john: i'm not really seeing Orca in him too much. same beard, maybe, but that's it for me. (though i wouldn't be surprised if Orca had barnacles growig on him somewhere...)

chrono: you might just be burnt out. personally, i think i'll still be following smash for many years to come. i like to picture myself showing my grandkids how it's done. :D

metal: i can't get into the actual metroid games, but the characters and, increasingly, the music really do it for me. (i'd watch the hell out of a metroid movie.)

oasis: not everyone can be as Strong as you, you know..

I have probably asked this question before, but is there anyone else that is going to stop with the Smash Bros. series at Smash 4. I am most likely not going to follow or buy Smash 5. Smash 4 will pretty much be the last time I do speculation for a Smash Bros. game. I have been a very big fan of the series since the very beginning (late 1998/early 1999), so I think its time to call it quits. However, in general, I don't have the same level of interest in video games that I used to have. The Wii U (or whatever Nintendo's next console will be called), will most likely be the last game console I buy. After that, I will simply replay all of the games I already bought over the years (I am already doing that now). Unlike Brawl and Melee, I was already speculating on Smash 4 a few months after Brawl's release so that may be contributing to my fatigue going into Smash 4.
Well technically Smash 5 will be either the Wii U or 3DS smash. Personally, I get more interested in gaming as the years go on because the industry gets bigger, there are more great games from series I love, and new series for me to love (like Borderlands, the Elder Scrolls and Team Fortress). I kind of fall into the Metal Overlord category. I won't stop playing smash unless Sakurai stops making the series and future smash bros games aren't any fun (in which case I'll stick to the past/present games at that point).
john: i'm not really seeing Orca in him too much. same beard, maybe, but that's it for me. (though i wouldn't be surprised if Orca had barnacles growig on him somewhere...)
It's the beard. Plus I always felt Orca's face looked like a whale or some squash!
@Johnknight- I see that Corruption music and raise you Quadraxis' theme

Echoes was such an underrated game
Echoes is way underrated. However, nothing beats that Metroid Prime 3 title screen theme. It's just so epic. That song gives me goosebumps every time!

Alright some new information on FE13, apparently Masked Marth claims himself to be Marth, the legendary hero. This now confirms that FE13 is set on Akaneia, and that the neighboring continent in the artwork is likely Valencia. I am still saying this guy is not going to end up being Marth, however, considering this character is calling himself Marth this helps those who really believe him to be Mr. Fire Emblem himself.

The quotations in the scan this information comes from says,
"A mysterious sword-user saves Krom during his battle against the undead! They call themselves Marth, but who are they?!"

Once again, Palutena and Medusa are the next most important characters in Kid Icarus after Pit. Interest in these two characters will grow substantially once Uprising is released. I think they are going to be by far the most wanted female newcomers for Smash Bros.
Funny that Palutena has more emotion icons than Pit on that booklet. Maybe those icons could be utilized whenever Pit executes his special taunt.

Nope, just got a tad Angry. See, I Sometimes don't really like How some people just love to go "Oh hey your idea sucks but I'm not gonna tell you why". So it's finally been confirmed. And here they said that FE13 was going to be it's own original game with a new continent.

Anyone want to bet that Masked Marth is really Xane? :troll:

Anyway it'll be interesting to see how they also relate the game to Gaiden, this is shaping up to be the best game in the series.

Also I'm betting on seeing Gotoh, Tiki, Xane, maybe Nagi, and at least someone from Gaiden in the DLC chapters.

It'd also be really cool if some of the main characters were the decendants of the characters from Marth's time.

No Metal Overlord, those are the FACES OF EVIL Paletuna is wearing!!! :rotfl:

On a random note, I just had an awesome thought. What if Fire Emblem 6: The Sword of the Seal (Roy's game) and Fire Emblem 7: The Blazing Sword (the first game in the series released outside of Japan, and is the prequel to Fire Emblem 6) was released on the 3DS' Virtual Channel=??? That would be so awesome, especially if Fire Emblem 6 was released with an English version. The Sacred Stones (Fire Emblem 8) already has been released on the Virtual Console. :bee:

vv I could have sworn that you were around when I had that avi. Oh well, I'll change my avi in a little while.

