I would consider all the KI characters, besides maybe Pit himself Sakurai's babies. You wouldn't be a Palutena fan if Sakurai didn't completely remake the games. Prior to KI:U's reveal, no one asked for Palutena or Medusa.

That was the point, he just didn't revived a franchise that lacked of content just to not to add at least one new character and/or several things about it, right? Riiiiiiiight? sorry I couldn't evade to make that last two words

I really don't think Sakurai is that modest with his characters. He added two Kirby characters in Brawl, after all.

I think Rosy's inclusion both hurts and helps Palutena's chances.

It could be argued that the Tall Magic using woman archetype is now taken but I say, what is Zelda? Chopped liver? If Sakurai can think of a, for want of a better word, gimmick for Palutena it doesn't matter how tall or magical she is.

Question is, what gimmick?

Look on the bright side; we're finally getting more females and magical characters (wherever Zelda is). One thing I now realize is that Rosalina is with us now is because of her recent hype as being playable in Mario 3D World, which actually became the perfect chance for her to also be in Smash. As of now, Rosalina being in more games has really built up her hype over the recent times.
When thinking about Palutena, since KIU has all that dialogue and hilarious banter, it would make more sense if she appeared when we finally get footage of the characters actually having voices (or sounds depending on the character) and such. To make it short, Palutena may show up in a trailer that has character voices, which may not be for a while, and I realize it. But on the bright side, if my new speculation is correct, say Palutena did get a trailer, I'm sure it will top all the trailers we have so far combined.

I think Palutena would make use of Pit's vast arsenal (oh ye gods) and complement them with her own powers. I can also imagine her getting a lotta dialogue lines in. Also since Pit swapped the shield for the guardian orbitars she'd maybe get his old Down B.

One of my moves for her atm involves a modified version of the Reflect Barrier power, having more coverage, and Palutena can angle it upwards to the point where the barrier's completely above here, where the weakness is that she can't turn around. That could suit her Down-B, but who knows?

Picked up a cheap second hand box copy of uprising with the stand today. It had the AR cards, manual and the registration card intact. I couldn't believe my luck. It looked like it was barely used. (The existing save file was up to chapter 2)

Enjoying the game so far, considering I'm not that familiar with on rail shooters. One thing I didn't expect was how many unlockable and goodies would be in the game.

I'll finally see what the deal is with Palutena too.

Rosalina looks more like a fairy godmother than a goddess but even if we classify her as a goddess this wouldn't be the first time Smash brothers introduces two characters with a few similarites.

For example Lucas and Toon Link are two boys with blonde hair, both have the central hero role in their respective games. Too bad Toon Link can't use magic in smash bros like he can in Zelda games. Did you know a lot of Zelda's magic abilities in smash bros actually come from Link in Zelda games?

There are more examples I can draw like Lucario and Charizard both being tall pokemon, the anti heroes like Wario Wolf and Metaknight, Pit being a bow fighter look how different he is from Link, and more.

I feel confident she would stand out in the Smash bros roster, so far there aren't any green haired fighters but no one yet is a staff fighter and she has a lot to draw from her magical abilities as well. Rosalina's main fighting is her luma and her wand.

"Palutena Glam Blaster"
A fierce attack Palutena uses to finish the Three-Headed Hewdraw if Pit doesn't finish the last head quickly enough, killing it in one shot.

Levitation.
Palutena has the ability to levitate, effortlessly and seemingly indefinitely; even when she swoons from resisting the Chaos Kin, she does so in midair.




Palutena boost a plethora of light-based projectile attacks. She can create three balls of light above her either horizontally or vertically. If horizontal, Palutena will fire three bolts of light at the same time up to three times in quick succession, launching a total of nine shots with great horizontal range. If vertical, the bolts will fire one at a time from the bottom to the top, rapidly firing off up to nine shots in a flurry of light.



Palutena raises her shield and charges her light power, then unleashes it blinds her target with light, if in range. This lasts for about three seconds.



Palutena shoots a large, slow-moving ball of teal light that hone in on her target. Palutena can shoot up to three in quick succession.




Palutena waves her staff and shoots three fast-moving columns of light across the stage.


Slow-moving halo and its own projectile

Palutena launches a slow-moving halo that resembles her own across the ground. The halo hones in on her target and chases it, and it additionally shoots its own light projectiles at her target, up to three times before evaporating.




When her target is nearby, Palutena raises her staff and zooms forward in a huge column of light, blazing toward her target at great speed. This attack also cover a great distance, allowing her to essentially move across the stage.

