Only a few people I can give assent to, really.. I give my yes to Axe, Sveet, Armada and Aniolas. I would say yes to Sethlon but I don't know how active he still is; if he's actually around, then he gets my vote for being a level-headed and intelligent dude.

I can give my assent to Sveet, Axe and Armada. Lovage as well, but I'm not sure if you care if they make random spam posts or not so long as they're fine otherwise. Lovage makes a lot of thorough/educated posts in the Fox boards. I don't really see him post much anywhere else, same goes for most of the people I didn't give assent to.

About one year ago, he told me he wanted Jiggs to be banned. Ever since, he told me more than once that she's a broken character, and the best in the game (especially in PAL), but he never mentioned banning her again.
So, I don't know if he's still for the ban, but even if he isn't, he still hates her about as much as Mew2King.

Also, let's talk about what kind of things we're looking for in new members at the moment. Do we need more "good players?" TOs? Or just people who are good posters and would be active? Do we need to worry about regional representation? I was thinking of going into the member list post and sorting by region if necessary.

As a TO myself, I wouldn't mind seeing more TOs in there. Their help could be useful on the statistics project you wanted to start, for instance. Also, I wanted to try creating a documentation project regarding tournament hosting (not sure if this really is the MBR's job), and TO's would be essential in order to do that.

As for regional representation... I think it's interesting to have people from different communities, as long as we don't add people just because their region is under-represented.

I'll also use this thread to apologize about my recent inactivity. Ever since I've been promoted to MBR Leader, I've been busy with university stuff and personal problems, making me unable to be really active.[/johns]

I don't know what the basis for nomination is, but if I have any say, I'd like to nominate $mashmac (as I see some Docs. I'm basing this on the assumption that there is some degree of representation by character.) He's actually done a lot for Docs and a good deal for the South, moreso than I have.

From the most part I've seen him post alot of outright incorrect information and back it wholeheartedly without taking the other side into consideration whatsoever(The Marth/Ganon topic that came up in the match up chart comes quickly to mind) and for the most part he seems to have trouble with legitimate debate, there's rarely a time when he actively accepts the fact that he may be wrong, rather he tends to just back down while still fully believing whatever it is he represents. It comes off(to me) as a lack of conviction toward what he believes and also an inability to accept that he could be wrong at the same time.

This is said as someone who has watched sveet for a few months now trying to decide whether or not to suggest him for the MBR so i want to see what you guys think.

the fun part is I got a lot of **** for adding you to the MBR at the time when I was picked to revive/head it and you turned out just fine lol.

now to everyone else, when do we stop the votes and just add people, and how many should we take? I can also just add sleepyk, swiftbass, and axe now to save some time. I don't see them not making it at this point.

Over all the posts i've read from him, he seems biased and, well, uneducated but not afraid to pretend like he knows what he's talking about.

Axe - YES
Active, clearly skilled, very reasonable and willing to listen to all points of view, overall good attitude and would fit well in the mbr.

Swiftbass - yes
Generally reasonable, skilled, and motivated to make competative melee better.

Solid Jake - maybe, prob no
Haven't heard much from him in regards to melee in ages. Decent guy, I just don't see him being very active back here.

sveet - maybe, leaning no.
He's active and at times reasonable, and has made decent contributions, but i don't feel he'd provide much for sensible debate.

Shiri - yes
Knowledgable, reasonable, and decent at debate.

Shroomed - yes

DJN - NO.
Occasionally has something worthwhile to say, but you have to drudge it out of it "well it works for me because i'm like the best lol, just be good like me" that accompanies pretty much every post of his.

Linguini - no
Skilled, but haven't seen many of his posts and haven't been overall impressed by the ones i have.

Sethlon - Yes, if he's still active
Good poster and decent debater, but i haven't seen much of him lately, is he still active?

Dark Sonic - yes
Decent debator, knowledgable, never had an issue with him and generally enjoy his posts.

Mexican - yes
Skilled, knowledgable, and liked all the posts i've seen by him.

SleepyK - yes
reasonable and have never had any issue with his posts.

Joeplicate - no

Lovage - yes
A little volatile at times, but i suspect would do fine in the mbr.
Armada - yes
Obviously skilled, and has made decent posts.

For those who may not know him, he's another French player. He's also pretty good, has a lot of experience and his english level is without a doubt good enough to take part in the debates.

From the results and the posts afterwards I'd say we should add Shiri, Aniolas and possibly Shroomed, Kira- and Sethlon.

I'm also fine with Hbox and JD so you might as well add them, too.

Never heard of DruggedFox, but if Umbreon, Reaper and KK say he's fine then he has to be fine and I'm totally cool with that.

Alright, those all sound good Tero, except I haven't seen Kira post in a while, I don't know if he'd be active. Also, unknown reversed his vote on joeplicate, so any objections (from anyone) to me adding him also? And how about Lucien? He is currently the top player in Norcal, and he's made some great videos explaining smash concepts.

By the way everyone, I will be in Europe from Aug 26 - Sep 12, so other MBR leaders be aware. I'll be in Poland, Denmark, and Sweden. I may have time for extraneous smash if there exist smashers in Copenhagen, Stockholm, or Warsaw.
