New to Melee, Netplay?

As the title says, fairly new to the game looking for Netplay partners to help pass time and improve before trying tournaments in my region

Hi, first of all let me be the first to welcome you to the most complex fighting game ever. Whether you are coming from smash 4 or jumping in after a long hiatus, you are making a wise decision that will no doubt be filled with tech training, long studies and practicing smash DI with friends. And enlarging your stones because you know, it's melee.

A crt and wii/GC setup is the way to go, but at the start netplay is extremely helpful. Developing fundamentals is a huge piece.

Have been playing for a year and just scratching the surface. I have a group of friends that are around my skill lvl, and a few that are somewhat new and a few from the old breed. At 27 I am playing 15 year olds that can read me ahead by 2 moves. It's frustrating and exhilarating. Don't give up
