We plan on running online competitions for Super Smash Bros Ultimate! Everything from having power rankings, live streaming top 8, and plenty more!
Season 1 will be lasting for about 2 months with 8 brackets. 7 brackets will be placement brackets while the 7th and final bracket will be for top 8. During the season, players will earn seasonal points depending on how high they placed in a bracket. Top 8 players with the highest total season points will be qualified to enter the championship bracket. Prizes will include cash via PayPal and mythic eclipse goodies. Each bracket giving out prizes to winners!
These tournaments will be on a Saturday. However, If there is a reason we are unable to host a tournament for that particular day we'll postpone it for the next weekend. This is in case of server issues or for other reasons.
Where online will this be hosted at?

Will there be prizes?
Yes! each placement bracket will have $25. 1st place gets 17.50, and 2nd place gets 7.50. Then for the championship bracket, 1st place will get $50, 2nd place will get $25, and 3rd place will get $10. The money will be distributed via Paypal. If you need a PayPal to receive the payment.

How do I connect to another player online through the bracket?
You'll be provided with your opponent's Nintendo Switch ID through your match dashboard. We aren't 100% on how smash ultimate online features are handled so we'll update later on once we know more. We think there's a lobby system judging by the direct.

Can I play on Wi-Fi?
Although not required, we highly recommend connecting with an Ethernet cable to maintain a stable connection with your router and opponent. We'll try our best to be understanding with Wi-Fi, but players will be disqualified if their connection makes matches unplayable. We also ask that you ensure you change your NAT type to Open. If it's not open, players may experience issues connecting with you. And if you cannot connect to players due to your NAT, you will be disqualified.

How will the seasonal ranking system work?
Below is a chart showing how many points you can earn in a tournament for certain placements. The bigger sized tournament, the more points top players earn for winning more! Get as many points as you can to proceed to the championship bracket. The top 10% of players will proceed to the championship bracket.
We also have rank tiers during the season as well. These ranks will be displayed as roles for participants during the season. These will also be used to determine skill levels for players as the season goes on.
