Need Help with PSA (Variables)

I made a move that aids my recovery and does not make me helpless, but, to avoid being able to spam it, I tried to use variables...

My Subaction 0 (Wait) is:
Bit Variable Set: LA-Bit [200] - True

My Down-B is:
If Bit is Set: LA-Bit [200]
...
Bit Variable Clear: LA-Bit[200] - False

And at that point, it freezes. Why? There are no other mentions of LA-Bit [200] that I can find.

I need help!

You can't create variables in Brawl, all of them are premade so it will freeze your Wii if you try to set one above the set amount. What you're thinking of won't work sadly, I've tried it before. Each variable already has an assignment.

So what should I do if I want to make an attack that helps you up, doesn't help your recovery, and doesn't make you helpless?

If it helps, this is ROB's new down-B, with the original action already changed.

If I can't make new variables, which one should I use? Is there a filler variable that I can use?
