A slept on tech in smash 4 has been dubbed "sticky walking" but for the purposes of this post I'm going to call it "sticky running"
The inputs for it are:
Tap forward and then tilt it in the same direction
Basically a foxtrot to a walk
vv(Videos v demonstrating it)vv

With Little Mac in particular, this might be an extremely useful technique.
"Wtf bro this is literally a slower run. It's ****. The only thing you can do out of it is: shield, dash attack, grab, upsmash or jump."

You're missing one thing though: the skid animation for it is really short.
If you foxtrot, sticky run for a really short moment, you pretty much cancel it. Foxtrot shield generally comes out super slow, but with this, it's possible to shave off like five frames and still go the same distance. Shielding isn't your only option, you can also attack, with tilts.
With this, you can extend your range of terror; it can reach really far. (more than a roll even)

It's better than foxtrot perfect pivot (you face the wrong way)

It's better than this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdsnecDzOus and this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6T_edV5d9I (The inputs are audible and therefore is easier to react to, and difficult to master)

It's even better than this: https://youtu.be/iVZQIhEByso?t=1m45s (foxtrot is much faster)

It keeps the full speed of the foxtrot (mac is faster that way), it keeps him facing the right way, it's really hard to tell the difference between a run and a sticky run (making it harder to react to crossups), and it's possible to cancel the foxtrot at varying distances and even extend them.
It allows for more control and utility, and it's strange since it's easier to do than the most of the other techs, and more optimal.
It's also super easy to implement into Mac play because all Mac's I've seen do something similar anyway.

Instead of:
foxtrot away, dash dance, foxtrot back, pp uptilt
it's possible:
foxtrot away, dash dance, Foxtrot Cancel Sticky Run Cancel Down Tilt!
Otherwise known as:
FCKALTHESACRONMS!!
Nah I'm kidding I'll call this fox step

So yeah, I lied in the title, it's not new, but you can now approach with down tilt so I guess that's neat.

(Also this can be done with both special and smash Bidou, just cstick and input a walk)

Was actually curious about this and decided to try it out.
It's cute, but ultimately too slow, and more difficult to input that the other options. This is coming from me trying all of them side by side and using my personal judgement on it of course. And, i did make that momentum pivot video, so i was a tad curious how it stacked up with it.

just my thoughts.

Sticky running is definitely too slow to that's why I only use it to cancel foxtrot
A single fox trot is relatively laggy.
Foxtrot once, input a, and unless you wait for a while, it becomes a dash attack
Halfway through the foxtrot though, you can input another foxtrot, but instead of foxtrotting, this time, input a really short sticky run.
What results, is a quick dash with a stutter into a jab.
I have a replay of me trying to consistently do it day one but unfortunately I can't send it to youtube (I get a black screen on the titling part)
So can I send it to you?

So I was referred here by someone and since smash 4 terminology is all over the place, is there any video showing this?

Presumably it's supposed to be same distance as just fox trot into d tilt, also faster but when I try it seems pretty negligible(near same speed and seems shorter of a distance) but I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly.

Edit: Actually nevermind, after extensively reading comments over and over and practicing, I finally learned when to start the slower run and somewhat learned the cooldown. Once you learn it's actually very useful, maybe not so much in neutral(or maybe it is) but there are definitely situations where I would consider it optimal. Pretty nice to literally duck under a move and be able to stop with less endlag for the perfect whiff punish.
