Metal GC controller

So I've been doing some research and I'm thinking about making a Kickstarter to make a metal gamecube controller. I'm wondering what kind of interest there would be in people to buy them? I've been talking to a local foundryman who would work with me to get it done so I'm sure it is possible.

It's a cool idea in theory but it's probably not easy to pull off. I'm not sure if it is possible to get the controller shells manufactured in a foundry with all the details necessary for good competitive play. A high-quality octagon gate would be especially important and needs a lot of precision to get right. I don't know if it's possible to manufacture that at a reasonable price. You'll likely have to spend hundreds of dollars until you get a first working prototype.
