New Smash Bros for WiiU

I am curious what would happen if Smash Bros. Universe did end up being the real deal. All of the major Western video game outlets know about the Smash Bros. Universe leaks and the list of newcomers on it. No doubt Sakurai and Nintendo would be agitated that he would have no surprises left in regards to Smash Bros. YEARS before the game releases.

There will also be the matter of how there will basically be no Phase 2 in regards to speculation. Support topics would be rendered pointless (outside of those for those rooting for Brawl's veterans to return).

Why is Universe gonna happen now?

The newcomer list did not come out until Uprising literally was three weeks from going gold. Its entirely possible. After the prophet ordeal pre-Brawl, I have learned not to rule these things out entirely.

1)Universe came out before Uprising was close to being done. It was released in late summer/fall. The character list was tacked on later
2)The prophets didn't appear until VERY late into development. The first real one came out in October of 2007. The game came out in Japan in February of 2008. Also, none of the leaks said everything. They gave the roster in pieces.

What will be problematic about determining the Universe leak's legitimacy is that all of the newcomers who would realistically be starters from that list (K. Rool, Palutena, Little Mac, etc.) are all obvious enough inclusions that their revelation wouldn't necessarily confirm or deny the leak. If the move concepts leaked for the newcomers matched up with whatever information the inevitable SSBU DOJO revealed, confirmation might be more reasonable, but then again, Sakurai can easily hide the small portions of known moves if he needed to. He can still show off K. Rool without revealing Klaptrap summons, for example, or Ghirahim without revealing who he summons for a Final Smash.

EDIT: Also, what was said regarding Ridley's moveset? The leak I saw only mentioned ideas for K. Rool, Krystal, Saki and Ghirahim.

So? In Pokemon, Pikachu's Volt Tackle doesn't turn him into a ball of lightning, Rest doesn't kill people, Lucario doesn't get stronger as he takes damage, etc.

Wait until the game is actually in great development before believing roster leaks. Brawl's roster wasn't leaked until mere MONTHS before it came out. We're talking a roster leak 4-5 years ahead of time, from before the game even started development.

This isn't the first time someone went to great lengths to troll people, and it won't be the last. Keep on your toes, people. Especially you, Chrono.

I have a feeling it was just someone who knew little about Brawl, or for that matter, it was just an old sheet they made that was a Brawl character list.(except they used Universe as the title instead)

Also, if they knew enough about Smash, then they'd know that a character get a new moveset doesn't make them a newcomer in Sakurai's eyes. Link got heavily revamped between 64 and Melee. He's still treated as a veteran.

Also, the second point doesn't even make sense at all. The best I could think of is if was Modern Sonic that got in instead of the Classic Sonic. Which means an entirely new design. Similar to the Young Link and Toon Link scenario. Which was two different characters in the long run.

Based on what reasoning? When the leaks came out, it was shortly after Sakurai had already said he had no idea who was going to be in the game as of yet, and I doubt that would completely change within a month or two, let alone, while the game had yet to start development.

Furthermore, Sakurai has outright said it was a fake. Sakurai is not Ono, he doesn't blatantly lie to trick people. (Like what happened with Yatterman-2 in the overseas release of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom)

I want to play as Toad and Tingle in Smash 4. I want a brand-new Mario character who isn't going to be a clone of an existing Mario character (eg. Dr. Mario, Bowser Jr.). I also want a brand-new Zelda character who isn't going to be a clone of an existing Zelda character (eg. Toon Zelda, Toon Sheik). Seriously, if Toon Sheik is in the game... that will really make me feel furious, outraged, and sick with anger!!!!!!!

There are characters in the Universe thing that will probably be playable, but one look at that "concept art" should tell you right away that its totally fake.

Anyways, more Kid Icarus spoilers have come up.

Hades is the final boss apparently, Magnus is playable in one chapter where you have to fight Pit and later becomes a boss himself, and Palutena is a boss battle. I still don't think Magnus' role will put him ahead of Palutena, but maybe its enough to put him over Medusa? I guess I'll need to play/see for myself to say anything. Interestingly enough, Thanatos shows up later on, but there's no word of Medusa ever showing up after her bait and switch final boss battle.
