The idea of including Miis in Super Smash Bros. Brawl is, essentially, the idea of including yourself. Nintendo's cute, cartoony personal avatars have been a big hit for the system, and have emphasized a renewed connection between players and their games – you can make a likeness of yourself and then use it to represent you in bowling, boxing or any of several other activities. And, increasingly, more and more games are using the Mii characters for cameos or active roles here and there – they've even made it into unexpected places like Metroid Prime 3. Could Brawl be far behind? Imagine an option that allows you to import your own Mii character into the Smash Bros. fighting lineup – given a moveset drawn from the Sports and Play Wii games, you could control your own digital doppelganger in battle against Mario, Link and the rest. And why stop at yourself? You could use any Mii you wanted, allowing Brawl to become a forum for fights between anyone you could imagine. Want to beat up Hitler? Go toe to toe with Gandhi? Give Mark Bozon a Falcon Punch in the face? It could all be possible with Smashing Miis.
