Obviously, Mew is on the top of my list for Brawl appearances (PC). And ever since Munchlax was confirmed as being a Pokéball item, I figured that the chances of Mew increased (well, the chances for any Pokémon increased really, but you get what I mean). So, I bet you're ready to read a lengthy post of me ranting on about why Mew should be playable, huh? Well, before you begin, know that I know Mew has low chances. But any slim chance is still a chance! Simple enough?--good! Then let's get started with some common arguments.
Mew has been a Pokéball item in the previous games; that won't change.
Actually, it could change, just look at Charizard! Now you might be getting that a lot from other people supporting their Pokémon hopefuls that were Pokéballs in the last two Smash games; well, deal with it, you'll be getting it a lot more in these next three months!
Alright, but we already have Mewtwo, why should Sakurai add another clone?
First of all, Mewtwo is the clone of Mew, so hah! Second of all, I personally think that Mewtwo won't be making it back into Brawl. Ever since Red (PT) was confirmed as a playable character, everyone's been speculating on what his Final Smash might be. Well, a lot of people have come up with the possibility of Red calling upon Mewtwo for his Final Smash, and it seems likely. Also Sakurai stated that not every character from Melee was returning, and he never mentioned anything about just the clones being left-behind. Sure this doesn't actually lower Mewtwo's chances, this is all just my opinion. But yeah, Mew would be somewhat similar to what Mewtwo was in Melee, overall.
As of 9/27/07, Pokémon Trainer's Final Smash is confirmed to not be Mewtwo, but the "Triple Finish" instead. Now what?
Yeah, that update pretty much blew my whole reasoning away; but there's still some hope for Mew, right? Well, maybe not, anymore. Mewtwo is almost a given veteran fighter, now that being a PC is the only reasonable inclusion, and since Sakurai is aiming this game more at villains this time. -sigh-, I'll just keep on hoping-- maybe they'll add both Mew and Mewtwo?
Still, there are a lot of other Pokémon that deserve to make it into Smash before Mew does.
That's a biased statement; no character really "deserves" to be in Brawl. Even popularity doesn't win Sakurai over. Take Samurai Goroh and Munchlax for instance: they were really popular choices in Japan, yet they didn't make the cut. And I think Sakurai even said somewhere that he isn't fond of seeing suggested popular characters for the game. Which leads to more hope for the little guys! Here's the quote: (thanks andrew14j!)

Sakurai said:#201-210: Sakurai says in response to an email asking only for well-known characters (like Mario, Link, etc.) to appear in SSBB, "Asking only for popular characters to appear in Smash...doesn't get me excited".
So that's why Diddy Kong and Ike made it in the game?
No, but it's why Samurai Goroh and Munchlax aren't.
Cross canceled.
Was Mew even on Sakurai's poll?
Eh... no, heheh, you got me there. But like I said, I'm well aware that Mew's chances are rather low. But that still is not a reason to not support your most-wanted character for Brawl!

I tried my best to answer any possible arguments against Mew's inclusion in Brawl. If I forgot something, or if one of you comes up with a genuine argument, then I'll add it above and answer it with my jerk attitude. I hope that the arguments section cleared some things up, and I really hope that you actually read it. 'Cause, you know, that's the whole reason that I created it.
Edit: Moveset removed due to terms of violation... or, something like that.
Phew! That took some time.
Hopefully you can spare some of your time to read before posting?
Yeah, that's that! I'll be editing this post when necessary (like when I decide to add some more pictures, or something). But now that you're done reading, share your thoughts, by posting something intelligent and constructive!
Now, what am I supposed to sa-- oh yeah, Mew for Brawl!
