Disregard that, I cook socks.

Anyway, I find Medusa to be more appealing to be a Palutena Alt, with specific stuff changed and all that. Y'know, voice, all that. Keeps her in the game without actually wasting a slot.

To avoid over repping, add atleast one new character for basically all the other series, maybe with exception for Mother (though, Ness / Lucas with own moves, and Ninten having the 'classic' moveset would rock) and Yoshi's Island. Ta da. No over representation. Besides, we kinda do need our 2 DKC and Metroid newcomers.

Speaking of, which series you would rank in order to have the most chance to have 2 newcomers? My order goes like:

1. Pokémon (Mewtwo counts, could perhaps have 3 characters even who knows)
2. Donkey Kong Country (needs it)
3. Super Mario (as long as Toad is one of them)
4. Kid Icarus
5. Metroid ( Ridley and I'm sure you'll reMANber the second character :awesome: )
6. Fire Emblem (Chrome is likely, and perhaps Roy will be back to)

I'd rather have at least 5 FE members (considering two would be DLC, however). But, y'know, I don't think people liked that idea.

@LC- Medusa as a Palutena alt costume or character? Please say the latter

Now that I think about it... neither TBH. Just give them both seperate slots

The only things holding that from being a reality is the lack of analog support in the stick and that there's no secondary stick for the C-Stick (though I think this can become irrelevant). However, people in this thread hate it when I bring up other fighting games so I'll just drop it.
The reason people don't like it is because it's a bad idea. No analog will not work with Smash. Ever tried to play Brawl with the Wiimote sideways.

So you're saying Smash should play like other fighting games then?:troll:

In all seriousness, I agree, but I don't think it's in Nintendo's best interest to directly copy their competitors. Rather, they need their own take on the concepts. It should be familiar enough so that people will be comfortable enough to try it out, but different enough so that it has its own appeal. Smash is kind of like that, but it's not quite there, IMO.
You realized you JUST described what Smash Brothers already does.

I just completely finished Donkey Kong Country 3 GBA. Unlike the other two GBA DKC ports, this one actually had some positives to it. First off, it has six new levels and a new boss fight. The second major point is that its soundtrack was done by David Wise, the composer for the first DKC titles. While its definitely not Wise's best work, there were quite a few nice tunes he did for this one. Overall, I would still say that the original SNES version of DKC3 is superior.

Here are some of the best tracks from GBA DKC3:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtzMF8cMKVE&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zHonusQ-Rs&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcuXrF3nT9M&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L92aEstJjA0&feature=related

On a side note, did you know that DKC3 sold over 1.7 million in just Japan alone? The DKC trilogy was really, really big.
Not bad. I like the SNEs ones better, but these did come out well. Especially the waterfall.

I want King K. Rool and a Dixie/Kiddy team for Smash 4. Two reps just don't cut it when you know the DKC trilogy was a really, really big deal.
Yeah, but does ANYONE want Kiddy back?

I hate being European when it comes to being a Nintendo-fan...

DON'T DARE TO MENTION XENOBLADE.
Heck, mention it. We talk about it too little. Plus, we're getting it in the state anyway.

Also Palutena, DO SOMETHING ALREADY BESIDES BANTERING AND TALKING

Because almost seems like she doesn't really do much "fighting".
Zelda did either.

@Smashchu I play with the Wii Remote sideways... Then again, I play with my friends, and they're pretty bad. Despite me constantly dumping on the even semi-competitive scene, I do acknowledge that they could whoop me.

Pit had BETTER have a different FS this time

But yeah, they're both great choices, so they should really be playable this time, overrepresentation be damned
This.

Quick KI fact, Pit's FS is based on how he fought bosses in the original. Palutena had nothing to do with it. Makes ya wonder why Sakurai went to all the trouble to redesign her when she wasn't needed to begin with...

Anyway, I find Medusa to be more appealing to be a Palutena Alt, with specific stuff changed and all that. Y'know, voice, all that. Keeps her in the game without actually wasting a slot.

