Zan recently posted a Youtube video showcasing a not necessarily new but tech usable by Mewtwo.

Thoughts?

Seems very useful actually.
Do you know where I could find a tutorial or a guide explaining how to do this? Lucario should be able to do it too...

Is there a period in which SB can't be cancelled, so you just press shield and then release it and then you can follow-up with moves?

Well while it seems useful I can't figure out how to do it. Timing seems super strict.

Probably means after you start Sb and then Shield you hold down.

I don't get it. I always get the spotdodge.
Having the same problem.

Uploader of the video added this comment "if you're shielding you're pressing down too early, and if you're spot dodging you're doing it too late. Its not hard once you get the timing down."

Timing seems strict. I'm too slow.

I mean you could always air dodge cancel to make this so much easier right.

Just airdodge cancel it off the edge of a platform

Mewtwo can buffer outta his shadowball like this regardless of you do it on a platform or land on the stage.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I managed to do it with Wii Fit Trainer and it lead me back here. So the timing is strict yes, but here's the sequence I used:

When your feet hit the platform, you press and hold down FIRST, and while still holding down, press and hold shield. So the opposite order of a spot dodge. The timing of the two inputs is roughly the same as the two hits of Little Mac's forward tilt.

Hope this helps!
