Aonuma (the director and producer for the 3D Zeldas) said his goal is to get the next home console Zelda out within three years after Skyward Sword's release. Considering he was talking about how many unused ideas his team had for Skyward Sword and how badly they want to implement these ideas in the next Zelda, I definitely think its a possibility, though I can see Zelda Wii U being delayed into 2015.Wait Chrono, they're already planning on Zelda Wii U??
Yeah I think so. I saw something over at Gamefaqs about it but then again it's Gamefaqs so you really can't listen to everything they say.Wait, isn't there supposed to a new Zelda for 3DS, too?
Both Sakurai and Aonuma have gone on record to say that they work closely together in regards to Zelda content in Smash Bros. I have previously mentioned that Impa's only hope is Sakurai coming to Aonuma for Zelda designs for Smash 4, and Aonuma pointing Sakurai to Impa (since there is no unused Sheik design like there was for Twilight Princess).@ChronoBound: I think it would depend on how far along Zelda Wii U is. The roster will be complete BY THE END OF THE YEAR. So, I don't think Sakurai could WAIT on making the Zelda characters until the Zelda team can lend them some assets and what not. I wouldn't think it's as simple as a model switch. Character designs also give a feeling for the stats of a character, and possibly subtle changes to the moveset (like the Gale Boomerang).
Here you go.That's interesting, would you happen to have the source around you Chrono? About Sakurai and Aonuma?
You probably get that with most big-name stuff. Even the smaller series probably get SOME input from their designers. You know why Sonic doesn't have a Tails-inspired recolor, or a Knuckles-inspired recolor? Because they probably felt being blue is an integral part of Sonic's design that shouldn't be changed. He is the Blue Blur after all!Thank you very much.
So moving on, Zelda, somewhat like Pokemon and Fire Emblem, are closely supervised by their developers?
Really though, Luario would be old news, and I feel like Mewtwo would remain unlockable as well. The only remaining option is Zoroark as the new starting Pokemon. He's a better choice then Mewtwo since he's an actual NEW character. I know people would PREFER seeing Mewtwo, but after being cut in Brawl, being an unlockable in this game would just add to the surprise.Zoroark as a starter? LOL that would piss asage off for real![]()
just not trubbish, because **** trubbish.
Pretty much what I've been saying for a while now.I am seeing a lot of positive reaction to Palutena, specifically her personality. I think even if she does not show any ability toward combat she is going to end up having many fans. Sakurai definitely knows how to make characters charming.
Ness and Lucas could go either way, Falcon should definitely become starter if we get Goroh.Should Ness and Falcon become starters, so that Lucas and Goroh can be their unlockable brethren?
I can't help but feel like Ness and Falcon should be coupled together in this case.
This is going in the info thread, once I stop feeling lazy and update it with the Japanese fanbase stuff. Here you go.
GI: Have you been consulted at all for the usage of Link or Sheik or Ganondorf for Smash Bros. Brawl?
Aonuma: I’ve been working with Sakurai for a very long time with this new Smash Bros., because the Wii came out and when discussion for a new Smash Bros. took place nobody could think of anyone other than Sakurai working on it. He was kind of the default, and I was very happy to hear that he would be working on it. Actually, my designers did work on the designs for Sheik and Link and Ganondorf. So they submitted the initial designs, and so it would fit in the Smash Bros. Brawl environment, they’ve had to tweak some of the designs. But Sakurai has brought those altered designs to NCL. We’re working very closely with the team of Smash Bros. Brawl to make sure the characters look their best.

You can send him the one you sent me in Swapnote, I don't mind.I would doodle you a picture of Palutena to make you feel better if I weren't so tired.
I honestly would not care whether the characters are starters or not.ghirahim and zoroark as starters? seems weird to me, but i definitely wouldn't complain if two of my picks were confirmed before release.
pre-brawl, my hopes were for wind waker link, lucario, bowser jr. and midna (sonic was already confirmed, and ridley de-confirmed). all of them either were or would've been unlockable; i was in suspense the entire time!
I dont see how there is any way to really tell how many slots. How many slots do you think Smash 4 will have?
50 is pretty much what most people seem to think.
Also, Palutena and Medusa need to be pretty impressive for me to personally want them for Smash Bros. I normally am not too impressed with one-shot characters unless I play with them extensively.
Palutena and Medusa never really got much screen time in the previous two Kid Icarus games (with Medusa being absent from Of Myths and Monsters). Medusa in Uprising is essentially like Ganondorf was to Ganon, the same being, but with a radically changed design. How are Palutena and Medusa one shot characters when they've appeared in multiple games?
50 slots? I've been mostly hearing 48 slots, but I guess 49 characters with a random slot could also work (I certainly wouldn't be complaining).
My original guess was 50+/-2. I'm starting to think we'll have a bit over that though. How many slots do you think Smash 4 will have?
I agree. The Original 12 should all be starters at this point.Am I the only one that want's all of the Original 12 to be starter characters? I'd be annoyed if the character I unlock after beating Classic is Jigglypuff AGAIN. I'd rather it be where the returning characters are starter characters (save for G&W and R.O.B.) along with four starter newcomer characters. Let us unlock the rest of the newcomers this time instead of getting veterans save for Lucario, Wolf, and R.O.B., Sonic, and Snake. Speaking of which, can we just have it where the third party charcters are starter characters as well. It's one thing if they weren't mentioned on the back of the box, but why mention them and then make them locked?
