Midnight Launch - Your Plans?

For those who wish to grab your SSBB at midnight... Why Midnight?

is it to get a lead on all the hidden characters/stages first?

is it to write the guides to particular characters for others who get it during the day?

or perhaps to be the few USA'ers on Wi-Fi?

(btw, I know the second option isnt too bright, since that info would probably be out soon...)

Grab it at midnight, so I can sleep as late as I want the next day, and not have to have "SOLD OUT" slapped in my face for 5 stores straight.

Any game I'm a huge fan of, I'll always go to the midnight launch if it's having one. Always fun to talk to fellow gamers about it and what they plan to do while waiting to grab a copy of it.

Sunday is a church day for my religion... but nevertheless, my mom loves to see me happy, so she may let me stay up and get that game by midnight. She likes it when I talk to her about Brawl, too. She used to love the Sonic games, so I think she could partially relate to my happiness when he was revealed for Brawl. I just want it because I've been waiting 6 years for a new installment - over 10 years for Mario and Sonic to be in the same game, a TRUE game, unlike Olympic Games that is. And OH MY SWEET FREAKING GOD I can't wait to play as the TP-styled Ganondorf! Plus, it's 9 days before my birthday, it's an interesting time to get it.

Well as it happens my friends birthdays on the 9th. a sleep over is involved so one of the 5 or so of us is gunna go grab Brawl and come back.

I'll be sleeping, followed by waking up in the morning, showering, brushing my teeth, getting dressed, picking up my reserved copy of Brawl, then go to KFC and get a bucket of chicken and 18 hot wings, then buy some hot sauce, then buy some moist towelletes as not to hot sauce and chicken grease all over my controllers, and then go home and play Brawl.

Well, it's more of an inconvience to me, seeing in I don't have a car, and the Gameware's 30 minutes away... but I'm still going to the Midnight Launch. Mainly because there's going to be a tourney beforehand, and, it's just cool to be around so many smashers...

As long as it's not Platnum.

I wouldn't chance it getting it at midnight. I mean bro, now adays, people will shoot you over PS3's, money, jewelry, and if they're that much of a hardcore nerd, they'll put a bullet in your kneecape to take your copy of SSBB!

That's why reserving your copy is your best bet. Sure it'll take a lil extra cash but you will not walk away from Gamestop empty handed and dissapointed....or dead.

I'm gonna drive by Gamestop around 11, and check out the crowd, and me and my friends will probably grab some food, eat, and wait the rest of the time in front of Gamestop. I'll have to get in line early though because for the Wii release, they would only let like 5 people in the store at a time, and the Gamestop guy told me a few weeks ago they have "well over 100" reservations so far for Brawl.

I'm more than likely not going to a midnight release if there is one. I got it reserved so theres no point. I'll just get up in the morning and pick up Brawl when Gamestop opens. No Crowds, no hassle, no fuss. In and out.

I got it planned. My friends and I will drive to GameStop an hour or two early. We will then get our seperate copies of Brawl (by that I mean my two friends=brothers=1 win=2 games for the three of us), and I'll go beat the Subspace Emissary with my younger brother. After unlocking all the characters and stages (after mindnight), I'm going to practice by facing my friend's online or at their/my house (we live like a street away; I'll try every friggen character in the game and see who I like using and am good with), and then go online and hook me up some quality smash. And then I'll prepare for all those Brawl (online) tournaments I signed up for. >_>

And I can stay up anyways. It won't bug me, and it won't kill my younger brother. And if he needs to sleep (or myself), I'll use the miracle of COFFEE AND SODA! YAEZ CAFFINEE! And it's on a Sunday. And we get several days in Febuary off from school, so that means I can dub those "Brawl Days". It will be AWSOME!

Taking next semester of school off (not for Brawl of course, for other reasons, I'm not that obsessed) = tons of Brawl days. Besides work....

my little cousins b day is the ninth to, so I may hang around town that day and see if walmart will put them out then. [ probaly not becuse they said they will wait intill the next day but maybe if I beg them enough they may give me a copy from the storeroom.

A.Camp out at gamestop and and i will stay up and wake up Derek and get the first 2 copies sold.

B.Do not camp out and go to gamestop in the morning and get our copies.

give you a nice exciting story thats for sure but you wouldnt be able to play brawl for awile IF you decided to go the hospital over it

My gamestop isn't sure about doing a midnight launch for brawl yet, but if they do, here's what I will do:

Play a lot of melee that saturday, then go with my dad and brother to the midnight launch, get the game, come back home, play it till dawn, go to sleep for a few hours, play throughout the day, and watch the grammys .

Of course, I am really hoping that they do have a midnight launch because I didn't reserve a copy .

I'm not going to a midnight launch, I pre ordered my copy, and every preorder I've ever made has been delivered at least a day before release

It's reserved for me, getting shipped out on the 10th. I'll just have to wait a few days, but at least I have a copy coming to me. I'd hate to have to wait for like a month. "Sold Out", two fatal words my friends. I'm just glad I got it preordered, I'm safe! Midnight launch would be fun to go to though. It's only a few weeks away!

2 Questions:

A. Is it confirmed that stores will be doing midnight launches?

B. What stores will be doing the midnight launches. For example, will every gamestop have a midnight launch?

my gamestop said if they have over 100 reservations they would have one with a tournament.

but i'm guessing it goes off a store by store basis.
