Lucario's shiny look needs to be a look for Lucario in all future smash bros games, PERIOD! :)

Other needed Smash Bros. alternate outfits:
Mario: Waluigi colors, along with an all black outfit. Maybe give him Dr. Mario's old looks, assuming he doesn't return.
Luigi: Give him a Wario and Mario color, and make his pink and white and green outfit darken his skin. Also, A MR. L OUTFIT IS A MUST!!!
Bowser:Dry Bowser, Dry Bowser, DRY BOWSER! A Metal Bowser and black and white Bowser look wouldn't be half bad either. ;)
Peach: Make her Daisy color look more like Daisy. Also, Rosalina colors (cream hair and a blue dress) and/or alternate outfit would be a nice touch.
Link: Fierce Deity Link look FOR THE WIN! Also, original Link colors like Toon Link in Brawl. I would like to see a OOT/TP alternate appearance, but it isn't necessarily needed.
Toon/Young Link: Fierce Deity Link look again, as well as a gold outfit just like Link in Brawl. A Melee Young Link look would be nice, but it isn't necessary.
Ganondorf: Classic Melee/Ocarina of Time look would be nice. A "Toon" version would be cool, too.
Zelda: Keep her Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess looks as alternate outfits at least (and if not, keep her Skyward Sword look as an alternate look).
Sheik: Give her Zelda colors (white and pink) for a look.
Samus: Give her an all blue suit (like the Zero Suit), and make her actual suit changes actually different suits. I would love to see Samus wear the actual Fusion Suit, a Varia Suit, her basic Metroid Prime suit, her actual Dark/Light Suits, a Gravity Suit, and the PED Suit from Metroid Prime 3.
Zero Suit Samus: I would love a Power Suit orange color. Maybe an alternate outfit where her hair is longer and/or shorter would be a nice touch.
Yoshi: Give me like 16 colors. Maybe a Boshi look/color or a Croco color, too. Seriously, Yoshi colors are easy to do! MAKE DOZENS OF THEM!
Kirby: Same as Yoshi.
Meta Knight: I want an all gold look (not just a mostly gold) as well as a bronze look.
King Dedede: I wanna see gold robes, bronze robes, and polka dot robes!
Fox: Give him his Adventures, Assault and Command look as alternate outfits. Also, give him a James McCloud look, as well as an all black look.
Falco: Adventures, Assault, and Command looks. Also, give him a blue jay blue outfit and an all gold look.
Wolf: I wanna see a silver Wolf. Also, how's about we make his Star Fox 64 look an alternate costume for Wolf in Smash=??? :)
Pikachu: Give him all of his previous accessories in multiple colors, as well as some of Pichu's. Then add in loads of colors, or at least Pikachu's shiny color.
Jigglypuff: Same as Pikachu.
Lucario: His shiny color, as stated, is a much. Maybe some brighter colors, like a yellow color or a light blue would be cool, too.
The Pokémon Trainer: I think the trainer itself should be both male and female. As for the Pokémon themselves, I want an all-black and all-gold look.
Captain Falcon: He needs an American flag outfit.
Ness: He needs a "Onett" and "Eagleland" shirt, as well as some bright colored outfits.
Lucas: Give him a Masked Man look, as well as some funny shirts.
Snake: Give him a Naked Snake look with a jungle cameo (or all black cameo), green eyes, and an eye back. Also give Snake an "Old Snake" look, as well as a MGS1 look. ;)
Sonic: Knuckles red, Shadow black and red, and a Tails auburn-esk color. A Metal Sonic alternate outfit/color scheme would be awesome, along with a Super Sonic gold color look.

@ Arcadenik
Agreed on Banjo with Kazooie and/or Tooie and Conker and maybe on Joanna Dark. They all could have made excellent playable characters.

