No, but this bodes well for Ottawa.

2008
Leafs @ 5th overall: Luke Schenn (D) - Bust
Sens @ 15th overall: Eric Karlsson (D) - Norris

2012
Leafs @ 5th overall: Morgan Reily (D)
Sens @ 15th overall: Cody Ceci (D)

If history repeats itself Ottawa just got another Norris Winner (and Toronto got another Bust)

also, is your tag by any chance Ryan Nugent-Hopkins?

I don't follow the NHL anywhere near the extent of a diehard fan, but I do love the sport. I'm a Mighty Ducks fan (Yeah, I know, the movies had an influence) since 1996. Teemu Selanne and JS Giguere are my two favorite Ducks of all time. I really wish Anahiem had not traded away/released Giguere in 2008.

Looking forward to next season. This last one was amazing, especially all the playoff games that went to OT. There is nothing like OT in the NHL playoffs. There is always some high intensity to it and no commecial breaks!

Yep, met him once and can't get over how great he now.

Good thing Oilers didn't pick Ryan Murray if they had I would've switched to the sens or jets or something.

To update evrybody with the recent news.

Dallas trades Ott and Pardy to the Sabres for Derek Roy

No news from Praise or suter

Anybody want to talk about REALLY bad picks this year, I think the worst one was Pittsburgh trading Jordan Staal and picking Derick Poulilot over Tervauain, Foresberg, and Grigerenko

I also Canucks fans to MURDER Justin Shultz tough luck *****s!!!

This. This is an enjoyable thread.

I'm a Rangers and Blackhawks fan. I live in Pittsburgh for school.....but as a Clevelander I am obligated to root against the Penguins.

lol that's no reason. I live in Toronto, but I root for both the Leafs and the Sens. The only time I root against one is when they are playing each other, and on those occurrences I root for the team that would be best for both teams to win. (E.G. When they played in Ottawa on March 17th I was rooting for Ottawa because they were trying to make the playoffs while the Leafs were chasing a top 5 draft pick.)

Edit: Sullivan to Phoenix- 1 year, $1.85 miilion

2nd Edit: Suter and Parise BOTH go to Minnesota, apparently on 13 year, $98 million total each.

Sure it is :3 Bahaha (okay not really)
The Cleveland/Pittsburgh football rivalry extends to all other sports. It's dumb, but I have family from the 'burgh/dad has coworkers who are Pens fans, so it makes for some friendly competition. Especially during this year's playoffs. Dad got bragging rights for his Rangers at work while I got to harass my cousin after the Flyers beat the Pens. And I don't even like the Flyers.

And to be honest, I dislike a lot of teams just because I get really devoted to the teams I watch. Happens in every sport I like, it's just especially fierce for baseball and hockey xD

I've decided to provide links to sources for the rest of my free agent signings so you guys can read some stuff about them if you want to

Lightning sign Teddy Purcell to a 3 year contract extension, financial terms not released

Rangers sign Jeff Halpern, 1 year $700,000

Columbus trades BJ Crombeen and a 2014 5th round pick to Tampa Bay for two 4th round picks, one in 2013 one in 2014

EDIT: Here's some links you guys might find useful
Free agent signing tracker This has a list of all Free Agents signed since July 1st
List of remaining Free Agents Sorted by team and Status
Top 30 Remaining Free Agents
All Trades that happened this offseason

You guys are really inactive >: (

Ottawa Signs Chris Neil to a 3 year contract extension for 1.9 Million dollars per. That's less money than the 2 Million dollars per year he was making on his previous 3 year contract, so I'm happy!

Anyone want to make their top 10 prospects list? You can also give them a prospect grade 10 being the best and 1 being the worse (Please be realistic, no, Schenn is not a 10.0
And also add a letter grade for how likely they'll succeed, to lazy to make your own? rip them from hockey's future
Heres mine

1. Nail Yakupov 9.0C
This is quite obvious, best goal scoring prospect right now.
2. Vladimir Tarasenko 8.5C
Russian streak time
3. Evgeny Kuznetsov 8.5C
13 points in WJC? I'll take that!
4. Dougie Hamiltion 8.5C
Best defence prospect, nuff said
5. Jonathan Hurberdeau 8.0(5?)B
Ugh, me no leik french dude
6. Mikeal Granlund 8.0B
Eww... minny
7. Mikhail Grigrenko 8.5D
Bad work ethic and Russian Factor
8. Jacob Markstorm 8.0D
Best Goalie Prospect
9. Mika Zibanejad 8.0C
No comment
10. Jaden Schwartz 8.5C
This is a question mark

Notables:
Sven Baerchi 7.5B
Emerson Etem 8.0C
Joe Morrow 7.5C
Oscar Klefbom 8.0C
Ryan Murray 7.5B
Brandon Gormley 8.0C
Brendan Smith 8.0C
Justin Shultz 8.0C
Filip Foresberg 8.0C

Habs resign Blake Geoffrion 1 year, about 800k 4th generation Hab lol

The Kings resigned Dwight King, now every player who played for LA in the playoffs is signed for next season.

The Leafs have reportedly made an offer for Jonathan Bernier

I hope this is true and that LA accepts the offer, as long as it's not too much. Bernier has much more potential than Reimer or Scrivens imo.

Another alternative I wouldn't mind would be if we sign Hasek (assuming he's as good as he was)

Now that I think about it, Hasek would be a better choice because of the veteran presence/mentor role he would offer, even if he's not as good as he was.