I think if Pit gets a new Final Smash, it will be the Three Sacred Treasures. Basically, it will be like Wario Man.

Chrono: I think it more as free flight-like powerup similar to Yoshi's FS, but can be switched to whole WarioMan-motive during on ground.

TriHy: Maybe it's because SSE?

Going on, dem centurions acted like Options from Gradius-series in KI, which is why I shout OPTION!! when I use Pit's Final Smash. XDD

Dang near every move changes from Smash game to Smash game. Damage %, knock back, stun, angle (of impact), frames, how long the moves last, etc.
Changing it up a bit with each game to allow characters to fit more into each of these two games (instead of randomly) helps balancing and build a unique smash bros experience.
I know things change from game to game. I don't see how this implies that working on two games at the same time will help balancing. Determining the direction they want for a character maybe, but I doubt you'll acquire balance in the process.

A bit random, but am I the only one who preferred the Melee credits to the Brawl credits? Like, I thought it was more fun when you were actually moving while shooting at the screen than just staying stationary while shooting, although I did like trying to shoot all the stickers in the Brawl credits

I'd like a mix between those two for the credits in Smash 4

I usually take up people disagreeing with my opinions when there's actual **** backing them up. A simple no isn't a disagreement, it's him being a ****.

Well, not everyone has to write a 5-page, well-developed essay explaining why they disagree with your opinion. And I don't think Tri-Hy meant to be a **** when he said that, he's one of the nicest people around here and isn't really an aggressive person when it comes to his and others' opinions

How cute. I talk about backing up a disagreement, and you bring up how it all has to be expanded and over-the-top, like it's supposed to be a courtroom.

I didn't say "please write a wall of text over why you disagree", I said "elaborate on why you disagree". A simple two or three lines, compressed if necessary, as to why it would be a bad idea. "No" doesn't cut as an answer -- hell, it shouldn't even cut as ANYTHING.

Sorry to continuously blast into this discussion that I'm clearly not involved in.

I almost lol'd when you said cute...:bee: Also, why he brought up 5 page essay is because lots of times on here smashers that get disagreed with expect a wall of text from the disagree-er. Come on, don't let yourself have a foxblaze. He disagreed, and he chose not to start a whole extra discussion. Like I said earlier, people are entitled to their opinion.

I like how you only focus on one part of my post, which was exaggerated wholly for comedic effect, and seem to completely disregard the other part ;)

I'm just saying that not everyone HAS to explain why they disagree with you. It's ideal, yes, but it's their prerogative if they don't feel like elaborating on how they feel about you and your opinions. Really, in cases like this, it would be better to just ask them why they feel that way or just ignore them. Don't really see why this is such a big deal to you

Why would I disagree with Tri-Hy being a nice guy or something? Just saying he was a **** at that point in time for saying "no". I'm just saying I like constructive ****, not just "herpderp"-type answers.

how 'bout them stages.

N's castle is a popular pick for a new Pokemon stage, and i suppose i could go with that, but I want to see them do Castelia City. the stage itself could be the observation deck on the Royal Unova cruise ship, as it sails around the big city. the time of day could be based on the system clock, so when night falls the whole city lights up.

they could just not do a stadium 3 and do both Castelia Cruise and N's Castle instead.

Spear Pillar will probably get its spiritual succcesor stage with Zekrom and the thing with the big white penis.

But I want my Saturn Village :c

First off guys, shut up. I am the leader of this discussion! :awesome:  :) You voted me leader of the discussion. I will now tax you for all the money you gotS! ;) :reverse: :smirk: Strong. :088:

Okay, let me give an example. Fox's up tilt in Smash Wii U works great. It juggles/combos foes at low % and isn't broken, it kills at high %'s, and it has great priority.

Now the developers try to put the same exact move in Smash 3DS. If it is more floaty, it doesn't juggle well because of crazy DI, and air resistances makes it a weak kill move. If Smash 3DS is less floaty, characters fall to the ground before Fox can even think about juggling with the move, and can tech and hit him, making the move useless at low %'s.

