It is cool that he not only knew about Brawl, but marketing strategies as well.

Where I live, stores like Walmart and Target have had Melee out since it was released 6 years ago. And it still costs the same as a DS game!

Interesting, but doesn't surprise me the least bit.
My next door neighbor is a 6 year old and he has like every system and the hottest games for each of them. Really gets me frustrated to think about. Cause apparently children born after the year 2000 get like...everything.

I was playing Duck Hunt, SMB, and Punch Out!! at about 2-3 yrs. old, so kids can know a lot about video games.

I work at Target and we always have Melee out because it is one of the best selling GameCube games of all time. It has nothing to do with Brawl, just so you know.

That story brought a tear to my eye,

Hell, that would've been me if I was 6 right now.

My gamer history pwns all of yours:

'Round the time most little kids learnt to read I was playing Starfox 64, beast game, so to the main part, I wanted to learn to read to read what Peppy, Falco, Fox, and Slippy were saying. XD

I had a similar encounter yesterday, though the kid in mine was rather dumb. I was in Best Buy picking up my awesome Assassin's Creed art book, when I decided to pass through the Wii section just to see what new games were out. This kid was there with his mom LOOKING for brawl. This guy was seriously under the impression that it was already out. Even after his mom asked him if he was sure it was out already, he insisted and replied with "They can't be all out of games already!" I had the urge to tell him the horrible truth, but it was just too amusing. A couple people were snickering at him too. Maybe THEY were "in the know," but obviously this kid wasn't.

You're right though. It's nice to know that a lot more people are at least aware of Brawl.

dude. when starfox 64 came out i already had been playing video games for 10 years. so your gamer history starts on N64. mine starts way back in the atari days.

Im old enough to have played the original Mario, Zelda, and Final Fantasy when they came out. Lol I hated Final Fantasy when I was little because it was too hard and I had to read. Now im a huge Fan. I also had Festers Quest I played the daylights out of It. Jeez Takes me back to my nes days to when my mom would only allow me to play 30 min at a time because she wanted to play zelda or something. 1989 My Nes Glory Days.

6 Inch GI Joes FTW.

My second game for the NES, after Super Mario Bros, was Final Fantasy I .

I inserted the cartridge on my brand new console and was horrified:

- I hadn't even heard of RPGs
- I was very young, and i didn't know a word of english yet
- At first i couldn't recognize that it was a top view, so i kept trying to move the character like mario, wondering why the stage looked so strange and there wasn't a jump button. Luckily i realized this in a few minutes.

I must say that i learned most of my english through videogames, especially the Final Fantasy saga. Final Fantasy I grew to be one of my favorites in those years, after i finally got how to play it and asked for help reading the text (i didn't realize until much later that FFI's translation was pretty bad)
