Oh, I didn't notice Kira was brought up. To be blunt, I don't think he's very bright and I'm not sure how much he would add; he does know a lot about his character, but I don't see what else he has going for him.

From what little I've seen of Lucien on the boards and from talking to him in person, I'd be fine with his addition.

Alright, those all sound good Tero, except I haven't seen Kira post in a while, I don't know if he'd be active. Also, unknown reversed his vote on joeplicate, so any objections (from anyone) to me adding him also? And how about Lucien? He is currently the top player in Norcal, and he's made some great videos explaining smash concepts.

By the way everyone, I will be in Europe from Aug 26 - Sep 12, so other MBR leaders be aware. I'll be in Poland, Denmark, and Sweden. I may have time for extraneous smash if there exist smashers in Copenhagen, Stockholm, or Warsaw.
The few things I've seen about Lucien were good, so I'll trust you on this.

Post over here : http://www.smashboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=226

You'll find some players in Denmark without trouble : they're a pretty small community, and still lack top players, but their scene's activity seems to have risen during the last months.
In Stockholm, you'll find some smashers quite easily too : it isn't the side of Sweden where Armada, Aniolas and Calle W live, but it's still the most active part of the country.

As for Poland... you can pretty much give up :urg:

Since I allready gave my +1 to joeplicate, I'm obv fine with him, also with Lucien even tho I never saw him post on the boards his tutorial videos were cool and he's a top player.
So let's forget Kira and add Lucien.

as per sheridan's request, i'd like to have druggedfox added to the MBR so i'm moving my request here. since he got support from 6 members other than myself and no dissents, i asked him to apply for membership to the user group already.

I'll add him. Eggm also applied. I know he's a high-level player but I know nothing of his posts. Anyone have opinions?

he doesnt post much. maybe he is looking for such an opportunity. I have never really see him pursue and follow through on an argument or anything but he def puts time in most of the post he makes.

He has great input to offer in regards to spacies and yoshi. I wouldnt put him at the top of the priority list, but definitely someone to look at since he's been around for a while and has contributed so much.

I advise you to base your admittance on post quality and intellect rather than player finesse. it goes a long way in the conversations held concerning more technical aspects of debate.

Hmmmm, it's mostly just a recommendation as to get more TOs back here. Matt has run quite a few tourneys on the East Coast and his input could be useful. That said its not a huge "This guy NEEDS to be back here" kind of push, more a general recommendation.

I'd like to think that the MBR guys are active on boards and MDZ (like eggm) just don't appear to be active enough for my taste. Good guys in person but I do not know if they would be in their element back here.

MDZ has improperly run several mass madnesses, leaving his TO duties to people who aren't experienced in charge so he could play friendlies.

having said that, i <3 mdz but i don't think he'd provide much to the MBR.

MDZ invented (or began spamming after somebody seriously posted it) using the upB in the air as an offensive move, didn't he? Shouldn't that warrant his entry on its own?

My main issue is that he isn't much of a debater from what I see, but the fact that he TOs a major series for NE is a pretty big deal (whether or not he does it well, I think he's kind of burnt out at times).

Basically it turns into me and Dazwa run the majority of the tournament.

Dazwa runs brawl.

I seed with skler once and banks a lot, run and call out tournaments for Melee.

Matt posts results and calls it his tournament.

Tis a vicious cycle.

oh man i ran a pokemon tourney and they gave me a blue name. You got this skler. Also get ***** mdz i told him this would happen but he kept *****ing at me to recommend him. He even asked me to post that TO thing saying he ran a bunch of successful tourneys. My responce: "you mean like ohana?"

He's so fun to make fun of lol.

I helped seed once.

I should have a blue name!
He helped me seed a very big bracket :lick:

Anyways, if we have the grounds to recommend people for the MBR, I'd honestly like to recommend GAWes. He's a very intelligent poster (if not semi-inactive) and he's been running nationals since he was in high school.

I agree with his name being ****, and this is coming from a guy who just removed a vowel. I've never seen him post though. Are his posts as bad as his name?

His posts are good. He's a really bright guy who is very knowledgeable about the game and never seems reluctant to voice his thoughts, which is why I think he'd be a good fit here.

But yeah, his name his atrocious. If he does get in here, I hope he sees this conversation to remind him of that.

Reading one of his posts again: I always wondered why The King isn't in the Back Room.
He doesn't really post much but when he does it's mostly very good and well worded.

He was in the MBR but then he stopped posting more than once every 4 months so he ended up getting purged.

Also are there any actual objections to Nintendude? I'd feel kind of bad if he got **** blocked just cus his name is terrible lol.

I think crismas should be in the MBR.

She runs tournaments with me and helps keep the melee community alive in tri-state. She is also a very knowledgeable peach player.

MBR is generally reserved for very high caliber posters or less commonly national level TOs. Character knowledge, player status, local tournament host etc is a small bonus but it's not what we really care about. That stuff is more BBR oriented I'd think.

I'd like to extend another invitation to The King as we would to any other prior members.

I'd also like to start a blacklist of people that should NEVER be added to the MBR under any circumstances.