Oh, what could've been. Sometimes, I wish that Nintendo would just buy their properties.
Agreed. If we could just have Banjo in Smash, the world would be a better place... :urg:
I sure hope so! In a recent Rare blog post, they said their past titles will likely remain exclusive to Microsoft, but if there's a ripple in the water we'll let you know. Of course, this isn't confirming anything , but it makes me believe it could be entertained in the future. I'd love to see those three titles , as well as Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Diddy Kong Racing
Yeah Nintendo owns the rights to Diddy Kong Racing, which is why they made a DS version of it. :) Golden Eye I'm not sure on. Perfect Dark is owned by Rare. :ohwell:
Would Animal Crossing TECHNICALLY count as an N64 franchise? Also Doshin the Giant. BD
In Japan, yes. Outside of Japan, no. On a side note, I would be intrigued as to what a Doshin the Giant assist trophy character would look like. :ness:

You know, even though he has a bit of a long shot, I kind of hope for Kamek to be a 2nd Yoshi character. He has been getting a lot of attention as of late, and personally, I feel each of the original 10 series represented in Smash needs at least two characters.

Super Mario Bros. had both Mario and Luigi in 64.
Donkey Kong got Diddy Kong in Brawl.
Legend of Zelda got not only Zelda/Sheik, but Ganondorf and Young Link in Melee.
Metroid technically got Zero Suit Samus in Brawl, though room is still open for Ridley, either regular or Meta.
Kirby got both Meta Knight and King Dedede in Brawl.
StarFox got Falco in Melee.
Pokemon had both Pikachu and Jigglypuff in 64.
And Mother got Lucas in Brawl.

All that's left is Yoshi and F-Zero. Kamek and Samurai Goroh or Black Shadow would help.

Good point, even though she's MIA. I always wondered how Conker would react to seeing Krystal though
Which reminds me. What do you think of there being a little dialogue box underneath the winning character at the victory screen that has the winner saying something to the second placer? Snake, Pit, and Palutena would have some hilarious ones.

LOL at Golden using the "each of the original 10 franchises deserves a second character representatives" argument after all these anti-"representation" arguments! :troll:

But for realZ, Kamek would be an excellent playable character. Samurai Goroh would be fun to play as, too.

Um... Both games star Banjo and Kazooie. There is no character named Tooie. It's just a clever pun, since it's the second game in the series.

I never said they deserve it. I just said that I feel it would be best if they did.

It sounds like a good idea. I would love some conversation between characters after fights, although character bubbles should only be for characters that only speak via text as in like Zelda. Link, for example, would only communicate by yelling like an idiot!

@ Poppy
And here I thought it was a different bird for over a decade!

@ Golden
Okay, well I guess I sort of agree with you. The Yoshi franchise doesn't "feel" like it could use an extra character, but boy oh boy the F-Zero franchise does! WE NEED SPEED! :falcon:

Happens to the best of us. When I first saw the game, I thought Dragon Kazooie was Tooie. Then I watched a Let's Play of Tooie. Gave me the impression that Kazooie was cowardly. Then I played it, and boy, was I wrong!

You know, going around youtube, looking for music for that Yoshi's Island stage made me realize something...quite a few of the Smash series characters have had Pinball related games or mini games. Mario, Pokemon, Metroid, and Kirby specifically. It'd be pretty neat then to have a elaborate (and totally banned) Pinball based stage.
I vote to base it off of this.

Thinking about it some more, I think every character would have some different way of having a dialogue.

Silent characters like Mario, Link, and Kirby would need to have the loser talk to them. I think the Pokemon should work like Kuma in SFxTK where his dialogue is rendered in paranthensis as he himself doesn't speak human. It'd be rather interesting to hear what the Pokemon have to say, but I don't know if that's too out of character or is just exploring possibilities.

Aside from that, I'd like to see it where the character speaks in a fashion that is exactly like in their games, fonts and all.

See guys, someone is stealing my Pinball idea for somebody's stage idea that I stole a bit from again. :troll:

I remember my grandfather had that game on his NES. He told me he got it for like 2 bucks.

That game was probably barely worth it though!

Would be pretty cool. Wario would probably be funny. Or some drunken words from Conker

Pretty much only the Pokémon that don't have psychic powers (think Mewtwo and Lucario) can't talk, along with all forms of Link. Mario, Luigi, etc. can talk. Kirby can say a few things or act cute. I think it would be funnier if the Pokémon, Toon Link, and Link just had funny reactions to make up for their lack of words. You know, like The Artist.

