into this game.

These are number of connections. Not number of individual wiis. Go to wifi.com they show the same stats of released games.

"[NDS] Mario & Sonic at the Olympics - 7 connections" lol bad game i guess
But at least theyre checking p on brawl. It would suck if they like delayed the online play after wwe actually get brawl

game has really cool minigames by the way, but at the end its pretty dull as a game itself, you always pick the mini games, so, as you pick a game, you can change your character strategically to win the game... would of been better if it had a mario party style system, or just an event that pulls you like 10 random mini games... i wouldnt reccomend the game honestly

and actually, youre commenting on the NDS game one (not the wii one), which isnt released yet... its on a minor testing or something i guess

confirmed. Sending supplies.
What exactly is a connection if not a Wii?
Any time when 2 systems are linked. If I played with you, then that's 1 connection. If I were to play with someone else, that's another connection. One person can make an infinite amount of connections. For all we know, they may just have 15 Wiis and constantly connecting them, testing online features and such.

It's our turn to track down one of those 4000+ beta testers and start getting the key answers. Falcon? Sheik? Soooo many questions !

You think they would have that many connections? I dunno, I think there is more testing than that going into it.
Super Mario Club is pretty much solely Nintendo of Japan's testing centre, and remember that the amount of connections doesn't reflect the actual people with games - it shows the amount of times someone's connected to the interwebs with a game.

There seems to be some disagreement...

Over 4000 testers already? I'm surprised that there aren't more info leaks.

So, I wonder which 4000 people were issued the Beta's. Nice find.
I guess this confirms that brawl has gone gold. OH FRUGGUN YEAH!

EDIT: I just found out that they could just have two wii's with the game and play 4000 vs matches. Never mind. They never issued anything. :(

CRAZY!!!

"The number of connections listed in here is not unique connections, just the total number of connections for the service during the past week."

the fact tht there was 4000+ connections doesnt mean there's 4000 copies of the game or 4000+ beta testers. they couldve probably used 20 wiis with like 100 beta testers and played 4000 matches online altogether

I'm sure people at Nintendo are playing Brawl online.

You gotta do stuff like stress tests at this point. And other activities to make sure that it works when the public gets it.

Heck, in a month or so, reviewers will probably be playing online since they get the game early.

And no, this doesn't mean that the game is the final version (although it very well could be). Might be a closed beta test.

Then again, its so close to the Japanese release, I'm sure they've finalized the game.
