LOL. PP, in all honesty, I can see why you don't understand. You do the same thing with your "main." I.E. not really playing your main unless you're in tournament.

I tried to go all Falco on NC at Duke in friendlies, and just felt bad. Otherwise I would have stayed him(which is what I need to do).

Knowing this, I don't really think the situations are comparable.

I know the situations aren't comparable, but they're related. I just know you and your brother think of these type of things the same way. I realize your brother is young or whatever, so I'm not trying to argue with him or anyone. How I feel about it won't change. I thought me and him had a mutual understanding that we wanted to prove we can beat each other's main, Twitch moreso than I. And this was all based off our friendlies at Asheboro, where we played Fox vs Falcon, so those were the characters I thought we would play in the mm... disregarding your thought of a "main." I'm pretty sure Twitch would feel like I do if I used my DK or some sh*t on him. But yeah, that's it now. It's done.

Since I get to discuss this with you and not friggin DJ this time, I'll attempt this discussion. Twitch needs a fair shot here.

1. You "know" we think of these things the same way? If I was using Falco vs someone and lost(especially in a MM), then I wouldn't switch lol, no matter who it was. No matter if I thought I was going to lose going in.

2. You can't post your thoughts and keep copping out of an argument/discussion. Especially when you keep saying stuff about him(I'm being simpleton with that concept for clarity).

3. "Twitch moreso than I"? You know you wanted to beat him just as badly as he wanted to beat you. Saying anything beyond that is impossible to fully determine(if my part can even be agreed upon....which is probably won't).

4. It's a fair assumption, but it's not something worth getting upset and calling out Twitch's behavior/sportsmanship over.

5. Lol wtf at "main" cheap shot. I think your main is someone you chose to play in tournament/play most often. That doesn't mean main, to me, = character played in all serious matches, but it's the most likely one, which is why your assumption is fair.

6. If you kept trying with DK after you lost with Falcon(fully reversing situation), then it's a fair MM. You obviously would have thought you DK could have won based on matchup inexperience or something though, because most people who do this TEND TO(but not always) feel sad about their previous loss and don't always try as hard.

THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. I talked to Twitch, and he said that he played the Fox/Falcon matchup wrongly, so he wanted to try something different. Supposedly he did alright second match, so it's not unreasonable to think he gave up.

Regardless, you won the MM, so you>Twitch. You beat Twitch's Fox by 2 stocks in a MM(and you both obviously tried), so you>Twitch. I'm not really sure what you want here besides kicking Twitch when he's already down about losing to you when he felt good about his chances of winning. He's been a very good sport about this, and I'd like to say we should drop the discussion here since it will avoid any further damage from this nonsense, but my hopes aren't particularly high for that one.

All of this aside, <3 you Mike, but I'm going to make Twitch **** you next time you guys play. =)

PP:

1. I didn't mean that you would have done the same thing he did in that situation. I said you think of "these things" the same way, not that you completely agree with him and would have done what he did.

2. True, lol.

3. He's the one who said he can beat me anywhere/anytime when he wants to, and he's the one who asked me for a mm. Believe me, I didn't care as much as to do what I just explained he did.

4. I don't even know what you're talking about here. About getting upset, I'm really not as much as you think. That's why I didn't want anyone to take what I said so seriously.

5. Yeah.

6. n/a

Dude, I don't want anything out of this. Do you think I mentioned any of this in the first place to get the satisfaction of hearing people say that I'm better than him?... I'm disappointed because I wanted to play the character he uses for real. Plus, he definitely had a shot against me with Fox. I'm not trying to make him feel bad either. In my post where I first mentioned it, I said "I see you get discouraged easily when you shouldn't." I just thought it was stupid, immature... I don't know, whatever you want to call it.

lol, I still <3 you too. Good luck training him to beat me.

1. So then, it was just a general cheap shot? Alright....

3. He said he "thought" he could beat you, and then backed his statement up based on friendlies. We all, INCLUDING MYSELF, told him this wasn't what you base a claim like that off of, and he respected that. You cared enough to tell Twitch he's disrespectful after you beat him. I would think you'd make more of a passing comment than a blatant "lemme insult your character right quick" comment if you felt that way.

4. You said he was disrespecting you by switching characters. You beat his main in a MM. You beat him in a MM. That's beating him in my view, and yet you still went on to call him out unnecessarily.
Most people wouldn't take that so seriously, but even if you weren't talking about me or Twitch, I'd find it harsh that you call out someone on a personal level after you beat them in a MM.

6. People knew you won the MM regardless of what you posted. Not a very good defense to me.

Well, again, he felt like he was playing the matchup badly(and I'm sure your good play helped him forget it[also not badly in general]....I try to qualify anything that people love to interpret as "johns"), so he wanted to change things up. He still tried though, I can assure you of that.

Well, I can understand why you think him going Luigi was a cop-out, but it just wasn't. I doubt he'll do it again though.

LOL training him should be easy since I see him so often these days. XD But thanks all the same.

