MultiVersus Season 1 Patch

After installing the Season 1 Patch, I noticed that some of the characters are locked now despite already unlocking them. Is this a glitch caused by the new patch? What is that purple clock icon in the bottom right corner of a character icon? Does the purple clock icon also mean that I haven't unlocked that character? It's strange because I already unlocked every character yet some of them are locked now after installing the Season 1 Patch. Also, can I unlock the new Season 1 Premium Battle Pass without a Token or I have no choice but to use a Token? See the pics below.

There's a rotation of free characters that changes every couple of weeks and the clock signifies that they're currently the free rotation character which you'd previously only have known if you read the patch notes outside of the game. So LeBron, Batman, Steven and Arya are currently on the free rotation and will leave for the next rotation.

The characters likely got locked again because they were on free rotation and you hadn't actually bought them. So for me Steven will lock again in a few weeks because I haven't bought him and don't intend to.

You have to use a pass token to get the Premium Pass if you have them.
