NBA vs. College Basketball

What's your take? I've always been really bored by college hoops - outside of the later stages of March Madness, I've never had any reason to watch it at all. NBA teams are better, the good players actually stick around (as opposed to leaving after one or two years), and you don't see players waiting around for 35 seconds before jacking up a 3. It's just... better basketball.

The old adage that college players are "playing for the love of the game" while pro players are universally selfish is BS, to me. There are selfish and unselfish players in both the NCAA and NBA. And NBA players are definitely spoiled, but you can't deny that college basketball ones get special treatment (both legal and not so legal) as well.

Atmosphere-wise, I'll concede that college sports are more exciting, especially in March Madness. But that's not really a deal breaker either way. And don't tell me that the NBA Playoffs are not exciting. That's a really intense atmosphere, too.

I guess it just comes down to relevance, for me - there are so many college teams, each with a constantly rotating cycle of players, that I've never felt connected to any of them outside of the major one from my home state (Minnesota). The NBA's teams are much easier to keep track of, and their stars are so much more relevant than in college that you get to cheer for the players AND the team. (Which is more fun, to me.) What do you think?
