While messing around in training mode I found that when in the turn around animation, if I hold there direction I am turning towards while shielding, I do a mini slide. Heres a video of it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_0isyo6n_U

I'm not sure if there's a name for it per se, but it's not a new technique - Diddy Kong in S4 particularly liked to do this to get sliding down tilts, Ally/Mario used this to do slidey-standing grabs often in neutral in s4 too.

Basically every move/action in the game has some variance of how far they can slide, often there's negligible difference.