If Smash 3DS is more floaty, the move gets more stun or knock back (to kill easier). If Smash 3DS is less floaty, it gets more stun or less after lag. Does that make sense=???

diddy: i like reshiram's design, except for that big, ridiculous crotch-feather. they downplayed it in the dream world artwork, but it's still right there.

i'd go along with a saturn village stage, if for no other reason than the accompanying music.

how do you feel about my suggestion of levias as a zelda stage?

I think we can all agree Saturn Valley is a Great and Strong choice of a stage for Mother/EarthBound.
Once again, Palutena and Medusa are the next most important characters in Kid Icarus after Pit. Interest in these two characters will grow substantially once Uprising is released. I think they are going to be by far the most wanted female newcomers for Smash Bros.
After Dixie Kong of course.
:smirk: If a new Star Fox game revealed soon and Krystal isn't in it, Krystal fanbase will shrink slowly. If the oppose happens, Krystal's popularity will rival them.
@John: DK's Down B is actually quite useful at times in Brawl (especially at the start of a match when others spawn close to you)! I just hope they can make it a little faster, maybe increase range to. Orrrrr: make it a chargable move! THAT would be awesome! :awesome: The headbut needs to be gone, but the going into the ground stuff could still be cleverly used in his moveset I say. Like when DK hits you with his fists down with the Down Smash (last few frames of the move) it could trap you in the ground. Or the Down B when very closed ranged. That way, the Headbut would have it's spiritual successor.
DK's down B (ground pound) is rarely useful. If you miss, you will get whacked hard. The only time it works is when someone is straight up charging at you on the ground. I think it either needs less after lag, it needs to be chargeable for more damage/knock back/stun/range, and/or it should be like a shock wave attack and cover more ground.

DK's forward B (headbutt) should come out a little quicker. If it came out quicker, it would give DK 3 viable spike moves in the air. Also, I don't think it should get foes "stuck" in the ground, but rather stun them so you can land a quick followup attack. Maybe at super high damage % it should do a lot of stun, thus setting up easy kills for DK.
I want my ****ing gunsword in Smash, goddammit
Squall for the Brawl SmTrash! :troll:
Pit had BETTER have a different FS this time
This is why I suggest two Final Smashes. One that is a super attack (like Pit currently has) and one that is a super transformation. Seriously, who wouldn't want this=???
No over representation.
Characters represent themselves and themselves only. Sakurai puts in the characters that make us want to play the game the most, which can be for a variety of reasons!

Personally I'm surprised that wasn't his FS in the first place. I guess Sakurai was just feeling creative.

Who died and made you owner of my goddamn opinions?

I disagreed with what you said. It's not a big deal. I only said a simple "No" since I was in a hurry to get to class. I didn't mean to offend you or anything.

Yeah Saturn Valley = so much win.

Also Sage of Ice, you got a picture or video of that stage from Skyward Sword=??? I think we all are assuming that the playable stage in smash from that game is Skyloft, just like how most of us felt the Bridge of Eldin was going to be the playable stage from Twilight Princess. It's too bad the Bridge of Eldin was a giant campfest. It could've been great. :(

Edit: Also, some of y'all need to stop getting so emotional and overreacting to stuff. And others of you need to stop supporting old ladies fight. They belong at the AARP man! :troll:

I have probably asked this question before, but is there anyone else that is going to stop with the Smash Bros. series at Smash 4. I am most likely not going to follow or buy Smash 5. Smash 4 will pretty much be the last time I do speculation for a Smash Bros. game. I have been a very big fan of the series since the very beginning (late 1998/early 1999), so I think its time to call it quits. However, in general, I don't have the same level of interest in video games that I used to have. The Wii U (or whatever Nintendo's next console will be called), will most likely be the last game console I buy. After that, I will simply replay all of the games I already bought over the years (I am already doing that now). Unlike Brawl and Melee, I was already speculating on Smash 4 a few months after Brawl's release so that may be contributing to my fatigue going into Smash 4.