DK's down B (ground pound) is rarely useful. If you miss, you will get whacked hard. The only time it works is when someone is straight up charging at you on the ground. I think it either needs less after lag, it needs to be chargeable for more damage/knock back/stun/range, and/or it should be like a shock wave attack and cover more ground.

DK's forward B (headbutt) should come out a little quicker. If it came out quicker, it would give DK 3 viable spike moves in the air. Also, I don't think it should get foes "stuck" in the ground, but rather stun them so you can land a quick followup attack. Maybe at super high damage % it should do a lot of stun, thus setting up easy kills for DK.
DK's Hand Slap should really stay, it shouldn't ever be replaced. That's a start. And in Brawl I personally think it's quite useful for punishing, and for zoning a bit. I'm all for improvement on it, but I was already pleasantly surprised with it's use in Brawl. DK is by no means a bad character in Brawl. Only thing he has against him is King Dedede's grabs. Trust me I know, I'm close to half maining both Diddy and DK. ;)
3 stocked Yani's Pikachu on Smash Ville as well yesterday with him ^^ (sorry Yani)

Your right on Headbut though, but if they can make up a different move, by all means do it. Barrel Throw, a grabbing / punching combo attack akin to DKCR and Jungle Beat perhaps? Either make Headbut useful, or replace it please.

Oh no, I agree. Donkey Kong in Brawl fixed most of the issues DK had in previous smash bros games, although I wish his grab throws and grab combos were epic again.

Nah, I think a barrel throw or a punching combo would be better off if they were put in movesets for King K. Rool (maybe Dixie Kong for the lulz). I think my description of headbutt. It would be an epic aerial spike with a little after lag but some after lag (which leaves you vulnerable to counters) that stuns foes to setup combos... is all good.

However, I am biased because I like my own opinions... which is why, they are my opinions! :dk:

Agreed. Make Donkey Kong a little weaker than he was in Brawl, give Donkey Kong hybrid versions of his combos and stuff from Smash 64/Melee, and put in a somewhat modified version of himself from Brawl (fix his specials, and maybe add better upward recovery for Donkey Kong), and you got a powerful, awesome, exciting, and balanced character.

Also, does anyone get really tired of each smash bros game completely changing Fox's play style and moves=??? Seriously, it's friggen annoying. :glare:

No no, not weaker. His strenght was good in Brawl! Love that aspect of him, semi fast AND Strong! :awesome: Although I DO want his 64's Forward Tilt back, but with far less lag than it had there. And the same speed as his current forward Tilt has, but with more power, just because! :smirk: N Air needs a little bit more power to, AND the sexy sweet spot on his Melee Up B needs to be back. U Throw + Up B was **** in Melee. U Air must be his Melee version to. And make his shield bigger while they're at it.

And yes, Fox changed most in each Smash game. But Samus did to, in a bad way with Brawl. :( I like Fox best in Brawl, although I'm still not a big fan of him in all the games. But with Brawl, they got the idea right at least. Finally. :smirk:

Wow, for a second there I thought it was for the Wii U. lol

I'm rather surprised though at how big they're making Medusa, even in the final boss fight clip she's larger than Kraid.
It's official - if Medusa gets in, there's no damn chance Ridley won't.

and as for the Mario/FLUDD idea, I was thinking of ways Mario could be buffed in the next game.

-Mario's Fireballs travel greater distance
-his Dair from Melee returns
-Fair is now atrue spike
-Mario's Super Jump Punch/Walljump cancel returns, and resets his second Jump(kinda like Ganon's Wizard foot used to)
-FLUDD instantly kills Red Pikmin, and damages non-blue ones for 1%
-when done in the air, FLUDD turns into Hover Nozzle and allows Mario to floa for a short time. charging it makes him float longer. anyone underneath him gets pushed down by the presssure, aloowing it to psuedo-spike.
along with this Mario ideas, I have 2 more moveset ideas.

BOWSER
-the mods for brawl did come up with an idea for bowser i really liked-super armor. while SA on him at all times is Overkill, I feel SA on certain moves would buff him a lot. Namely, his Fsmash, Whilring Fortress, and Bowser Bomb.
-his Flame breath should be changed to be similar to M&L 3 flamebreath. the longer you charage it, the more distance it covers, but charging too long does damage to you and makes you breathe smoke that does little Damage.
-his Fsmash should be changed to his Windup Punch from M&L 3.

