Here is another stage concept of mine. This one is kind of a successor to an already existing stage. Building upon the elements laid out in the stage preceeding it while adding it's own flair and flavor. This stage will incorporate many elements too it.

Rainbow Road, the iconic track featured in every Mario Kart to date. This track would be the successor to Mario Circuit from Brawl. The stage mechanics would be similar in a sense, where Shy Guys in karts will race along the track and pose as an obstacle. However, there is no layer above so there is not a vertical threat.

The background would take elements from every iteration of Mario Kart post SNES. You would have see the neon constellations from Mario Kart 64 and Double Dash. Falling stars from Mario Kart: Super Circuit, rainbow colored pipes and stars from Mario Kart DS and the track design will be based off of Mario Kart Wii. Inevitably Mario Kart 7 will have a greater impact on the overall track design, but since it is not out as of this time I will focus on Mario Kart Wii. When it does happen the element carried over from Mario Kart Wii in place of the design will be the occasional showering of Star Bits.

There will also be a starry screen floating in the upper right hand sky, allowing you to see where the racers are at and how many are coming down each road.

The stage design would be that of a forked road, with two tracks on the left and right.

A rainbow-eque platform swaying left and right would placed in the gap between the track. Allowing a cohesion to the stage so the big empty gap is not an unnecessary boundary. The track itself cannot be held onto, so trying to recover would only be via the platform. Reason for this is a subtle reference to Rainbow Roads infamous unsafe roads.

Another point is while the stage would be a Mario Kart stage it would kind of represent Mario's sports titles collectively. Which is why most of the tracks will be from his more "festive" spin off series'.

Stage Example:

_______...-----..._______

Stage Name: Rainbow Road
Stage Icon: Mushroom

-Tracks-
Mario Kart Wii - Rainbow Road
Mario Kart Wii - Toad Factory [or obligatory Mario Kart 7 track]
Super Mario Kart - Mario Circuit (Brawl)
Mario Kart 64 - Luigi Circuit (Brawl)
Mario Kart DS - Waluigi Pinball (Brawl)
Mario Tennins/Golf - Mario Tennis / Mario Golf (Brawl)
3D Hot Rally - Title (3D Hot Rally) (Brawl)
Mario Sports Mix - Bowser Jr. Boulevard*
Mario Super Sluggers - Mario Stadium
Mario Strikers Charged - Galactic Stadium
Mario Party - Rainbow Castle ~ In The Mushroom Forest*
Mario Hoops 3 on 3 - Sherbert Land

*: Tracks were taken from other stage concepts and replaced with a more approriate selection.

[Bowser's Castle] New Super Mario Bros. Wii - Volcano
[New Super Mario Land] Super Mario Bros 3. - Overworld Medley

In case anyone might have missed my last stage concept here is the link so you can catch up.

Yet again a great stage Star, I was wondering if Rainbow Road could happen.

Plus it would look great in HD on the Wii U.

Like you said, keeping out third-party characters entirely would not affect sales. The only reason why they may have made a slight adjustment to Brawl's sales is because they were newcomers at the time. The "idiots" who bought the game just for Snake or Sonic won't skip SSB4 because they leave. Sure some of them will rage over it (or at least the "fanboys" will), but if they enjoy the game play, that alone won't stop them from getting the game. Most people who wanted to play as Snake or Sonic in a Smash game probably has already done so in Brawl, so regardless of whenever or not Snake and/or Sonic returns, almost all of the fans will likely carry over to SSB4. Even if it did affect sales, it won't be enough to where Sakurai notices.

Also, most (not all) fans are expecting at least one new guest to arrive as a playable character, especially if third-party characters return. Almost every fighting game has at least one new guest arrive in as a playable character and if guests return, I don't think Smash Bros. should be an exception to that rule. Having the same guests arrive over and over again with no new blood would get very stale to see.If he is unique, then sure.
This is how I feel about the whole roster, especially the Pokemon group. I mean, really? There are over 600 Pokemon but the series won't let us play as different Pokemon. From what I see all over the Internet, most people want the same old Pokemon from Brawl (plus Mewtwo and except Lucario) to return in all future Smash games.

In all future SSB games, the Pokemon group apparently have to look like this:
- Pikachu
- Jigglypuff
- Mewtwo
- Pokemon Trainer Red with Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard
- flavor of the month (Lucario, Zoroark, etc.)

Nice concept stage Star!!
This is how I feel about the whole roster, especially the Pokemon group. I mean, really? Basically this is the format that I always go by, though I will have to say that Pokeman Trainer might get replaced by a new generation trainer; with that said the trainer is staying but is most likely to see a newer generation trainer like N or a 5th gen trainer for example.

As for the "Flavor of the Month" I'd say it's either going to be Zoroark or Victini at most, while Lucario is likely to come back it would be REALLY ackward to see Lucario and Mewtwo without a new Pokemon rep, I mean Sakurai is known for doing that, if anything I'm guessing Lucario doesn't fall under that 5th category, rather up against Mewtwo. Any new Pokemon we haven't seen as of yet would surely fall under this, instead I'd put Meowth or Genesect as well along with Victini and Zoroark.

