So much new stuff... Can't wait to go in depth when i get back home.

I only watched kenny's latest post....

use dtilt after SDI'ing the usmash downwards.... it should hit and be quick enough to do something else if you don't hit. ftilt is the second option. Jab is a PoS for anything other than a jab-lock; perfect reaction and DI to the jab can leave you open to lots of things.

Fairly good overall... I can't say much...

Nice matches both times, Kenny. You totally had him, you just got screwed at the worst possible time when the lava was low. Good going though man, MK isn't easy.

utilize the ftilt. you had some chances where ftilt may have killed him due to its relative quickness and brinstar's short blast zones to the side.

dtilt more, even though MK's is so much better... dtilt > jab, IMO

PSI magnet more... owait. nvm. PSImag doesn't work against Marth or MK.... and maybe DK and ganon.

A bit less PKfire. You do pressure well with it in the air, but sometimes I see a bit of a late execution which leads to a punish.

about the MK tornado... good going against it in both matches.

that missed PKT2 kill in the first match (?)... UGH! I was angry. just a little wider of a loop and it would've been the kill.

utilt isn't seen much here, but for a reason: few times that it could have been used.

where your dair at? I like to see it randomly thrown in for both the baiting and scaring.

not many grabs... I don't remember seeing any really. I understand though... it's metaknight. unless you can perfectly space/time it every time so that he can't escape, its a bit difficult to do so confidently... but that is where dtilt comes in... its a bit of a hard thing to explain. I need to actually play again in order to be able to describe exactly. I'm trying to first remember my playstyle fully before I start playing this game again. also, trying to work out flaws.

I say you played well... really well, actually. Just a bit of bad luck with the ending thing. what I would've done was FF then DJ right at the right time... if you do that right, you get out of the way enough to avoid dair, you move to the other side of the stage, where it is easier to get back up, and you get a bair or fair to retreat to the other side. the jump was a bit hasty in attempting to get back to the stage, which made you get hit by the nair and get gimped. The recovery also could've been better. maybe loop it around longer, judging that the MK wouldn't purposefully fall down and risk getting killed.

I keep cutting to critique... GJ overall. only a minor fluke that can be overlooked later. You had the game dominated basically the whole time.

thanks, very nice review too :]. I know my mistakes perfectly well, and I know i'm a bit...fire happy xD. that b-stick pk flash was totally an accident, i'm so lucky it was b-sticked or else I would've been dead o.O

Hey guys, been a while since I updated the last video thread and I have to apologize for that. Had forgotten summer = more videos as opposed to before in the school year where updating 1-2 times a month was workable since it only had a few videos. Not to mention some major real life drama, mother needing sudden emergency surgery, and of course the world cup distracted me from my responsibilities. Regardless, there was no excuse for my behavior so I apologize again for that.

I saw there was a new volunteer for the video thread and a new one was made which is understandable as it took this long to get my life back in order. I am glad to see many people still take a great interest in playing Ness and hope to find a way to contribute as I can't make any videos myself with a major lack of any other players in my Atlanta area within proximity.

Really love the new Ness image with the tv surrounding him though not the most thrilled with the format of the videos but I guess it isn't my choice anymore x_x

The very least, I updated the old video thread down to the last post in case anyone wanted to see those epic matches again^^