Tooty is the name of the axe murderer behind Diddy Kong! Or as he affectionately calls it, Impa! :troll:

Also, anyone else think that a Black Shadow colored look or an American flag colored look for Captain Falcon would be awesome=??? :falcon64: :falconmelee: :falconbrawl:

I'd rather see Black Shadow as a playable character, thank you very much.

Voiced by Norio Wakamoto, to be exact.
It's not like he has little to work with like Goroh; he has supernatural powers in the anime, and has his BONDAGE energy chains from GX.

Black Shadow has to be playable so Little Mac can say "Are you a friend of Bald Bull?"

OH MAN. If Doc Louis appears on-stage like the Pokemon Trainer, when Mac loses a STAMINA MATCH, then Doc should throw in the towel from over his neck. BD

Actually, I dunno why I thought that had to be a Stamina Match only thing. Just if Mac loses all stock and there are more than two players.

Nah, Goroh has a katana, and most of us prefer katanas! :troll:

Apparently said game sold a reasonable amount of copies in Japan. GO FIGURE!

If there's ever another good 3D Donkey Kong platformer game (with a lot less collectables being required to beat the thing for no apparent reason than Rare wants you to collect all the crap they've hidden inside every little nook and cranny they could make), something tells me that Japan might just get Donkey Kong fever and be all over the series.

I just want a new DK in general, with most of the old DK64 cast back. Is that so much to ask? :urg:

Yeah DK64 music would be great in smash. DK 64 and DKC3 were strangely ignored in smash (aside from the DK Rap), although to be fair, all of the Donkey Kong stages thus far have been jungle stages, aside from the classic Donkey Kong 75M stage. Quite frankly, no song from DKC3 that I can think of fits on a jungle stage, and only a few songs from DK 64 would work on any jungle stage (the island theme, inside DK Isle, the 1st level, both versions of the 5th level, etc).

Personally, I think an island/beach, mine cart, and/or sea/ocean (on boats, perhaps?) stage is the best option for the next 2 or more stages in these forthcoming smash games. DK 64 has a lot of great environmental songs that could work on any environment, and DKC3 has a lot of great sea, boat, ocean, and beach level songs that would work great in smash. That is not just limited to DKC3, but DK Land 3 and the Gameboy Advance version of DKC3 (with slightly altered and sometimes completely different music).

Also, Metroid is a great game. If you get the chance, play it's remake, Metroid: Zero Mission. It is much easier, but really an intense game and retelling of the story, as well as added content. Really, any Metroid game is a good game. But be warned: Metroid, Metroid II, and Metroid Fusion are HARD!!!

@ Pieman
Don't forge the old Nintendo game "Pinball," which unless I'm mistaken, had Mario characters on it.
Yeah, both DK and Metroid need some new type of stages in Smash

It was merely a joke! Those soldiers crossing that river on Christmas morning is pretty bad a**. George Washington is a great Santa! His present: DEATH TO HIS ENEMIES! :chuckle:

Actually I am the ruler of America, not Obama; every voting American, or anyone in a democracy, republic, or democratic republic nation is their nations' leader! :awesome:

Yeah so I can't dance 'cuz I got blisters on my feet from running without my running shoes. Go ahead and pick on me. When I can run again, I'll America you! :chuckle:

Also, is anyone else tired of waiting for the Airship (or any stage) from Super Mario Bros. 3=??? The best Mario game deserves the best Mario stage. Peach's Castle 64, Rainbow Cruise, and Delfino Plaza are pretty tough acts to top. Each of those stages are amazing and legally "SUPER AWESOME" stages!
I'd like the Airship and a 3D Land stage along with that

I loved Kirby Air Ride in general

You know, even though he has a bit of a long shot, I kind of hope for Kamek to be a 2nd Yoshi character. He has been getting a lot of attention as of late, and personally, I feel each of the original 10 series represented in Smash needs at least two characters.