Alright guys, I've been working on this one for quite awhile. This is a stage concept of sorts, more or less it is a concept on how stages would return in Super Smash Bros. 4.

All the stages listed below have their music listed, some of them are unchanged while others have. An asterisk is next to a track that was not previously native to that stage in Brawl. If you see songs that are missing do not worry as most all of the missing tracks are relocated to other stages within concepts of mine. Songs from stages not carried over have been split up as well. If you haven't noticed by now I am intricately weaving the track listing. By the time my stage concept series is complete you will be able to see that.

So while it may not be the most exciting of "stage concepts", take a look none the less!

NOTE: I realize Battlefield and Final Destination will likely undergo a cosmetic change so do not get hung up on the picture too much. It is simply for reference.

No, I was showing how the stages would be affected musically in comparison to my other stage concepts. As well as showing what stages I project to be returning. Very few stages had new music added to them. Most were just shuffling the floating music that no longer had a home.

Since I have had several questions directed towards me on how Brawl stages returning would play out, I decided to create an, albeit large, example post. Giving people an idea of how it could play out. Like I said, it is simply my "concept" on returning stages. Perhpas a write up on my logic for selecting the ones I did would have been better? But I already did that so most everyone here is already privy to my reasoning.

Well, reasoning behind you stage selection would be nice but isn't necessary, only if you feel like expressing your points even further to convince the crowd, at least that what I would do.

Okay....so now I see why you did so, it was weird of some of the Melee stages in Brawl barely got any new music, plus the equalizer was horrible IMO, they simply didn't sound exactly the same as before which I actually prefer over the "new" versions.

Falling attacks like.....

:phone:
are you talking about spikes/meteor smashes?
So this is a late reply (was 4am then I finally passed out)
I meant falling Dairs, I didn't find them to be too practical but then again I haven't played Brawl in over a year so my judgment on Brawl is a little old.

@M&S
By Spikes, did you mean like Pika's Upair? I always used the term Spike instead of Meteor Smashes

NO!! I meant the damaging effect that D-air's damage out, I know that mechanic isn't going anywhere. :p

I also believe hitboxes might be improved or will be presented in a different style that hasn't been seen, by this I mean that Sakurai noted on his Twitter that he was studying Ken's hitbox frames, meaning he's interested in improving and/or changing the mechanic, hopefully his team will help him out with this, because as we all know we already know how Brawl turned out to be because of Sakurai working on it tbe most and that was well......

How would you guys have felt if the roster for Brawl ended up like the one below? How do you feel the transition from Melee went? Well? Poorly?

Melee had 25 (Plus Sheik)

"Alternate Brawl" has 36 (Plus ZSS and Sheik)

Thoughts on the character picked?

What's up with that second roster? Anyway the transition should be the same if we see a pattern, since we had 25 in Melee, 38 in Brawl, then maybe SSB4 should have at least 50, but then again I'm not going to start being optimistic about it, so i'd say were likely to get at least 43 character minimum(transformations included)

OH!! Well I was just talking about the mechanic :O

But anyway, "Ken" Ken, not SF Ken right? :troll:
You think he'll try to fix disjointed hitboxes? Otherwise, how else could they be changed?
Speaking of mechanics tho, I really liked Oasis' idea of follow up attacks, it'd make an interesting play and the "hidden" would be fun to find. Hidden hit boxes are fun to find too, like YLin's fire sword (maybe Toon Link could use that instead of that risked suicide Dair)

I'm guessing we'll get 51 characters 53 if you include the form changes. Anyway what do you guys think about Bowser Jr. getting in?

53 characters? I doubt it that much, hopefully it will happen, like I've said if I was looking at it optimistically I'd say 51 characters with transformations included, but my stance on the roster is more like 47/48 characters simply because I don't believe in Sakurai so much, he might end up well....dissapointing that's I don't want to look at it with 50+ characters.

As for Bowser Jr., yeah he most definetly has a chance, so much that I believe he has a slight lead over Toad simply because he's relevant as well as a more prominent character, Toad yes; he has chances as well, though IMO Bowser Jr. is slightly more probable. As for Paper Mario, I hope he gets represented by his own series rather than the actual Mario franchise itself, that way he wouldn't hurt Toad's or Bowser Jr.'s chances, I believe he's a prominent character that can hold his own series withb3 major games being successful, not to mention the upcoming 3DS title which will significantly help him out to possibly being considered.

55? Please..that's even worse, it isn't even realistic at this point considering Sakurai doesn't simply want to JUST add more characters and stages. <_<

Oops, sorry. That's just me wishing again. Realistically, I'm guessing 40.

Well, I wouldn't take it so hard lol.. I'd like to see that number myself, though I'm highly doubting it will happen.

I also wouldn't say 40 since Brawl had 39 characters; that would mean that alot of vets would probably get cut or a few newcomers would be added; unless you're being pessimistic about it? Realistically speaking I see at least 47/48 with tranformations included, but if for some reason Sakurai decided to expand on it I'd say 51/52 would be a good number ONLY if I were to look at it optimistically of course.

Yeah, I'd say between 44-48 seems realistic enough, expecting more isn't going to help since we might get shattered by Sakurai himself, I'm not going set myself up for dissapointment again.
