There was a listing from Best Buy regarding 3 unnanounced games: Persona 5 for Switch, Metroid Prime Trilogy and A Link to the Past
https://gematsu.com/2019/04/best-bu...etroid-prime-trilogy-and-persona-5-for-switch
Funny thing they revealed Joker's render around April's fools
Interesting. We will have to wait and see in the next Nintendo Direct, whenever that may be, to find out for sure.

All three games would be wonderful. I missed out on Metroid Prime Trilogy 10 years ago. It would be nice to finally play Metroid Prime 2 and 3. Just imagine... if it’s real, I hope it is compatible with the GameCube controller.

Looking like April 11th ain’t gonna happen
We always have tomorrow for them to announce it, but if it turns out not to be the case, then I suppose we'll just have to wait til the E3 presentation for anymore Nintendo/Smash stuff.

No announcement was made today, so the rumor has been proven false.

Guess we're just gonna have to wait until E3 for anymore news unless there's a direct of some sort later this month.

You mean later this April
I believe there will be Smash news this month because both 3.0 and Joker are being released this month and also
A commercial has leaked that Stage Builder will make a return in this game.

Just because we’re not getting a Direct this Thursday doesn’t mean we’re not getting one before the 25th.

I really, really, REALLY don’t see Nintendo dropping Joker, Stage Builder, HRC and a slew of other changes to Smash without ANY kind of formal announcement explaining these things.

HRC was not shown at all in the leaked trailer. It's either online only or it's not coming back at all.

You say that but Pirahna Plant was literally added to the game with practically 0 warning in advance

Piranha Plant also already had video footage.

I'm a non-believer in a direct. I believe there'll be an overview video of 3.0.0 that does not feature Brave, just Stage Builder and Joker (opening with Home-Run Contest). It'll be a low-budget video that doesn't feature Sakurai, just have text on screen in Japanese or English (with subs for many other languages), that isn't any longer than 10 minutes (probably around 6 to 8 minutes). I'm now a believer in 2 reveals at E3, Brave and Character 3 (Brave releases immediately, Chara 3 is to be released August, both are revealed with taglines and gameplay unlike Joker), alongside anything significant from 4.0.0 and 5.0.0.

I dunno, even if we didn't get a direct this week I feel like some new information is imminent. Joker and 3.0.0 are right around the corner, and Nintendo is bound to have to some stuff to show off or talk about before E3 like Super Mario Maker 2. I'm not really certain we'll see a lot for Joker yet though since it seems that some of his alts will be related to P5R and we don't get any info on that until the 24th. I'm betting on a Persona 5 Switch port and subsequent Joker release on the 25th at least. Whether that's tied to the 3.0.0 release is honestly debatable.

I've heard speculation that HRC will probably get lumped into Spirits, which I guess I can see happening.
Buff yourself up with spirits and damage and launch the sandbag farther than ever before would probably be the mode's new gimmick.

They will probably want to give the players a bit more incentive to use the Spirits besides WoL and optional VS modes.

Representation by genres in Smash U

Foreword
This representation is an interpretation of the intention of Smash Bros to propose new DLC Fighter "different, to bring a different kind of fun and enjoyment for the player". It's to share a point of view from a classification by genres rather than to announce forecasts. Nothing in this post is authoritative. The classification is non-exhaustive. It's obvious that it is easy to reject any interpretation.

- Fighters from Mother, Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Xenoblade and Persona represent RPG series.
- Assist Trophees from Golden Sun, Kaeru no Tame and Kane wa Naru and Monster Hunter also represent the RPG series.
- Mii Costume from Custom Robo also represents the RPG series. Babylonian Castle Saga and Tales of have ancient Mii Costumes.
- Stages from StreetPass Mii Plaza - Find Mii also represents the RPG series.
- Pokemon and Persona already have new representations in Smash U.
- Final Fantasy and Persona already have represented in DLC.
- Final Fantasy and Persona already are third party licenses.
- The RPG series competing for the DLC are Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts, Fate, NieR, Tales of and Yo-Kai Watch.
Personal prediction : Mother, Pokemon and Xenoblade are the 3 RPG series from Nintendo. Final Fantasy and Persona already are 2 third-party licenses that appear in DLC. To have a 3/3 ratio, Dragon Quest would be the last third party RPG license. Otherwise, how Fate, NieR, Tales of or Yo-Kai Watch could to bring a different kind of fun and enjoyment for the player ?

