So apparently Myth and Monsters is sort of kind of refferenced. Palutena gets turned to stone! After she gets possessed....and is crazy for 3 years...because there's a time skip in KIU...and then you have to fight her. Not much is described there about it, but apparently she can shoot energy blasts or something. So there's that. Apparently it went really quick, but from what I can tell, most Uprising bosses go down pretty quickly.

So how is Myths and Monsters referenced?

Something tells me the Medusa fan base is going to come and go in waves in the next few months. Medusa will go from being really popular (and her fans may or may not be very defensive when asked about her chances) to being rarely or never discussed. After a few months, Medusa might be seen as an afterthought when we discuss Kid Icarus characters; much like what Ghirahim and to an extreme extent, Dark Samus have become to their respective franchises when discussing character chances of being playable in these forthcoming smash bros games...

From what I can tell, she becomes and ally again...and so do Viridi and Dark Pit. No clue about the ending, other than Hades is the final boss.

I've played Kid Icarus, but I haven't gone very far in it. I really haven't put my all into beating it, like I do when I beat hard old games (like Zelda II, which I have beaten). I beat the ending last level through cheat codes, though. That ending is awesome.

Also Triple Dash, does Of Myths and Monsters fix a lot of the glitches and issues of the original=??? I've always wanted to play a more perfectly knitted (and easier, lol!) version of the original Kid Icarus. The game is a classic, but it just feels a tad... off, ya' know=???

It improves on the original in a lot of ways, so I'm pretty sure most people would like it better. The only real down side is that the music isn't as good as the original.

It's already out on the VC in both Japan (reverse import!) and Europe, so it's only a matter of time before we get too.

Medusa has been around since the begining, she may not be too prominent in KIU, but she is definitely going to be THE most supported character this year for Kid Icarus (I'm betting even more than Palutena)

If Medusa does end up getting in Smash 4 as a playable character, she will most definitely be a hidden character and her moveset will at least borrow the specials from Palutena (meaning she will be anywhere from a Lucas/Wolf clone to a Melee styled clone).

However, Medusa will probably have detractors that say:
1. Medusa should not be in for "insert plot reasons".
2. That three characters is way too much for a series that was just resurrected.

This scenario reminds me of Ike with Fire Emblem pre-Brawl, except Paletuna isn't all but confirmed like Ike was (because Ike is a BEAST!!!).

Exactly. I think a lot of the amount of support (in terms of numbers and the amount of fans who are "rabid") depends on how good Kid Icarus Uprising really is, and how popular Kid Icarus Uprising is. However, I doubt Medusa would ever be one of the top ten or so most supported characters pre-Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U.

Dixie Kong could end up being the most desired potential newcomer character (which doesn't include Melee cuts)... if, of course the Big Three as I call them are confirmed fairly early (Ridley, Mega Man, and King K. Rool). The hype for Dixie Kong could be off the wall. I think once the ball gets rolling, she will be at least one of the top 15 or so most popular potential newcomer character consistently. I wouldn't be surprised if she was 1 of the 5 most desired potential newcomers. She almost was added in Brawl, which doesn't hurt.

It was the gayesy remark I've heard, so I countered "What about Ice Climbers?" This was his legit response.

Okay, that's all fine and dandy. Just as long as you don't expect that many characters to be playable. I don't want your hopes to be killed like folks on here pre-Brawl did who were expecting 50+ characters. I hate seeing people have unreal expectations and then have them shattered. Seeing that happen to others makes me sad, actually.

I remember I was a part of a social group in college when I first went to my current college, and some kid tried to straight up start a fight with me and this other guy. We're both over 6 feet tall, and this kid is maybe 5'8, and much less physically fit.

Basically stupid people are... well... stupid. Be smart and just get over them, ignore them, and maybe block. That's what really annoys people. Everyone wants to be loved, some people want to be hated, but nobody wants to be ignored or have people feel indifferent towards them. I find this to be true in just about everything.

For those saying Medusa may not get in because she's not the main villain in Uprising. That doesn't really impact her chances of getting in at all, because she's still the most recognized of all the KI villains and has more ties to the overall story and Pit/Palutena than any other villain. And also she's requested and has played a major villanous role in more than just Uprising. Look at Black Shadow. He's generally agreed upon as one of the most viable characters for a second F-Zero character other than Goroh, yet he was revealed to not be the main villain of F-Zero GX, Deathborn was. But does all that suddenly take away from Black Shadow's chances just because he wasn't the main villain of the latest F-Zero game (well, other than the GBA game)? No, because like Medusa, Black Shadow is the closest thing to a recurring and well-known villain that the series has, seeing as he was in both F-Zero X and GX, and both are also decently requested characters. So, with all that said, while I still think Palutena will probably get in before her, in my honest opinion, it's silly to think that Medusa's chances to get into Smash are suddenly in jeopardy just because she isn't the main villain in Uprising

Also Metal Overlord, the reason this Medusa controversy is such a big deal is:
1. We will make it a big deal: Medusa's fan base will lose morale, and many will stop supporting her as actively. I wanted Dixie Kong just as badly as I did in Brawl now, except now I realize she has a great shot, whereas pre-Brawl I thought her chances were minimal. Stuff like that impacts how much/actively someone supports a character.

2. Sakurai will probably expect this: I mean, he made both series. He had to know this was coming. Maybe he did this on purpose.
