Lyrics

The door slammed in his face. Once again, Jeremy was unsuccessful at selling fax machines for FaxPlus. He had been traveling door-to-door for weeks with minor victories here and there. He decided that a nice long walk on the beach might clear his mind. Jeremy pulled his candy apple red Chevy into the parking lot of the beach. He saw a woman and her child running hand in hand, playing without a care in the world. He envied that life. With his Nike running shoes laced up and ready to go, he started his stroll. What started as a short walk on the beach turned into a jog, and from a jog into a sprint. What he was running from, he didn't know. All of sudden he remembered the better days of old, and the smile of a beautiful woman he held dear in his heart.

Nicole was a gorgeous blonde with emerald green eyes. She had the kind of eyes that made people stare. When she smiled, one could only wonder at the perfection of a human being. Nicole was a nurse who could bring a smile to a disease stricken child, or make a hardened war veteran blush. She had the ability to bring a small amount of happiness in an instant by just one small body movement.

During college, Nicole and Jeremy were best friends who were destined for a life together. Nicole was the envy of every guy in town. Jeremy was a charming man who loved to joke around, but was much more intelligent than he seemed. Professors inquired of their wedding date to which Jeremy dreamed of, but never knew the answer.

Jeremy bought a beautiful diamond ring one day on a whim. He figured he should ask Nicole to marry him, but didn't know the right way to do it. One night on a full moon, the two were sitting on the beach talking. The wind and the waves were in harmony, playing as if an orchestra. *The light of the moon was brilliant, like a bride on her wedding day. Jeremy had the ring in his pocket, wondering if the time was right.

"It's getting late." She said abruptly. "Why don't you take me home."

Just like that the moment was gone and they walked back to the car. Jeremy clicked his seatbelt into place and off they went. The air was flowing through the windows and everything was silent. Jeremy dreamed of a future with the girl of his dreams. Daydreaming, he started to swerve in and out of the lane. With bright lights ahead, he stared at them like an unsuspecting deer.

"She wasn't wearing her seatbelt." A worried doctor said.

"Will she be alright?"

“It doesn't look good.”

Hundreds attended the funeral of the girl that heaven sent. In disbelief those in attendance wondered the meaning of it all. Her father was motivated and there was a lack of doubt at the place his daughter sat in Heaven.

Jeremy found himself at a car dealership, needing a new car after the crash. He picked out a bright red Chevy, hoping that it would bring him happiness.