Classification based from this survey.
- The Fighters from Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing represent the simulation series.
- Assist Trophees from SimCity and Nintendogs also represent the simulation series. Nintendo Wars has an old Assist Trophees.
- Stages from Pilotwings and Tomodachi Life also represent the simulation series.
- Item from Steel Diver also represents the simulation series.
- Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing already have new representations in Smash U.
- Fire Emblem already has a representation in DLC.
- The simulation series competing for DLC are Digimon, Tamagoshi, Harvest Moon, Minecraft and Sakura Wars.
Personal prediction : The two simulation series of Smash Bros already having new representations in Smash U, there would be no new Fighter from simulation game. Otherwise, how Digimon, Tamagoshi or Harvest Moon could to bring a different kind of fun and enjoyment for the player ?
New Info : Project Sakura Wars will be released in 2019/2020.

- The Fighters from Punch-Out !!, Street Fighter and Bayonetta represent the fighting games and beat 'em up.
- Assist Trophees from ARMS, Joy Mech Fight and Virtua Fighter also represent the fighting games.
- Tekken has an old Mii Costume.
- Street Fighter already has a new representation in Smash U.
- Street Fighter and Bayonetta already have a DLC representation.
- Street Fighter and Bayonetta already are third party licenses.
- The fighting games and beat 'em up competing for DLC are Fatal Fury / The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive / Ninja Gaiden and Tekken.
Personal prediction : Street Fighter and Bayonetta already are 2 third-party licenses that appear in DLC, against only 1 Nintendo license, there would be no new Fighter from fighting game or beat 'em up. Otherwise, how Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown, Soul Calibur, Ninja Gaiden or Tekken could to bring a different kind of fun and enjoyment for the player ?

- Fighters from Zelda, Metroid, Castlevania, and Metal Gear represent the action-adventure series.
- Assist Trophees from Dillon's Rolling Western, Fatal Frame and The Mysterious Murasame Castle also represent action-adventure series.
- Metroid and Castlevania already have new representations in Smash U.
- Castlevania and Metal Gear are already third party licenses.
- The action-adventure series competing for the DLC are Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed, Okami, Resident Evil and Shantae.
Personal prediction : Zelda and Metroid are the 2 action-adventure series from Nintendo. Castlevania and Metal Gear already are 2 third party licenses that appear in DLC. With this 2/2 ratio, there would be no new Fighter from action-adventure game. Otherwise, how Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil or Shantae could to bring a different kind of fun and enjoyment for the player ?
Info : in 2016, Platinum Games co-founder Hideki Kamiya has given some very strong hints that he’s planning to make sequels to both Bayonetta 2 and Okami (link).

- Fighters from R.O.B., Pikmin and Pac-Man (+ Dr. Mario) represent the puzzle and labyrinth series.
- Assist Trophees from Bomberman and Devil World also represent the puzzle and labyrinth series. Kuru Kuru Kururin has an old Assist Trophee.
- Mii Costume from Panel of Pon also represents puzzle series.
- Stage from Wrecking Crew also represents puzzle series.
- Items from Clu Clu Land and Rally-X also represent the puzzle and labyrinth series.
- Pac-Man already is a third party license.
- The puzzle and labyrinth series competiting for the DLC are Bobble Puzzle, Puyo Puyo and Tetris.
Personal opinion : Bomberman from Hudson Soft (all Mario Party) or a Fighter using puzzle obstacles, throwing blocks and repelling enemies, could to bring a different kind of fun and enjoyment for the player.