1. It wasn't a cheap shot... I don't have anything different to say for this number than I did last time.

3.
he is not better than me. i don't know how serious he was in the friendlies we played but going on those matches, and the matches i saw him play with other people, i know i can beat him in tourney or anytime else.
4. Okay, this is what happened: he said he got ***** by me in our mm. I quoted him and said that he switched to Luigi for the last two matches, implying that it wasn't necessarily "true" ****. Is this really calling him out? I simply mentioned that I thought it was kind of disrespectful. But whatever, I guess what you want me to say is that I ***** him. So I ***** him.

You can think whatever you want of my "defense," but I'm not bullsh*t'ing you here.

1. Fine

3. He based it on the friendlies.....

And, that seems like confidence. If he said he could beat you anytime/anywhere, then I encourage you to find that, as it would support what you actually said.

4. I know what he said, and I know you said other things about it in your post. I have NO PROBLEM with those other things. My problem is with you saying he's being disrespectful when he wasn't trying to be disrespectful.

I wouldn't be particularly happy if you just went around saying "I freakin raaaaaped him" because that's not super chill, but I'm not sure how you got there in the first place. I was only talking about the "disrespect" part, once again.

Just a bad defense for the point you made. It's usually how you convince people of your points, after all. It's a very minor thing though. In this argument/discussion, that particular point doesn't really matter. I'm probably just being nit-picky.

...i think the general assumption was that twitch didn't really think he could win with luigi, and that at that point he stopped being competitive. after it has now come to light that twitch was still apparently competitive after going luigi, i think this argument has come to null.

if, during a money match, once ceases to be competitive, that is a sign of disrespect (in my personal understanding).

so...yeah...lets be friends?

edit: mike where u gon be saturday? i wanna take u to the smashfest and such.

Alright, well, that's enough now. I think we're both done with this bullsh*t, but understand what I said was how I felt. I know he wasn't purposely trying to be disrespectful. I just thought of it as incredibly lame and somewhat disrespectful in a way. And for the record, I don't have anything against anybody, so we're all cool regardless of this stupid thing.

YES. Exactly.

I'll probably be at home. I need Cam to take me home from the fest and I don't think that's happening.

First part=yes, but it's never that quick lol. XD

Not really. People could quit out or essentially give up in MMs, and that proves that one player/the crowd broke the other player's spirit/will to keep trying. Nothing disrespectful about that to me, but then again, you're not me.

Edit: Yeah Mike, after we started discussing this, that's what I figured. Just a word-choice thing. No harm done. And LOL you're the first person I've had a lengthy discussion with on this board that didn't at least partially involve flames or argument-changing deviations since.....ever. Thank you.

yeah. which was always why i didn't like TJ playing DK against me. his mario always had a better shot against me (a lot of time, because of that **** cape), but at least in the past, during times we played, when i played his mario, i'd have a lot tougher time. however, i rarely saw the mario. i wouldn't force him to play it, but i always felt like he was either hiding his mario, or simply thought he could beat me with his second best character...neither of which felt good.

TL;DR - TJ WHERE U AT.

edit: i'm not saying its bad to quit, i'm saying that, in general, if i take the time to put my money and best effort into any given situation, i want my opponent to do the same. why would I expect any different?

if one receives blatantly less than my opponents best efforts, then one would feel slighted, no?

...i'll have a car. i can take you home mike. unless it specifically has to be cam...

edit: since you're better than me moo, as long as you win, you can play whoevertf you want. if you beat me with game and watch, and want to work on him, go for it.

idk moo, i just know that idc as long as i'm getting beat and learning matchups. if i feel like my opponent isn't learning anything either (or is just ******* around), i generally don't care...unless i figure we're in a setting where we should actually be trying to accomplish something.

idk, moo you're cool, idc who you play, as long as we're in the same room, its all good.

edit: mike: whaaaaaat how are you that far away? how long does it take to get to me?

I'll leave the TJ thing alone, though I do have guesses.

When you put up money for a set, each person may have their own reason for doing it. It's bad to assume.

However, if talk like pre-Mike/Twitch went down, then you could assume they'd try hard. If someone CPs though, that's part of a MM/set.

This is kind of beating a dead horse though.....

Smith lives on the edge of Greensboro or something. It's not really Greensboro but technically it is. I'm pretty sure that no matter where you are in Greensboro, to get to his house you need to take the highway. And I'm like 15 minutes away from UNCG.

So trippin...

Fountain of Dreams is the most beautiful stage imaginable.
Battlefield was on fire. Like literally on fire.
FD was like being in outer space then being in a vortex and then landing on this serene cloudy planet.
Every raptor boost or falcon kick was a brilliant burst of light.
Mewtwo was a "twitching ball of flesh".
Falco got constantly bigger and smaller. A lot. His lasers were glowing red bolts.
**** the Character select screen, and Yoshi Story. SO gross.

I could not get mad. I felt no negative emotion. I have never been so serene playing Smash.

I love this game.

He got off the phone with me a few minutes ago and told me about this. One of the best conversations ever.

Edit: I bet Mike missed my last edit addressed to him. <3
