An outrage will likely break out if we find out that Ridley isn't playable for Smash 4. So he's typically big, so what, Bowser went through the same process as well, and look at his status.

Watch the Wii U get a name change. Then Universe will look a bit silly. SSB Universe and SSB Dimensions would have a nice kind of relation to one another though. Still Super cheesy though.

Have to push for SSB Arena and SSB Tour again. BD
Universe is very cheesy. Makes me want Nachos.

"Super Smash Brotherhood" or "Super Smash Bros. Quad" :awesome:

All they have to say is "Yes, Ridley will be in it this time."

Don't need a name or trailer.
I'm not holding my breath for Ridley, and I note that many people are. We need to chill on Ridley. I know he's deserving, but so was Charizard, and it took three generations of SSB to get him in besides as a PokeBall.

Yeah, and we'll get over it again, just like in Melee and Brawl.

That's what we all are expecting isn't it?
Expectations... Victini for SSB4? Like I said, we shouldn't hold our breaths, but Ridley definatly should be a newcomer.

Hey, no biggie. Just because I want him with the desire that burns like a thousand suns doesn't mean I'll hold my breath for him.
After he became a boss in Brawl, I'm a little less hopeful... :(
But yeah, I'll keep the faith. Maybe Sakurai hears the fans once every 10 years...

Also, that movie, Prometheus, that is coming this year, could boost his chances.
See what I did there?

And about the name, I think they should just stick to the "fight synonyms" pattern.
Super Smash Bros. Clash :awesome:

Ridleys chances of getting in are about 90%. Few characters have the support of this guy. I mean like only Mewtwo, King K. rool, and Little Mac surpass him. He is going to get in. Over all other metroid candidates. If some one with almost no chances gets in like R.O.B, the ridley will be in ssb4.

I like Super Smash Bros. Clash as a name and Super Smash Bros. Fracas

What people don't realize is that the Falcon Punch is not what CAUSED the explosion in the anime, that was already going to happen regardless. The Punch was to prevent Black Shadow from ESCAPING the explosion. All while being a throwback to Smash Bros.

If you actually watch the episode, it'd be very clear.
Yeah, but where's the magic in that? That just turns it from Falcon being a god to being a semi-god. >_>

Easily beats them out. Oh yeah which ghirahim would you prefer? A dual bladed Ghirahim, or Single sword ghirahim?

I like both and don't care which one gets into SSB4.

I'm tired of calling this damn game Smash 4. PLEASE Nintendo, just give us the official name for this if anything

:phone:
I hear you. Even calling the game "Super Smash Bros. Wii U" would be enough. It's just simpler to say "Smash 4" right now.

You pretty much know my answer by now.

It's funny how Metroid is one of the biggest Nintendo franchises[I even compare it to Mario and Zelda] and it still has only one character in SSB.
No, Zero Suit Samus doesn't count as one.
From what I can gather, the following are the biggest franchises of the bunch...

1: Mario Universe
2: Pokemon
3: The Legend of Zelda
4: Kirby

In a way, that stands to reason why the top 3 franchises get the most reps. In Brawl, the Mario Universe has 8 characters (this does include the Donkey Kong, Yoshi, and Wario franchises); Pokemon has 6 (not counting the Pokemon Trainer); Zelda has 5. Kirby is tied with Star Fox, however, since both franchises have 3 playables.

Really?
I really can't see Kirby being bigger than Metroid. Mainly because Kirby had his
friggin' awesome
RETURN last year...

Metroid is not actually that big. I mean, it's hard to gauge an overall... PRESENCE (I guess is the word) to say how "big" it is. Compared to those other series, it doesn't have a whole lot of games, and it actually doesn't have a whole lot of sales under its belt. I'm pretty sure Kirby IS actually a higher-selling series than Metroid.

I think DK has higher-sales than Kirby though.

I am really impressed that Uprising's major plot spoiler was kept underwraps only a week before the release of the game.....
the major spoiler is that Medusa is basically taken care a little over 1/3 into Uprising, and the real antagonist is Hades.