While Palutena seems much more comfortable at a distance, she possess a swift melee attack in which she twirls, surrounding herself with rings of light, knocking her target back. She will use this as a counter to being melee attacked in Chapter 20, or if her target is extremely close to her.

Palutena is able to summon Centurions and Centurion Knights (depending on the Intensity) to aid her in her battle. She will only summon one at a time.

She needs the standard light projectile and those light columns for sure. While we always had different kinds of projectiles, maybe we need a tall projectile (not counting Pika's Thunder) for once. I only know the light projectile is part of the moveset I have for her. Now if only I can find that document...

What I like about the idea of Palutena is that she could use a staff, a weapon that would be so fun and unique to see. We haven't seen any weapons other than mainly swords and long-ranged weapons (guns, bows and arrows, etc.). Honestly, I don't know much about Palutena myself, or even the entire Kid Icarus series, but she just seems like a good idea.

Personally, I feel that it hints that there might be more female newcomer reveals in the future (with Palutena hopefully being one of them).

At this point I only hope she makes it in. She still has the chance for sure, but I'm already losing my patience more and more for every veteran and newcomer (especially the latter) that gets revealed. I'm already infuriated about how much Rosalina and Zelda pics we'll be getting soon while there won't be any new Pit or Bowser ones, let alone any Kid Icarus related ones. In fact, and pics that talk about something KI related or have Pit (or Bowser) as the character being talked about will calm me down. Otherwise, Palutena being playable or at the very least being shown will put my mind to rest.

I'm going to guess a big YES. While this doesn't mean Palutena is 100% in, I think Sakurai is adding in more females. And if he needs a female, Palutena would be sure first on that list. He's probably just waiting for the best time to reveal her.

The more they show, the more I'm stressed, and when they show other characters(Assist Trophies so far) in the daily pic I always think that that's one more slot wasted without Palutena and after watching they're AT my mind goes full of hope again. >_<

And now having to go through 5 Rosalina related pics (Luma counts) in a row, and now Zelda will most likely get another pic today... When's the last time we ever seen someone like Bowser get talked about? Oh yea, never! Same with Mario, and others. Granted, Pit and Bowser are the only veterans atm with confirmed new moves (not sure bout the Phantom suit with Zelda yet), and yet they're not talked about much at all. I better embrace the flooding of Zelda/Rosalina pics soon, because I doubt we'll be getting Kid Icarus related stuff for a while.
While the game is still deep in development, our hope is when character voices come out and hopefully we'll find Pit and Palutena chatting up a storm with plenty of fun banters. That will be our savoir moment.

Checked the webpage of that user I forgot his nickname, sorry. And damn, since November 1st without pics specifically made for Pit.
Better not talk about Bowser, there hasn't been Bowser info since looooong time ago, which is sad because I find this Bowser the best one so far.
I hope all this lack of info leads to something.

Honestly Pit had it going better for him than Bowser, who had no spotlight and was often shown getting hurt by something. Bowser was practically always accompanied by another character, but none focused on him. Even that "Sonic failure" was more bout Sonic than poor Bowser. Now, they did talk about Pit's pose when he shoots an arrow looking different and sharper, and even talked bout the Upperdash Arm and Guardian Orbitars before, but Bowser got nothing. I just want spotlights for both Pit and Bowser, who are my current chosen mains. Palutena would add to the list if she was in.

I've kinda done my part about Palutena, there isn't anything much left discuss other than to wait on her confirmation.
Maybe I'll add something, since he did direct the attacks that Palutena uses during her being controlled by the Chaos Kin to make her at least interesting, maybe those moves will be incorporated into her moveset.

Truth it be besides being able to talk to each other.
I've been slacking bout the potential moveset I was talking bout, that and I had an ideal block for a while. I just hope I get to display it sometime soon so we can at least have a bit of something to do, besides my usual Pit + Palutena shipping thoughts.

Maybe for a taunt, the background of the stage is covered by Palutena, as a goddess I think she can project a giant version of herself just like in Pit's Brawl Final Smash. Maybe a little of a raspberry while she's intimidating.

I am not a Kid Icarus fan by any means, but I just wanted to stop by and say that Palutena and Medusa are two of my top desired characters for Smash 4. They compliment each other very well and would +2 the female count. Kirby saw the addition of two reps in Brawl and considering Kid Icarus is [more or less] Sakurai's franchise right now, 2 new reps for this series could easily happen. Medusa takes my favor due to being a female villain; we don't have one of those and she's fantastic—beyond being a great archetype. Always been a fan of the mythological Medusa.

After thinking about it for a while, I am now worried that Sakurai's Miiverse comment about Zelda's reveal actually implies that all of the female playable characters have already been revealed (of course, I look forward to being proven wrong).
