Tingle would indeed rock as a playable. He started as a stage element, then became an AT... he could indeed finally get added.

Also, Lip ftw.

Impa needs to be in yes, but after that I would mostly want revamps for the Zelda characters we have in now. Tingle would be fine I afterwards I guess, but I would prefer Ghirahim, Vaati or Skull Kid.

What do you guys here think about Lip? The board in general, is what I'm asking.
Panel de Pon/Tetris Attack is a masterpiece (even Sakurai thinks so). However, I can't say I am a supporter of Lip. I would not mind her showing up though.

Lip seems to get the most support on GameFAQs (along with Sheeda).

Great. I'm in a heated argument over her and there's like 4 people against me at the moment >_<

I think Skull Kid and to a lesser extent Vaati also deserves to be in a future Smash, but I don't think they're important or popular enough to be in Smash 4. Tingle already has his own games and Impa is the most important Zelda character in the main story after the main three, plus she got a major role in SS.

Ghirahim would be cool, but he's mostly a one-hit character, like Midna or Zant.

What's the argument about pertaining to Lip? They are pretty irrational about the female Fire Emblem characters over there too (when I presented proof about Roy's Japanese popularity they pretty much stuck their fingers in their ears and said that it meant nothing). They pretty much are fanboys through and through.

Just her chances. There is nothing about her that I find deserving of being playable in Smash Bros.

Even if one were to think Lip is "deserving", her chances of getting in Smash 4 are poor. I think she has a good shot at being an Assist Trophy this time though. Sakurai though would probably seriously consider her if he did not look toward the Palutena and Medusa as female newcomers (that goes for the Wario female characters too).

"Deserving" gets you in a lot of trouble.
Well, she was replaced in the US/European version of her own game because she's unmarketable. What makes her any different for Sm4sh? But, I don't really want to get in the same argument on 2 different boards. I'd rather you guys help me in my argument on G-Faqs, lol.

Speeeeeeaking of female Wario characters, I know the main thoughts are (in descending order of their mentions in discussions that I've seen) Captain Syrup, Mona, Kat & Ana, Ashley.

Myself, I like Mona. I would expect Captain Syrup, which is also fine.

Basically all possible new Wario characters are female any way.

Everyone seems to be jumping on the Ashley bandwagon at G-faqs...

I don't want a new Wario rep, but if there is one, I'd like to see either Captain Syrup or Kat & Ana first.

If we get a second Wario character it would probably be Mona or Jimmy T., leaning toward Mona though. Ashley never had the prominence Mona had in the WarioWare series, and most of her popularity probably comes from the fact she is a goth loli. Captain Syrup probably would be overlooked due to the fact that Wario Land got barely any attention in Brawl, and due to how much more notable the WarioWare series has become.

I would lean more towards Jimmy T.
Simply on the fact it would be much easier and arguably (personal belief, mind you) cooler for a dance-based fighter.
That, and Jimmy T. has a doppleganger, which no other WarioWare character has.

EDIT: An alternate color for Jimmy T.:

I say Ashley is popular because of her looks. (she's a girl)

People claim to like her because she's a witch, but then I point out Kamek, and his track record is MUCH more impressive.

As for the Kirby series, I am unsure what character could be added. Maybe Waddle Dee, but Idk, he seems a bit unoriginal.

Waddle Dee (Bandanna) seems very likely to being the representative for a new Kirby rep. Waddle Dee is pretty much the next guy in command after the main 3 in terms of being playable in the series, and he has potential to bring in an interesting moveset with his spear.

There are others, but they are less notable as Waddle Dee is. I think a few more future appearances for Bandanna Dee can really step him up to being an expected character for SSB4.

Why not through in Zero 2? Hes got alot of potential for a moveset. And a bad *** theme.

I don't want to admit I've been influenced by Star when it comes to Ghirahim, Saki, Slime, Mach Rider, Jimmy T... Oh goodness. U3U

That's Jimmy P obviously. If he were simply a recolor the two of them would not have been able to coexist in a cutscenes in smooth moves. :troll:

VVV ...I retract my earlier statement.

Star didn't influence me on Jimmy T.
I've already felt that he would be best as a WarioWare newcomer. But I'd rather have Shake King.

@disfunk: I'm well aware of that. I said it would be an alternate color for Smash.
If you read what I had said, I said that Jimmy T. has a doppleganger.

Ok, thanks for the input.

And now, which retro character deserves more to be playable: Little Mac or Mach Rider?

Between Mac and Mach? Mac.

Which retro? Mach, as Mac is no longer "retro" due to Punch-Out!! Wii.

Zero 2 and many other Kirby characters may have those advantages; however, he does lack in the overall notability to the Kirby series. When seeing a representation of the Kirby series, Waddle Dee is arguably a much more recognizable character to most people who are in a way familiar with the series. Being a playable character in some Kirby games is bound to get him some attention as well. Also Waddle Dees are generally some of the more recognizable characters in the Kirby series, so I think it is the overall importance to the series that counts in this case. Waddle Dee was even notable enough to make himself playable alongside the main 3 twice so far.

Zero 2 seems rather difficult to envision to me as to being a playable character considering his physical stature as well. Of course, movesets are not a problem either considering that any character can receive a unique moveset. I'm not exactly a Bandanna Dee supporter myself; however, I do think he stands a better chance than most other potential Kirby candidates in terms of a spot in SSB4.

Ah yeah, that's true. Are there any other retro characters that would be interesting? All I can think of is Balloon Fighter, Bubbles, Dr. Wright or Sheriff.

^Well there is the Duck Hunt Dog of course.

Muddy Mole is also a potential candidate himself. I'm not sure if Lip counts; however in terms of being a Retro character.

Meh, the Duck Hunt Dog would be boring to play, he's just a normal dog after all, nothing special.

I don't know much about Muddy Mole and have no clue what his specials would be.

Lip is a Retro character if I'm not mistaken.

Welp, I only had to see this one post to know that NOTHING has changed in this thread. I'll check back when actual information about the game shows up.

Would Phoniex trends happen to be like my Full Circle Theory?
Have no idea.

It's not really influence as much as I notice that on several occasions things I have said got swept under a rug until all of a sudden the idea becomes fashionable, or until someone more eloquent comes along. It's just funny, but nothing too major. Phoenix Force at work.

I think some have made movesets for the DHD, some of which do in cooperate the elements from Duck Hunt, so he does stand some type of chance (though how interesting I am unsure about).

As for Muddy, I personally think he is a rather good Retro character. Though I guess Opossum might easily be the best person to look to for a good Muddy Mole moveset. As for Lip, I'd assume she would be retro (in spite of cameos like in Captain Rainbow) and she too stands a good chance of representing a unique game series.

I also see from your signature that you want Victini as a new Pokemon rep. I don't know much about the last few generations of Pokemon myself, so I thought maybe Zoroark would be a good replacement for Lucario. Mewtwo could be brought back, although I'd rather see new characters before him.

Could you let go of lucario? Can't imagine a new SSB without him now.