- Fighters from Donkey Kong, Mario, Ice Climber, Kid Icarus (1986), Mega Man, Yoshi, Sonic and Kirby represent the platform series. The total is 7 licenses, 8 with Kid Icarus (1986).
- Assist Trophees from Shovel Knight, The Legendary Starfy also represent the platform series. Drill Dozer has an old Assist Trophee.
- Mii Costume from Chibi-Robo! also represents the platform series.
- Donkey Kong and Mario already have new representations in Smash U.
- Mega Man and Sonic already are third party licenses.
- The platform series competing for DLCs are Banjo, Crash and Rayman.
Personal opinion : Donkey Kong, Mario, Ice Climber, Mega Man, Yoshi, Sonic and Kirby have different gameplay. But how Banjo or Crash could to bring a different kind of fun and enjoyment for the player ?

- Fighters from Duck Hunt, Kid Icarus (2012), Star Fox and Splatoon represent shooting series.
- Assist Trophee from The Sheriff also represents the shooting games.
- Items from Galaxian and Super Scope 6 also represent the shooting games. Perfect Dark has an old Item.
- Splatoon already is a new representation in Smash U.
- The shooting games series competing for the DLC are Doom, Halo, Metal Slug, Overwatch, Sin and Punishment and Touhou Project.

- Fighter from Wii Fit represents the training series.
- Assist Trophees from Art Academy, Brain Age, Nintendo Badge Arcade and Swapnote also represent the training and utility series.
- Mii Costume from Nintendo Labo also represents the training and utility series.
- Stages from The Hanenbow and PictoChat also represents the training and utility series. Miiverse has an old Stage.

- Fighters from Game & Watch and Wario represent rhythm games and mini-games series.
- Assist Trophee from Color TV-Game 15 and Gnat Attack also represents the mini-games.
- Mii Costume from Jam with the Band also represents the rhythm games.
- The rhythm games competiting for the DLC are Hatsune Miku: Project Diva and Rhythm Heaven.
Personal opinion : a Fighter using rhythm combo, cancel the different statuses with QTE and create vibration zones, could to bring a different kind of fun and enjoyment for the player.

- Fighter from F-Zero represents the racing games.
- Excite has an old Assist Trophee.
- Stage from Wii Sports Resort also represents the sport series.
- The sport series competing for the DLC is Jet Set Radio.

- The adventure series competing for the DLC are Ace Attorney and Professor Layton.

If they could do some kind of "Spirits Run" that used spirit puppet fighters and Assist Trophies to fight against, as you collect multiple to use against each other (?) throughout the maze, I'd be down for that. Though the levelling up system icons also exist in the Mii stage in Ultimate.

I'm not sure about Crash (I've only played TwinSanity, Nitro Kart and Tag Team Racing (technically one other game too but I forgot what it was + I had it for a very short amount of time as I think we rented it from a Movie Gallery our town used to have)) but Banjo-Kazooie have tons of stuff they could use in Smash, that image only scratching the surface.

My preferred puzzle rep goes without saying. But I wouldn't call Pikmin a puzzle/labyrinth game. I would sooner call it real-time strategy, though that could be easily debated.

Famitsu readers have chosen 5 games of the Fire Emblem series in their top 20 favorite simulation games.
No game of Firem Emblem in the top 20 favorite RPG.
You really have to make your own judgments without basing your opinions on the words of everyone else, man. Statistics and magazines aren't everything. FE is widely considered to be an RPG. This is legitimately the first time I've ever heard of it as a 'simulation'. Famitsu got that wrong. Surprisingly, journalism and statistics can actually... be wrong.

No leaker has gotten Smash Brothers right consistently. Sakurai has done a good job hiding items and surprising us. I find it odd we haven't had anything yet regarding the other DLC Characters. It is probably taking Sakurai more effort to get the items done correctly and therefore he is having to push back the reveals. I know that he can be a perfectionist.

He probably hasn't started yet on the last couple fighters yet.
Well, he's probably working on the third fighters pass character now at least since Joker and the second character should be coming out fairly soon.

Though that's mainly based on how Sakurai handled the DLC in the last game, we will probably have a better idea in regards to the progress of the other characters via datamines once the update drops (unless they did a good job actually scrubbing everything this time around)