Sakurai made everyone think a certain way about Uprising and gave absolutely no hints that
there was another villain behind Medusa, and moreover, that this villain would actually be the main guy pretty early on. He even went to the lengths of commissioning an OVA about Medusa to dupe people into thinking she is the main villain. She is prominently featured everywhere. It would have been like if Ghirahim was hyped up a ton before release, only to be replaced by Ganondorf three dungeons into the game.

By comparison, nearly all of Skyward Sword's major spoilers were leaked almost a month before release. Sakurai really did pull a fast one on everyone. It really makes me think about what he possibly has planned for Smash 4.

The DK series in total sales is basically on the same level as Zelda. Its Mario and Pokemon that are on a whole other tier in terms of sales though. There is no reason why DK should not get two newcomers in Smash 4.

Haha, it's probably my bias.
I think I love the series so much, I can't think it as something smaller than Mario, or Zelda.
I always saw Metroid as one of Nintendo's 3 big guns in the not-portable consoles. The other 2 were the obvious Zelda and Mario.
[but in my defense, I wasn't talking exactly about sales...]

Well, I think it's safe for me to say that it's bigger than Fire Emblem, the series with 2 characters...

Alll jokes aside, Mii's are PROBABLY gonna get in. I mean, c'mon now, they even made it in Mario Kart 7. Would be really strange for them not to be in Smash in some kind of way

I'm just looking on Wikipedia aaand... I guess Nintendo owns Brain Age, right? Apparently that series has more sales than Kirby. This (Well... I've been playing a lot of Sudoku on that game lately too) also reminds me, Dr. Kawashima was on Sakurai's poll, yeah? Yet he's not in Brawl at all. Not even a sticker! He's clear Assist Trophy material... and I think, maybe he's one of the characters they had legal trouble with? Since he's an actual PERSON, isn't he?

ANYWAY... According to Wikipedia:

Mario - 432
Pokemon - 215
Wii Series - 190
Zelda - 65
Donkey Kong - 49
Brain Age - 31
Kirby - 30
Nintendogs - 21
Smash - 21
Metroid - 14

(in millions)

Basically, Mario is god-tier in terms of sales.

Mii is the ONLY character that I consider a shoe-in.
I really see no reason why they wouldn't put him/her/it/them? in the game.

Well, Animal Crossing had 7 million.

Really, you should be shedding a tear for all those other series that didn't even make the list, lol.

I remember Star saying a while back that Uprising would be this generation's Star Fox 64. When you think about it, that's actually a pretty clever comparision

Sakurai said that he had misgivings about putting Mii in Brawl, however, I think a big reason was that he did not give them much thought. Miis did not become a huge phenomenon until 2007 long after Sakurai had finalized Brawl's roster.

The argument of "they can't fight" or "they don't have a fighting nature" does not apply to them if you even look at their first game appearance (boxing in Wii Sports). However, there is the argument that they are not real characters and that there is not much distinctive about them.

However, considering that they were even made as regulars in the Mario Kart series (as well as other Mario spinoffs) and even were playable characters in a 2D Mario tech demo, I think it would be awkward for them not to be included even if they have a "casual aura" like Sakurai thinks they do.

I'm bit scared that Miis will be a bit of waste because we'll be given a same moveset for everyone OR if we can customise, we can customise VERY LIMITEDLY.

Then everyone whines about how Miis are a waste of a slot for a more deserving character like *insert someone* and just made Smash Bros even more "casual".

Yeah, I think Mario Kart 7 was my main reason to think the Mii is a shoe-in.
I don't know... It felt so natural...
Also, I loved the Animal Crossing voice they had in the game! ;D

PS: It would be interesting if, depending on the height and weight you put on Mii Channel, the Mii character played differently...

The only problem with the Mii is that makings moveset for him would be tough since Boxing and Fencing are the only fighting he does. Plus, playing as yourself would be wierd. But yea, he should get in.

Edit: oh, and please, don't give them their MK7 voices. Those were SO annoying.

Oas: I don't want to be Mii if we can't customise moves.