META KNIGHT
-jumps should be cut from 5 to 4
-Shuttle loop no longer up B; Mach tornado is it now
-new Up B? pojectile in this vid:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wIdwq_8590 shows up around 0:16
Mach tornado and Drill Rush can be interrupted by Projectiles
-Dimensional ape should activate as a counter, so it only works when hit.

more ideas later....

I never thought that Ridley would end up looking small in some way. lol

No reason he shouldn't get in now.

I changed my avi back to Otaku Palutena (I don't like calling it nerd glasses anymore).

No I mean weaker in terms of make him more balanced. If that means making most of the mid-tier and lower character mid-high tier level like Donkey Kong, keeping him as is (in regard to everything). If that means making every character like a mid-tier character in Brawl, make Donkey Kong slightly less useful, andnerf Meta Knight like a bat out of hell! :rotfl:

Samus has fairly similar priority in Smash 64 and Melee, but in Brawl they just made her an awful character to play as. She's got no priority, she's too light, she doesn't have a great recovery, she doesn't have fast moves, and she doesn't kill well at all. Basically, she's awful at everything except projectiles! :chuckle:

Falco seems to have Fox's Smash 64 style, even as he slowly is becoming less and less of a clone. IWolf should absorb some of Fox's Brawl style while not being a clone in SSB4.

I also think Fox should play like he did did in Melee (in which he is my main). Just all around they need to take away all of his kill moves, and make Fox do way less damage. Make his forward smash and up smash his only kill moves aside from gimping. Keep the shine, but make it have more post-move lag. Make his Melee uTilt not able to kill anyone ever, and take away his fTilt's knock back and stun and make it more reasonable. That would equal a great character in smash that would also be very balanced in my opinion.

@ Triple Dash
You should see Bowser in Super Mario Sunshine. He's way bigger than Ridley ever was!

If Fox goes back to Melee style, take away like... all of his priority. And nerf his Up Smash and Up B like it's in PAL. And basically, yeah, just what you said. :p It's always weird to see how a character that's SUPPOSED to be light live to such high %s. Melee Fox lives longer than Melee Bowser for sure. Fall speed had a lot to do with this in Melee, so I was kinda happy to see this not be as much of an issue in Brawl as much.

Donkey Kong and Kirby imo are characters done right. All characters should basically be as good as them imo.

That's pretty much what I said. Take away all of his kill moves that aren't gimps like his shine or his forward or up smash, and he's good. Also, make him do a lot less damage with each attack (except his specials, grab-related moves, and maybe his smash attacks) to where he has minimal power. That way he is quick and has to rely on his quickness to win. That sounds balanced to me. All of his moves thus would have some priority (well, give his fAir some priority), which is something I think all characters should have.
And nerf his Up Smash and Up B like it's in PAL. And basically, yeah, just what you said. :p
Yeah, Fox's Up B and Up Smash in the PAL version is much more balanced.
It's always weird to see how a character that's SUPPOSED to be light live to such high %s. Melee Fox lives longer than Melee Bowser for sure. Fall speed had a lot to do with this in Melee, so I was kinda happy to see this not be as much of an issue in Brawl as much.
I think Fox should be a little lighter than he was in Melee (maybe about as much as he weighed in Brawl), but overall he should be able to live for a while if he recovers properly. However, this all goes back to the problem many characters have: the edge game. A lot of characters really suck at keeping foes off the stage and gimping them, which is why I think the tether jump should spike harder at high percentages. I think for instance, with Bowser a tether jump at 100% should spike Pikachu to death.
Donkey Kong and Kirby imo are characters done right. All characters should basically be as good as them imo.
It depends what type of game these forthcoming smash bros games are (also, Kirby lacks a lot of priority). If we're talking a game that has more offense than Brawl but not too much more, agreed. If we're talking a game with the offense/defense balance of Melee, I think Toon Link and ZSS are where everyone should be. If we're talking a game with the all out offense of Smash 64, then every character should be a little stronger than Snake!

I think the forthcoming smash bros games should have a forth taunt.

For Mario, he should grab a star like in Super Mario 64/Sunshine/Galaxy/etc.
For Diddy Kong, he should pull out his boom box and listen to some jams!
For Donkey Kong, he should pull out a 3DS and start playing Donkey Kong Country!