dtilt is less effective in flurries. use it in single or double bursts, followed by either a grab or nair/fair.... the reason for this is that, in my practice at least, the trip is much more common to have with just single or double hits, leading to that grab... and even if you DON'T get the trip, the usage of the dtilt will make your opponent think that you will use it more shield to stop more hits OR spotdodge OR run away. If you react properly, you get the grab anyways and win a few percents. Lets say that the opponent uses his shield to stop more hits... simply grab/dashgrab and you'll be on your way. it may be possible that your opponent, in shielding, is aiming at grabbing or using an aerial OoS or doing something else to get rid of your shield pressure options. If that is the opponent's aim and you feel unsafe, simply nair out, spotdodge, or beat the grab of your opponent with your grab. You can also roll out and readjust since it would take a little too long for your opponent to get going and attack when you are weak from rolling. -- Note, all of this is going on in a few frames. It takes lots of good prediction. -- When you nair out, you hit the shield and SHOULD be moving away and out of range of the opponent's grab while providing minor shield pressure. Depending on the situation, the grab wins. If they go shield and to a spotdodge, the double shot dtilt variation (since I often use just the single shot), will MISS the second part while they are dodging, but you can continue the dtilt flurry or start it up when their dodge is finished to trip them or get damage OR you can time a grab for after the invincibility frames are over... or usmash or utilt or ftilt.... doesn't matter at that point. If they go outright dodge, same thing as slightly delayed dodge. You should be given enough reaction time. If they manage to distance themselves enough to make you miss barely with the dtilt, stop and go with your normal longer range attacking. No sense making yourself vulnerable. If they move out enough to still get hit by dtilt, it is likely that they MAY get tripped. I'm not saying they WILL get tripped, 'cause that is silly. In that case, just get one dtilt off and immediately rush with a grab/dashgrab (preferably dashgrab). That one hit will cause a world of opportunity. Even if they do manage to react superbly, they would need to be super quick.... quicker than my reaction when doing this. If they are retreating, they take just a bit longer to react and redirect an attack or anything back at you. Since they are tilting the analog stick left, few characters can hit you with an ftilt towards one direction when you are rushing at their back. Even then, few attacks can hit you within that short time that it takes to go into grab animation from a dtilt. Another thing to worry about is attacks... few character are quick enough to get in or outprioritize the dtilt, and in those few cases, you want to be EXTREMELY careful with dtilt. This is why my game vs. snake, mk, marth, and some others is very... poor. My gameplay has shifted to include this dtilt in my ever-expanding repertoire of strategies and moves and exploit it often.

sorry gotta get that out there.... you were saying something of dtilt, and one thing that I feel that I need to help with is dtilt usage. I often see flurries or improper punishment... you can't use dtilt, with it's speed with little damage, as a move to rack up damage by itself. It won't work after a bit. Because it is fast, you CAN do so much into it and out of it, making it a good string lead and chain move... I go fair>dtilt sometimes if I happen to get only the first few frames of fair animation, which causes autocancel, so that I get the speed to transfer and keep pressure. I sometimes rush in, telegraphing something COMPLETELY different, then just shield or something and throw a dtilt, which leads to all those options... But I don't remember if I covered everything.

Okay, now to actually covering your matches, chrono! XD

I only watched the single match so far

whenever you hear "PIKA!!" for the calling of the thunder, and are nearby pikachu, PUT UP MAGNET IMMEDIATELY!! I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU'RE THINKING YOU CAN DO NEAR HIM!! GET THAT HEALTH!! I saw 3/4/5/6 times where you did that. You were even on the ground for the Magnet cancel. Also, if you didn't know, you can absorb the thunderbolt EVEN IF you are near pika's body. If it hits him, you still absorb it, as long as you got Psimag up in time.

I like your ability to predict. First kill is prime example.

Work on SDI'ing that dsmash a little better... it wasn't a huge problem though.

I like the good pummeling and grabbing/bthrowing. Every time you grabbed that opportunity and made the best of it.

I'm guessing wifi lag cause some delayed reactions, and thus you getting punished.

you had him caught in a pillar near the ledge and tried going for the spike... at your position, it would've been better to just dtilt spam.... then nair. racks up damage. sometimes you miss the spike, like you did in that instant.

like your usage of pkflash. just good enough.

good overall usage of moves... maybe more ftilt though.

Good job overall.

EDIT: I re-read that and confused myself... Basically, dtilt in small bursts of 1 or 2 allows for more proper followup attacks and movements than does flurry for the lulz. dtilt flurry will get you hurt if it is outside of a lock...

AND LOL THAT PIKA! I played like 10 matches with, I destroyed him in the first 3 matches, (Did some crazy *** kills) :D and then after that I became lazy and just played sloppy but still won, But yeah he probably got this replay recorded when it was the 7th or 8th match, because he saved this replay, and recorded it.

And I'll make sure to PSI magnet right when I hear Pikachu.

I agree with that in terms of wifi... I often accidentally use dsmash and usmash.

I love when that happens. XD I sometimes get so bored that I play ganondorf and still win. XD

correction, you will SPAM PSI MAGNET!!! IT MAKES YOU WIN ALL THE TIME!!!

XD YAY!!! I personally prefer grabs and nair/uair/ftilt/usmash over fsmash... it's more reliable... if they roll out just right, you miss the fsmash. but for the times that DOES work... OH SO SWEET!
