I apologize if I am posting in the wrong area, or breaking a forum rule. I played 64 smash growing up, but I just recently picked up melee. I feel like I'm decent, but I struggle with lvl 9s, so maybe I'm awful:). Either way, I was curious if there is anyone living in the southern part of wisconsin that would be interested in getting together and playing, or if y'all could direct me to some sites to improve my play. I can fast fall. I have trouble wave dashing, and I don't even know where to begin with l-cancelling. I enjoy captain falcon because he feels so quick. So yeah, I'm hoping I get some responses>.>. Again I apologize if I'm breaking a rule, or am too newb:)

Check the regional forums for players nearby. Attending smashfests and tournaments is the fastest way to improve.

Personally, I still struggle against CPU's in general. Level 9 Marth is annoying as f*ck. Don't be discouraged by your inability to beat a CPU, they're much different than an actual human.

There's a thread somewhere that has a link to each Facebook group for each state. I don't have a link to it right now so look around a bit. There's almost always someone down to play.

The video SAUS linked to is ****ing awesome, be sure to remember everything it talks about. Oh, and check the Falcon sub-board, there's tons of info there you're going to want to learn. Falcon is the best character, you should stick to him ;) :falconmelee:

The boards are pretty lax about the rules, the main thing is just try not to piss anyone off, use the edit button instead of double posting and try to keep on topic if you can help it (implying people do this lol).

Thanks for all the love. I plan on going to the tournament in west MI on the 23rd to get trashed:). I am also practicing everyday. After reading the material you guys linked me to, I'm trying to practice stuff rather than beat the CPUs. SAUS thank you for that video. It has already helped me:)

Join the Wisconsin Facebook group. It was originally specifically for milwaukee but was expanded to all of wisconsin recently. You should have no problem finding someone to play. :)

No problem! New members for the community are really important. Also, getting trashed is where you learn the most :)