StarFox got Falco in Melee.
Pokemon had both Pikachu and Jigglypuff in 64.
And Mother got Lucas in Brawl.

All that's left is Yoshi and F-Zero. Kamek and Samurai Goroh or Black Shadow would help.
Lol, Batman on steroids

He'd be nice to have, though, but me? I'd rather have Deathborn

DAT CAPE

If you call Link Zelda in Link's Awakening you get a really cool song.
Thank you so much Star!

Which reminds me. What do you think of there being a little dialogue box underneath the winning character at the victory screen that has the winner saying something to the second placer? Snake, Pit, and Palutena would have some hilarious ones.
Lol, yeah, let's go for it

Lately, I have been feeling that we will get a trailer for Smash 4 at E3 2012. Its exciting to think that we are less than three months away from seeing the first newcomers of Smash 4.

In the short term, I am very excited that we will finally be knowing a lot more about Palutena and Medusa. I am pleased that we are now starting to get the Uprising OVAs (though we have to go through Pit's story before we get to the real interesting ones). By the end of this month we will know everything about Palutena and Medusa in Uprising. Hopefully, the OVAs centered around Palutena and Medusa will also release before the end of the month (but even still, the release of Uprising is probably enough to make a proper assessment regarding the goddesses).

The release of Uprising will give us not only stuff to speculate on in regards to characters, but also stages, items, Assist Trophies, and music. Sakurai himself may also open up to a tidbit pertaining to Smash 4 in the Iwata Asks that will be posted once Uprising is released. By this time we will be only a mere two months away from a possible Smash 4 unveil.

The second phase of Smash Bros. speculation will begin.

For those who ask, I consider there to be two phases in regards to Smash Bros. speculation. The first phase is when the the game is not unveiled and lasts from the release of the previous Smash Bros. installment to the unveil of the sequel, the second phase is when the game is unveiled and some newcomers are confirmed.

Melee:
Phase 1 Speculation Duration: 2 years
Phase 2 Speculation Duration: 6 months

Brawl:
Phase 1 Speculation Duration: 4.5 years
Phase 2 Speculation Duration: 1.5 years

Smash 4:
Phase 1 Speculation Duration: At least 4.5 years
Phase 2 Speculation Duration (assuming a E3 2012 reveal and Q4 2014 release): 2.5 years.

Interesting theory there Chrono.

I think we both can agree phase 2 will be better than phase 1 since we will slowly be getting more and more for information.

Arguments will become better with people being able to use solid evidence or facts from Sakurai this time around.

And plus the Wii U will be reintroduced at E3 so we can then speculate more on how Smash 4 might use some its capabilities and if there'll be any first party Wii U games that Sakurai might use content from in Smash (like Mario Kart Wii U, F-Zero Wii U, Star Fox Wii U, etc)

I gotta get to my local GameStop today/tomorrow.

I'll be getting the 3DS version for sure. Wii U version depends if there's more than just Smash to get.(and if Smash has something worthwhile, like notable exclusives. A big story... won't do it for me, heh.)

I don't even play Pikmin, soooo... and no 3D Mario game has tided me over since Super Mario 64. Luigi's Mansion worked, but it's not a regular Mario game, heh.

It was posted on GAF, the Smash Bros. release date is definitely BS, just trying to get pre-orders. However, the DK3DS game is also on some other sites, so I'm pretty sure it's true :)

The Super Mario Wiki has yet to confirm this though. After all, you don't want to be adding speculation there.

I would also say that there is also a possible Phase 3 in regards to Smash Bros. speculation. Phase 3 is when there is a stream of both new characters confirmations and character de-confirmations via the Dojo. I would say the Samurai Goroh Assist Trophy update at the Dojo marked the beginning of Phase 3 for Brawl.

As for the Donkey Kong 3DS, I do think we will eventually get a Donkey Kong game for the 3DS, however, I don't think it will be so soon. A Donkey Kong Country 3D for the 3DS this holiday season would be a very good decision though. I really hope that K. Rool and Dixie Kong are brought back this time.
