Hey guys, Stockholm here with more recorded bowser goodness.

So Ive been playing bowser a bunch more in tourney and I think these games reflect my added time into the character.

The tournament Spicy Spot (link below to the video) was recorded a week ago.

I got to play a falco with all bowser, fox with all bowser, and then when i got to FashionPanther, a sheik player, I realized that if I beat him there would be a 'solo bowser main' in top 8 (i also main peach, but wouldnt have played peach in the tournament up until Game 2 with FP) So i took the ultimate test of a bowser's perseverance and played bowser v sheik.

The other sets were a lot of fun tho, i was stylin ahaha.

Sorry for the long ass video, time stamps below. Let me know what you think!

Set with Gwulf (Falco): 1:05:11
Set with Gsai (Fox): 1:41:35
Game 1 with FashionPanther (Sheik): 2:18:09

That dank Uair from the ledge omg that was epic! But yea, I don't know if you noticed, but everyone tends to camp on the side platform when you are grabbing the ledge, since they are not threatened by the get up attack. Whenever you'd go there, that Sheik (well, near mid-game) would jump on the ledge, then shield drop fair. That was enough time to pull off that Uair. They think they are safe when they are not. : o

Other than that you pretty much have the cutest Boozer around. :083:

Your movement is super crisp. Aside from your platform wavelands you seem to have really good control of the character mobility-wise. You clearly seem to know the autocancel timings of all of his aerials and you know more or less when to use them in neutral.

Nice moonwalks, I figure once you can do them consistently why risk SDing from a running forward fortress or something. Plus sometimes the hitbox can save a spacie while they recover and you just want a clean ledgegrab. Also Bowser's moonwalk looks sooooo dope.

Your choices on when to up-B and where to drift were typically very good and you incorporated a lot of fortress hogging and were never scared to go to the ledge. As someone who clearly enjoys his fortressing you should look into aerial fortress canceling, fortress landing, and edge cancel aerial fortress. Pangwell's Bowser guide thread goes more in depth but here's a bunch of gfys of that stuff.

I won't go into detail on the Falco match, you were clearly just a way better player than he was. Thumbs up. Nice style. Good execution. It's proof that you were warmed up.

Your decision making in close quarters was very good vs the Fox. A lot of noncommittal pokes and threats, and when you did something kind of unsafe it was usually a bait. You shield grabbed rarely, which is kind of tempting with the spacies because dthrow tech chasing and or uthrowing onto a platform can be juicy opportunities. However, by relying on a lot of up-B, when you did mix it up with the occasional grab you almost always got it or whiffed but wasn't punished for it because he was conditioned to shield to beat the fortress spam. Nice methodical neutral. Good use of retreating fair and ftilt walling all around. You didn't hesitate when in the corner and you mixed up your tech options well, although you missed a few crucial techs and it cost you.

Your edgeguarding vs Fox was just a little bit goofy. Mostly just some bad hesitations which led to you mistiming your aerials or your get up roll/attack. That's what makes DJ's Bowser so good, there's no hesitation in his edgeguarding. He just goes for it, and he's got the consistency to do every part of the sequence without second guessing himself. You gotta sieze that day bro. Carpe diem or whatever. You can't cover every option because you're Bowser, but you can always cover an option correctly. For the most part you don't screw up too bad and you often pick up the edgeguard or the kill quickly, but you don't have to drop it in the first place.

As he started to play lamer towards the end of game 1 your shield heavy neutral started working less effectively because he quit being a goofball and stopped throwing bad aerials at your shield. You should have called out his dash dances and retreats with advancing fairs and or waveland ftilts, or even just a run in fortress; anything to make your neutral more proactive to counter his passiveness. You took a little time to notice that he changed gears but you closed out game 1 pretty easy. Once again you're clearly the better player but there's some stuff you could do better.

Cheeky use of the fullhop Flame Breath near the start of Game 2, I definitely nodded in approval upon seeing it despite being alone at the time. Don't forget that at low percents you can Klaw backthrow spacies into the corner and tech chase them like you would with dthrow. It only works at low percents because it sends at a more severe angle than regular backthrow but you can react to all options and get a guaranteed regrab or up-B off of it. It has higher knockback growth too so if the spacie DIs to avoid having to tech in the corner, they just get sent offstage at a ****ty angle. Either way, win win. Know when to Klaw bthrow and the best way to follow up, especially when they catch on an start DIing Klaw fthrow hard away. You gave up some opportunities trying to get Klaw regrabs and style.

That being said, your platform tech chases were awesome and stylish. You tried to follow up weird off of utilt. Off of utilt, you have to react to their DI and either do another utilt or position yourself to tech chase them upon landing. Maybe dash attack, but why would you do dash attack lol. Nice downsmashes, that move looks so cool.

I might look at the Sheik later but those are my initial thoughts. Nice play.

Looks real good, man. Everyone else seems to have covered it, but your movement was impressive and your claw reads were also great. You fsmashing that Sheik might also be the best thing I've seen all day.
